Ridgefield Folk: New West Guitar Group
Sunday, December 15, 2:00 PM
Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, 258 Main Street
Ridgefield Folk presents The New West Guitar Group
Featuring Jeff Stein, John Storie and Perry Smith, New West has been making their mark as a fresh, cutting-edge guitar ensemble. Performing popular covers and original music, New West combines the acoustic and electric guitar to create their signature sound. Firmly rooted in classic jazz, the trio's versatility as both players and composers has given them a reputation as pioneers in the realm of guitar ensemble repertoire. Acoustic Guitar Magazine has praised the group for its ability to shift seamlessly "from chamber-like elegance and fragile introspection to exhilarating swing and gritty blues."

Tickets are free thanks to the Friends of the Library and can be picked up at the door on the day of the show starting at 1:00 PM..
Destination Travel: The Europe You Haven't Seen
Wednesday, December 11, 7:00 PM

Destination Travel Lecture with Susan Farewell

Come to the Europe evening of our Destination Travel Series, presented by Susan Farewell, a Connecticut-based Travel writer and travel consultant.  Susan has been traveling to and writing about travel destinations for many years, and  in the last couple of years, handcrafting trips for travelers seeking her advice.

So you've traveled to Europe. You feel you want to go back-but you want more. You want to go beyond the obvious, dig deeper into a couple of countries, explore regions, go to towns that not a lot of North American travelers visit. Sounds wonderful, but how do you start planning a trip like this? Look at a map? Search the internet? Expert and seasoned traveler Susan Farewell can help you find the answers.
