Notes from the Library

On Tuesday, I had the pleasure of working with Augusta Castrodale, Librarian-for-the-Day! Augusta helped me with all sorts of library tasks in the morning, but we both agree that the best part of a school librarian's day happens when classes come to the library. We get to share stories, and help them find just the right book. What could be better?

The 4th grade students from Marian's class had the added bonus of being able to talk with Augusta about what 5th grade is REALLY all about. I can say with certainty that they're all very excited about their cohort's turn with Making History!

This was my first experience with having a Librarian-for-the-Day, and I'm looking forward to having two more librarians next week!

Go Panthers!

This year's varsity soccer team is a strong and talented group of boys. They ended the varsity regular season undefeated. They are really fun to watch and this weekend will be the last one you'll have to see them in action.

Children ages 5 and up are invited to attend.

July 27-31, 9:30-3:30 (after-camp care available) More details available here

This camp was established in 2002 and is a place where friendships develop between children and families who want peace in the world. The focus is a cultural connection between the Arab and Jewish communities, however non-Jewish/Arab folks, such as myself, are welcome. I have watched children grow up together in this community and become great friends. This year's theme is "Music". Your child will know some of the songs we'll sing because I've been a song leader at camp for more than 10 years.   Please contact me if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Mary K.
