New Robotics Club Launched

Sunday, April 28, May 19 and June 2, 3:00 - 5:00 PM Library Program Room Robotics Club Calling all students in grades 5-8! Join Ridgefield resident, science teacher and coach of the Sleepy Hollow Middle School Headless Horse-bots, a First LEGO League Robotics Team, Mike Garguilo to work with robots and learn programming. The theme for this series is Alternative Energy, and our participants will be working with a LEGO Green City Challenge Board for which they will build and program robots. This is a three-part series; participants should be available for all three sessions. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Thursday, April 25, 7:00 PM Library Program Room Lecture: Naturalist John Root Edible Perennial Gardens and Landscaping is a 90-minute power point presentation featuring trees, shrubs, canes, vines, and herbaceous perennials that can be grown for produce in our region. Audiences learn organic gardening practices for cultivating healthy soils, plants, and biotic communities to ensure abundant crops of fruits, nuts, and vegetables throughout the growing season with minimal maintenance. John Root is a naturalist, teacher and musician who has presented many educational programs throughout the North East. Registration recommended.

With access to a computer, you can enroll in courses, watch lectures, and learn on your own schedule and at your own pace. Civil War Graveyard TourThe Ridgefield Graveyard Committee presents a fun, educational event for the entire family! A self-guided cemetery tour introduces you to some of Ridgefield's Civil War heroes and colorful town veterans. Re-enactors will add to the fun at selected gravesites. Come to the cemetery complex at North Street and Mapleshade Road. Parking is available in Mapleshade Cemetery and American Legion on Route 116 . Rain date 5/4/13. No registration. |

Extreme Draw On! @ the Library
|  Our partnership with the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum for Extreme Draw On! runs through May 4th. We will be hosting a "drawing horse" at our interim quarters at 21 Governor Street. Come by and make a drawing inspired by the work of our beloved Maurice Sendak. |
