Mondays and Wednesdays: Playwriting
(4th/5th Grade)
Everybody has a story to tell. Through acting exercises, we will explore different themes, characters, environments, and types of conflicts that are present in students' lives. Students will have the opportunity to write individual scenes with well-defined characters, an intriguing plot, and a conclusion that ties it all together. Using ideas from the group's work, we will work together to write a full length play that may be produced at Salmon Bay next winter by K-4 students. Laura Knote, will teach this five week course which begins on April 27th and is open to 4th and 5th grade students. Space for this class is limited to 14 students. The student activity fee is $100.
Wednesdays: Theatre Tech
(4th - 8th Grade)
Salmon Bay students interested in deepening their understanding of and experience with theatre tech, including lighting, sound, and stage management are encouraged to sign up for this class taught by Michael Massey. Classes begin April 1st and culminate with running tech for the Middle School play, "Holes." Class size is limited to 12 students. The student activity fee is $100.
Thursdays: Monologue/Scene Study
(6th-8th grade priority, then 4th/5th)
