What Tribe Are You?

This photo shows the Making History map currently being used in Nicolette's classroom. The colored pieces represent different tribes. If you have a chance, ask one of the fifth graders to tell you about it. You'll notice their enthusiasm and excitement as they describe their tribe and what skills they have developed.

STEAM Careers

Some of our middle school students have created posters about STEAM careers (science, technology, engineering, art and math). They are hanging up in the west hallway. If you are in the building and have a few minutes, stop by and check them out. The range of careers represented and information shared is impressive!

How to Help Right Now

Mark your calendars for Salmon Bay School's annual auction on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at North Seattle Community College's Wellness Center.

Invitations and details are coming soon, but right now we are focused on procurement. Please consider what you can give. Can you donate a bottle of wine for our wine grab? Are you willing to offer an afternoon out on your boat or a weekend at your vacation cabin? Do you whittle or make jewelry and have a quality hand-crafted item to donate? Watch for the letter and procurement form coming to a mailbox near you and turn in your donations by March 13th. Questions about procurement? Contact Nadege Mohr.

Cowboy Lingo

It's flu season 'round these parts and many of you are just trying to get your posse healthy. But, there's no reason you can't practice your cowboy lingo for the auction while you let the chicken noodle soup simmer. Here are two phrases to get you started:

Hitch in the giddy-up: Not feeling well.

"I've had a hitch in my giddy-up the last couple days."

Off one's feed: Unable to eat, having no appetite.

"That ankle biter has been off his feed ever since he barfed last Wednesday."

Stretchin' the blanket: Telling a tall tale.

"I can't tell if she's actually sick or just stretchin' the blanket."

Questions/Contact

To volunteer in another way or find out more about the auction, contact our auction chair Stephanie Lynchor visit the Auction Bulletin Board located in the volunteer coordinators office.
