This small desktop calendar set comes in a box with 12 thick calendar pages with a hand-made quarter-sawn oak stand. Each month is letterpress-printed on delux extra thick, 100% cotton, Crane's LETTRA card stock. All the pages were designed by Yoshiko Yamamoto and printed by hand.

Last year we managed to score a hundred feet of a beautiful hardwood cherry at close-out prices, and we passed the savings on to you.It sold so quickly that we promised we would try for more this year. As the trade show floor opened, Chelsea & Kirstie raced to the Garrett Moulding booth where we were able to purchase 1100 feet of value line cherry at prices that will delight you. This hardwood is sold to us at close-out only because the color may vary slightly from the standard sample, or because it has a few character flaws. We love it as it is and we are sure you will too. Our shipment should arrive next week.We will stock this moulding until it is once again sold out.

Later this year we'll be expanding with a new store, The Framer's Outlet, specializing in a wide selection of designer ready-made frames at budget prices. We have coveted the store-front next door to our own for many years, both for its space and windows offering greater street visibility. The lease is signed, the old interior is demolished, and we're in the process of designing the new store's interior. The Framer's Outlet will be connected to our current space via a wide doorway and will house an expanded ready-made frame collection. In addition to our unique in-house one-of-a-kind ready-made frames, we will finally have room to offer you a much better selection of beautiful ready-made frames at budget prices.
Below, Kirstie and Jeff discuss plans for the new shop's temporary window coverings. Mike will design and print them in-house. They will cover the windows while the new store is being built out.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Yoshiko Yamamoto has released a new series of note cards. The floral motifs include (pictured left): "Poppies in Bloom," "Black-eyed Susan," "Iris in Bloom," "Wild Rose," and (pictured right) "Tulips in Bloom". Each card is letter press printed by hand on acid-free paper and comes with a matching envelope. Yoshiko's cards are printed from wood or linoleum blocks, leaving a plate mark that gives a three-dimensional quality to the card's surface.
The quality of these cards not only expresses your affection but your good taste!

A Grandmother's Sorority Sweater
This beautiful letter sweater was believed to be destroyed after a house fire in Oakland. Unbeknownst to its owner, her grandson was able to have it restored and framed for her birthday. We incorporated her name and a reproduction of the sorority emblem on the front of the design and revealed the Zeta Phi Beta emblem and patch on the back of the sweater with an acrylic viewing window. Click on the image to see a larger version. We were all touched by her grandson's thoughtfulness.

We just returned from one of the best framing shows we have attended. This was the yearly West Coast Art and Frame Show, the National Conference educational event, and the Professional Picture Framer's Association's national convention. For five days we took classes, walked the trade show floor, and met with other framers from around the world. Framers who attend this event come back armed with more important knowledge in the field on preservation framing, and are able to offer their customers better framing and design choices. Kirstie also had the privilege of serving as a PPFA educator again this year. See our Pinterest Board for our collection of snapshots from the trade show floor!

This Month's Restoration
A treasured photo comes back to life
 Our photo restoration calendar was filled to capacity in December as our customers brought in precious heirlooms intended for holiday gifts. This one is an example of how our artists can recreate whole sections of a scene. In this case, we supplied a guide print for artistic guidance.
