Happy Anniversary BSF!!!
|
On January 8, 2014 Brighter, Stronger Foundation celebrated its 4 year anniversary!!
To our wonderful partners, clients, and supporters:
We would like to thank you for your loyalty and support during our 4 years of serving the communities of Baltimore and surrounding counties.
Brighter, Stronger Foundation (BSF) has grown tremendously over the past 4 years, but our values remain the same as day one. We continue to pride ourselves on Quality Service, Competent Staff, and Outcome Focused Treatment. Because of your feedback and suggestions, BSF has expanded into three departments that focus on providing therapeutic community-based services.
If you have been with us all 4 years, or have just started with us on this journey, we sincerely thank you!
We truly value you and are looking forward to working with you in the upcoming years!!

Therapeutic Integration Program: Developing Computer Skills
|
In January, the T.I. program introduced computer literacy!!
Individuals were divided into 4 focus groups using the computer to increase skills in communication, activities of daily living, self-direction, and life skills.
Groups were asked to use the computer to search for interests in areas such as music, videos, pictures, or favorite artists to name a few.
Staff encouraged each individual to work as independently as possible to assist with developing and maintaining these necessary life skills.

Adult Day Program: Starting The Year Off Right
|
The Adult Day Group engaged in some healthy cooking demonstrations as they explored improving their physical health. The group also discussed techniques to forgive family, friends, and others who have caused them hurt and anger in 2013 so they did not bring that into their new year. In February the Adult Day Group will identify the different components to a healthy relationship.
To register and to make transportation arrangements, please call us at 410-485-7555

Onsite Youth Group: Leadership Skill Development
|
In honor of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the youth in our onsite program took a look at the qualities that make a great leader. When asked to name some great leaders individuals such as, President Barack Obama, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., President Nelson Mandela, and even the Avengers (Captain America, Iron Man, and the Hulk) were listed.
The youth were able to define and identify positive traits of a leader. The purpose of this group was to assist them in recognizing the importance of leadership roles in their schools, homes, and communities.
