Elementary Ultimate (3rd-5th)

Middle School Ultimate
Everything you need to join the spring season of Ultimate Frisbee (information, registration instructions, required forms, etc.) is right here.  

Soccer
There will be an information meeting on Monday, February 29, during middle school lunch in Room 306 for middle school boys interested in spring soccer. Tryouts begin Thursday, March 10. Additional details and required paperwork were emailed home. 

Volleyball
There will be a lunch meeting next week for middle school girls interested in spring volleyball. Practices will likely start Tuesday, March 8th. Final details coming soon. Listen for lunch meeting time and location in the homeroom bulletin.

Teen Camp Counselor Opportunity
Teens 14+ have the opportunity to help with Pacific Science Center's summer day camps while gaining valuable leadership and career skills working with our teachers and campers. Earn 100+ hours of community service requirements. More information here.

March Madness
We'll be celebrating math and literacy throughout the month of March:  
 
New Lobby Display
We'll be tracking our reading on a new lobby display. Watch our book stacks grow as we read.   
 
100th Day of School
Our primary students will be celebrating the 100th day of school next week and sharing of their collections of 100 things. 
 
March Madness Tournament of Books
We've selected the sweet sixteen and our middle school students will be voting each week to see which books advance to the next bracket. You can track the standings on the display in the library. 

Pi Night
Join us in the cafeteria from 6:30-8pm on Monday, March 14th for Pi Night. It will be a night of fun math games and delicious pies. Bring a pie (sweet or savory) to share.

Door Decorating Contest
Mid month, you'll see decorated doors popping up all over the school that feature a book or author. Take a tour and see if your favorites are on display. 

Book Fair
The Spring Book Fair is March 21-25th. All proceeds benefit our school library. We'll need volunteers to take shifts at the cash register. Look for a sign up link in next week's bulletin.

Last Call for Jazz Band 
Open to 6th-8th grade students, the Jazz Band offers students the opportunity to expand their musical knowledge through improvisation and exploration of tradition and contemporary Jazz styles.  Rhythm section includes drum set, bass, piano and guitar.

Parent Education Lecture
Jo Langford
Please join the Parent Information Exchange (PIE) Committee on Tuesday, March 8th at 7pm in the auditorium for an evening with Jo Langford.
 
Jo is a parent, a Master's-level therapist and a sex educator for boys and their parents.For the last 20 years he has worked to promote healthy, positive and safe sexual behavior. 
 
He uses information,  education  and  humor  in his presentations. Jo will walk parents through the most popular social networking sites and apps that kids are using and hearing about.
