Celebrating MLK Jr. Day
| The Library will be open regular hours 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Monday, January 20th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We urge all to attend the town's anual MLK commemoration celebration and award ceremony, to be held this year at the Ridgefield Playhouse. While there, pick up a booklist of recommended reading on Dr. King and his legacy, prepared by the Library staff.

2014 Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration
A free event to honor the memory of Dr. King and how his spirit lives on in the good works of Ridgefielders today! This year's Spirit of Dr. King Ridgefield Community Service Award will be presented to Anita Donofrio for her support of many community programs and initiatives including The Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield Library and ROAR, among many others. The event includes performances by The Serendipity Chorale with Music Director Gigi Van Dyke and Deborah Katchko-Gray and the TSI (Temple Shearith Israel) Singers,The Ridgefield Chorale, the teens from Ridgefield's A Better Chance program & Kimberly Wilson, and remarks from First Selectman Rudy Marconi, Mark Robinson and the Ridgefield Clergy Association. No registration.
We also recommend the free screening Monday evening at 7:30 at the Playhouse of the documentary film Shell Shocked, followed by a Q & A and panel on gun violence. Sponsored by the Newtown Foundation and Newtown Action Alliance. Admission is free; please call the box office at 203-438-5795 to reserve seats. More information.

Downloading Library E-Books and Audiobooks 101 Want to know how to download eBooks or audiobooks from the Ridgefield Library? Stop by anytime between 1 and 4 PM and members of our staff will be offering both an overview and one-on-one assistance in how to download both eBooks and audiobooks from our OverDrive service. Don't have an eReader and considering purchasing one? Drop in for some "hands on" time with a Kindle, Nook, or iPad. Note: Due to software restrictions, owners of some devices will not be able to transfer downloadable books to their devices inside the library. However, a staff member will demonstrate the steps and provide printed instructions on how to download from a home computer. No registration.

Affordable Care Act Enrollment Fairs

The Library will be offering several opportunities to have assisters and navigators from Access Health CT, certified by the state, available to give one on one guidance about health care coverage and enrollment. Crafty Afternoon for Teens
