Library Night at the Movies
Friday, March 8, 6:30pm
Prizewinner Movie Poster
Join us this Friday, March 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library Meeting Hall for a free showing of The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio, a film based on the novel by Terry Ryan. Rated PG-13.

In this 2005 film, a woman enters a commercial jingle-writing contest in order to support her ten children. Based on a true story, the film stars Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson and Laura Dern. The book was February's Library Book Discussion choice.

Online Access to the Library's Catalog
Did you know you can look up books in our online catalog to see what we have and if it's available to check out? You can even go a step farther if you want: If a book is checked out, you can reserve it for yourself.

To browse the catalog doesn't require sign-in, but if you want to see what yWeb OPAC logoou have checked out or put a hold on a book, you'll need to sign in using your Library card number. Look under My Account. Your start-up password is likely your card number, and you'll be prompted to choose another. If you have any questions, contact someone from the Library staff.

Our Library catalog goes by the name of WebHost OPAC. Find the catalog by clicking here or going to the Library section on Town website. If you want, you can bookmark the catalog web page for easy access later.

Besides our own catalog, you can also access the NH State Library's online catalog, NHU-PAC ("new-pack"), which reflects the holdings of approximately 375 public schools, academic and special libraries. Click here to access NHU-PAC online, which is coordinated by the State Library in Concord.

Download EBooks and Audiobooks

Our Library is part of the NH Downloadable Books Consortium that provides online service so that library patrons can download eBooks and audiobooks at home on their own computers.

OverDrive, the downloadable service, allows a library patron to "check out" and "reserve" eBooks and audiobooks just as if the patron were standing in the library, checking out or reserving books, CDs or audiocassettes.

You can browse the OverDrive website to find thousands of available books and recordings, check them out for a week (up to three books at a time), and read/listen to them at your home computer. You can also download them to a portable listening or reading device to take them "on the go."

We've detailed information on the Downloadable EBooks and Audio page of our website -- click here to get there. There is also a very helpful OverDrive Help section that includes tutorials, resources as well as the software you need to download in order to get started.
