Meet the personalities and songs that shaped the music of doo-wop, Motown, girl groups, surfin', soul, novelty tunes and much more: Little Richard to Beach Boys, Chuck Berry to Beatles, Elvis to Supremes. This program is geared towards adults and seniors but teens are also welcome to attend. No registration, but space is limited.

Exploring Connecticut's Natural Wonders with Brendan Hanrahan

Thursday, November 29, 7:00 PM Re-scheduled from November 1st

Library Program Room

CT's natural wonders Multimedia Presentation: Exploring Connecticut's Natural Wonders

Connecticut may seem tame, but look closely and you find a state where incredible discoveries about rocks, dinosaurs and wild places have been made for centuries. This award-winning program explains how our state's small size and intriguing past make it one of the best places in the world to explore natural history. It includes tales few have heard, but can be explored in little more than the time it takes to pull off the road and eat lunch.

With intriguing slides, animations and video, this program takes you on a tour of places that reveal how continents collided to build local bedrock, where our region was flooded by molten rock, where dinosaurs prowled immense lakes, where the last Ice Age left its mark-and the great variety of wild places that exist in our state today.

Presenter Brendan Hanrahan is publisher of the Road to Discovery Series of guidebooks to Connecticut's natural history.

No registration.
