As Seen In The Hallways

Teacher Appreciation Week finished with beautiful plants and flowers for all of our staff. From breakfast offerings to snacks and lunch, your gestures of appreciation were enjoyed and treasured. Many staff members have passed on messages of thanks to our parent community and although we can't print tham all here, we wanted to share this one from Sally which echoes many of the comments we received.

"Every year I look forward to the teacher appreciation lunch.  Thank you to everyone who generously gave of their food and time.  There is  something delightful, to me, about that half hour. I sit with my colleagues in relaxation and enjoyment.  The food is always amazing and the camaraderie generated is great.  Again thank you to all!

Counselor's Corner
Conversations are one of the most powerful tools parents can use to connect with-and protect-their kids. But when tackling some of life's tougher topics, especially those about drugs and alcohol, just figuring out what to say can be a challenge.

Check out this parent tool kit and this information from children's hospital for help getting those conversations going with children of all ages.

Notes From the Lunchroom

Please Note, there has been a MENU CHANGE due to the 19th being a non-school day:

Tuesday May 12th we will now be serving Fish Sticks instead of French Bread Pizza.

Wednesday May 20th we will now be serving a BBQ Chicken Sandwich & Bagel Munchable instead of Chicken Nuggets.

Also be aware that recently a lot of hot, thirsty children (especially 4th graders) have been purchasing cold bottles of water for 75 cents. This is considered an ALA CART item, and cannot be included with lunch. It is wonderful to be able to offer a healthy alternative to chocolate milk, but if you don't want your children to be spending the extra money, please let them (or Melissa, our lunchroom Manager) know.
