Homebound Delivery a Help in Winter Months
|
Now that winter is really here, perhaps you or someone you know could benefit from our Homebound Delivery Service for those with health or mobility concerns that keep them from coming to Library in person. Even those who can get around in the good weather are sometimes shut in during the bad weather months. Don't be without the stimulation of books, audiobooks, even DVDs from the Library - delivered and picked up by a friendly volunteer. Find out more online or contact Dorothy Pawlowski at 203-438-2282 x1003.
Homebound Delivery Service is made possible by the support of the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.

What They're Saying about Libraries
|
Did you see the recent article in The New York Times entitled Libraries See Opening as Bookstores Close? While we are fortunate to have a great local bookstore in our community, it is true that libraries are finding new roles in a changing landscape. View this article and others on the Libraries of Today and Tomorrow page on our building project website.

Peace Cranes for Newtown
|
Japanese tradition has it that a gift of 1,000 origami cranes will bring peace and good luck to the recipient. A group of Ridgefield families, in cooperation with the Library, has set a goal of creating 1,000 cranes to be donated to the Cyrennius H. Booth Library in Newtown, as a sign of solidarity and sympathy with this grieving community.
Drop by the Library this week to participate and to admire the collection of cranes as it grows. You can make your crane on the spot, or pick up instructions and paper and make them at home or with a group in the community.
