Riding Out the Storms: Sermons on Suffering from the Book of Job
Turnaround
Good Morning Hope,

We are one week away from what I believe will be the most transformational journey we have experienced together as a congregation. As a pastor, leader, and motivator I am very excited to watch what God does in our community to unify us in our commitment to build a church.

I have been imagining for awhile now what kind of congregation we will be. I see pieces of our community who love to praise God in weekend worship. I see pieces of our community who love to praise God by giving their time to serving others at church. I see pieces of our community who love to praise God in their workplace. I see people who love to praise God by caring for those in need. I see pieces of our community who love to study the Word of God and teach others in conversation and by example. I see pieces of our community who love to praise God by providing financial resources to help make mission possible. I see pieces of our community who love to praise God in prayer for the church and for the world.

I also see the world around us that is searching for life itself - for Jesus. I see a world where achievement at all cost runs rampant. I see a world where illness and death run rampant - void of any meaning or hope. I see a world where bitterness and division wreak havoc in families and cultures. I see a world where selfishness and fear turn people away from finding the love of God.

These two visions are at the heart of my deep hope and excitement in the journey ahead. We are found, we are equipped, and we are called by God himself to be the church. It is our mission to reach out to the world around us and share the everlasting love of Jesus Christ.

Jesus has been building his church for a long time. Jesus is building his church today. And Jesus will be faithful to complete the work he has begun in you and me. We are on the verge of seeing God's transformative power in our own lives...I hope and pray that you are ready.

See you this weekend at worship... and bring a friend there is plenty of room and plenty of God's love.

Pastor Eric

P.S. The Building Hope Campaign page is up - and one of the things we really need is about 100 home visit volunteers - you don't need all the details - you do need to trust your pastor - get signed up... I'll give you all the details at training. Always know I would only ask you to serve in ways that I am confident in your God-given abilities. Here is the link the page - scroll down and click on Home Visits
