Peace Cranes for Newtown
Origami cranes
Japanese tradition has it that a gift of 1,000 origami cranes will bring peace and good luck to the recipient.  A group of Ridgefield families, in cooperation with the Library, has set a goal of creating 1,000 cranes to be donated to the Cyrennius H. Booth Library in Newtown, as a sign of solidarity and sympathy with this grieving community.

Drop by the Library anytime to participate and to admire the collection of cranes as it grows. You can make your crane on the spot, or pick up instructions and paper and make them at home or with a group in the community.
iCONN.org Offline December 28-31
Please note that iCONN.org, the statewide library catalog and database portal, will be offline for a scheduled upgrade from December 28 at 7:00 PM through the 31st at 7:00 AM.

There will be no access to the statewide catalog for searching or placing Inter-Library Loan requests during this time.  A work-around URL will be provided for accessing databases such as periodical indexes and HeritageQuest.Apologies for any inconvenience - iCONN will be back better than ever in the New Year.

It's What's Inside that Counts
2012-2013 Annual Appeal
Did you know that the town of Ridgefield supplies only 75% of our operating budget each year and that we must raise the rest privately? Watch for your appeal letter in the mail or click here to find out how you can be part of our family of supporters who know that "It's what's inside that counts."
