Special Thank You to Our Seminar And Open House Guests!
|
On Thursday, October 24th Brighter, Stronger Foundation offered a seminar addressing the concerns of transitioning an adolescent with special needs to adult health care. Ms. Antoinette Coward, DHMH Health Transition Coordinator, provided our guests with a wealth of information. We truly appreciate her time and effort.
During the afternoon, after a delicious lunch, our guests were treated to guided tours of our facility. They received detailed explanations of the various services offered in the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, the Therapeutic Behavioral Services Program, and the Autism and Related Services Program.
We want to thank each and every person that took time out of their day to spend it with us!
Stayed tuned for future BSF events!!

Autism Speaks Walk and Resource Fair
|
Brighter, Stronger Foundation participated in this year's Autism Speaks Walk and Resource Fair at M&T Bank Stadium.
It was a great opportunity to meet wonderful individuals and to provide them with quality resources.
The weather was great, which most certainly attributed to the almost 6,000 individuals that attended the day's event.
It was announced that the total amount raised was $246,355!
Great job and thanks to those who joined the BSF team and donated!
Hope you can join us next year!!

| Harvest Season in the T.I Program! |
In preparation for the harvest season, the individuals in BSF's Therapeutic Integration Program were able to participate in a host of fun-filled activities!
Of particular was a thrilling field trip to Weber's Farm. While there, they were able to tour the pumpkin palace, take a hay ride, and interact with the farm animals!
To bring October to an end, there was a fall harvest festival!!
Individuals participated in seasonal games, such as, a pumpkin roll.
There were also a series of cooking activities and various arts and crafts projects!

The Youth of BSF Are Taking A Stand Against Bullying!
| |
The youth of today have so much on their shoulders. They are expected to stay out of trouble, get good grades, and respect their elders just to name a few. All things easier said than done in this society. So the saying, "It takes a village" is the truth!
We all must do our part to ensure the success of our youth.
Brighter, Stronger Foundation would like to thank Lil Black from 92Q for spending an evening with our youth to talk to them about Bullying.
They truly enjoyed spending time with someone that they could relate to.
In November the youth will explore all things to be thankful for.
