Library Open on President's Day
The Library will be open regular hours 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Monday, February 17th. Drop by and pick up a book or DVD to celebrate President's Day, or head to the Rec Center for Nappy's Puppets (see below for details).

Organic Composting/Vermiculture/Bokashi with Master Gardener Nick Mancini

This program is for the discerning organic gardener that wants to become the master of his or her garden or for anyone who would just like to know more about various composting methods. Nick Mancini is a Master Gardener, specializing in organic vegetables, fruits, and brambles.  During 2008-09, he was head Master Gardener in charge of vegetables at the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford, CT.  He teaches organic gardening at Norwalk Community College. Mancini also taught organic gardening for Westport and Fairfield, CT continuing education divisions.  He has lectured to the Northeast Organic Farmers Association, garden clubs, and horticultural societies and at libraries throughout Connecticut and the New York Metro area.  A gardening consultant and coach, he is a member of the Connecticut Master Gardeners Association, CT NOFA, Connecticut Community Garden Association, and the Westport Community Garden.

Readers in Grades 2 & 3 are invited to a book discussion group! Children pick up the book at the library and return to discuss it in this after school program.  This month's title: Those Rebels, John & Tom by Barbara Kerley.  Snacks will be served.
