Author Talk: Daniel Klein  

Join us for a talk by Daniel Klein about his latest book, Travels with Epicurus, in which he travels to Greece with a suitcase full of philosophy books, seeking the best way to achieve a fulfilled life.  Daniel Klein majored in philosophy at Harvard and then went on to write jokes for various comedians, including Flip Wilson and Lily Tomlin. He is the author, together with Thomas Cathcart, of the New York Times bestsellers Heidegger and a Hippo Walk Through Those Pearly Gates and Plato and a Platypus Walk Into a Bar. No registration.

Author and psychiatrist Mark Rubinstein who will discuss his recently released novel Mad Dog House and the relationship among psychiatry, fantasy and fiction. A gripping, harrowing, and provocative psychological thriller, Mad Dog House (Thunder Lake Press), revolves around three men-Roddy "Mad Dog" Dolan; his best friend, Danny Burns; and Kenny "Snake Eyes" Egan-who grew up in hell together and never thought it would come back to bite them. No registration.

Author Talk: Hoagy B. Carmichael  

Join us for a talk by producer and author Hoagy B. Carmichael about his latest book on fly fishing,  The Grand Cascapedia - A History. Mr. Carmichael is a film, television and theatrical producer.  He was the director/producer for "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."  Theatrical productions include "The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre" and a new musical called "Lazy River," with a score comprised of songs written by his father Hoagy Carmichael.
 
Hoagy has fished for Atlantic salmon in places like Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Labrador, Norway (eight trips), and has fished most of the well-known rivers in Canada. He has been traveling to the Grand Cascapedia River for twenty- seven years, where he is a founding member of the Cascapedia River Museum. Mr. Carmichael is also a trout fisherman, and is a member, and past president, of the Fly Fishers Club of Brooklyn on the upper Beaverkill River. No registration.
