CHAMPION FEATURE MR BOJANGLES ARRIVES AT JEH TEXAS TO BEGIN STALLION CAREER
FEATURE MR BOJANGLES sired by JEH Stallion FEATURE MR JESS
WHITESBORO, TX - JANUARY 3, 2013 - Champion FEATURE MR BOJANGLES recently arrived at JEH Stallion Station's Texas Division near Whitesboro, where he will begin his stallion career in 2013. His fee has been set at $2,800. The 2001 Champion 2-Year-Old son of leading sire FEATURE MR JESS will follow in his sire's footsteps when he begins his stallion career at JEH's Texas Division. Both stallions won the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity at Ruidoso Downs as 2-year-olds.
FEATURE MR BOJANGLES won or placed in 11 of 15 career starts while earning $682,324. Along with the Rainbow Futurity(G1), he also won the Grade 2 Hobbs America Futurity and the Four Corners Futurity. He was third in the Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby and finalist in the Rainbow Derby(G1), Zia Quarter Horse Championship(G1) and Hobbs America Derby(G3).
FEATURE MR BOJANGLES is the leading money earning colt by FEATURE MR JESS, the sire of earners of more than $20 million, 111 stakes horses and average earnings per starter of $32,000. Among his get are 4-time champion Heartswideopen ($1,885,283, All American Futurity-G1, etc.), 3-time champion Jess You And I $1,843,489, Champion of Champions-G1, etc.) and champion Stylish Jess Br ($803,298, Mildred N Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1, etc.).
FEATURE MR BOJANGLES dam is the First Down Dash mare Catch This Dash, a half-sister to champion Jumping Tac Flash ($147,065), champion and leading sire Splash Bac ($135,505), G2 winner Goinbye ($52,471), stakes-placed Absolve ($113,433), Lady Nayen ($65,083) and Chicks Boudro ($42,425), etc. This is the immediate family of 2012 #3 leading first crop sire Carters Cartel and 2012 #4 leading second crop sire Tac It Like A Man.

PROSPECT TO THE TOP CLOSES YEAR WITH GRADE 1 WIN IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP AT SUNLAND PARK
PROSPECT TO THE TOP sired by JEH Stallion FEATURE MR JESS
SUNLAND PARK, NM - DECEMBER 30, 2012 - Last year's champion 3-year-old colt made a final bid to repeat as the champion aged stallion of 2012 following a convincing win in the Grade 1 $350,000 The Championships at Sunland Park on Sunday afternoon.
Under regular rider Oscar Rincon, PROSPECT TO THE TOP broke on top before cruising away from an elite field of runners while covering the 400 yards in :19.03 seconds. Winning by a half-length, the $210,00 winner's purse boosted his lifetime earnings mark to $977,150. Mario Sanchez saddled the ten-time winner.
After standing his first season at stud earlier this year, Joel Tavarez' PROSPECT TO THE TOP returned to track last August with a second place effort in the Mr Jet Moore Handicap(G3) at Ruidoso Downs. He came back a month later to stop champion Noconi's bid to win another All American Gold Cup(G3). On December 2 he won the Grade 1 Zia Park QH Championship.
He is the only horse to sweep all three of Zia Park's premier races at age two, three and four. Sue May bred the son of Coronas Prospect in Texas from the Easily Smashed mare Cream To The Top. Prospect At The Top will return to stud duty at JEH Stallion Station's Texas Division for 2013.
Also capping off a great year, Melissa Miller's homebred Jess Featureme Quick put in a good effort to finish second. The $73,500 second place check boosted his seasonal total to $419,882. AQHA Racing's Champion trainer Paul Jones had previously saddled Jess Featureme Quick to third place finish in the Zia Park QH Championship(G1) and had won the Hobbs America Derby(G3), prior to that. The FEATURE MR JESS gelding, out of One Quick Cookie by Royal Quick Dash, was also third in the 2012 $2,234,539 All American Derby(G1) at Ruidoso Downs.
Jones' also saddled New Mexico-bred First Blazin Love to a third place finish, a half-length behind Jess Featureme Quick. Jones' assistant Lisa Saumell owns the Chicks A Blazin 3-year-old in partnership with Dwayne Johnson and Johnny Martinez. First Blazin Love pocketed $35,000 for his effort, bringing his career total to $386,236. Mike Abraham bred the chestnut colt.
Tf Feature Effort, Dm Streakin Thru Fire, The Long Knife, Miracle Snow, Block N Tackle, Llano Teller and Kool Country Man completed the field.

FEATURE MY NEWS RETURNS IN HIALEAH PARK QUARTER HORSE DERBY
Feature My News sired by JEH Stallion FEATURE MR JESS
HIALEAH, FL - DECEMBER 30, 2012 - Fastest qualifier Feature My News returned Sunday afternoon to win the $192,520 Hialeah Park Quarter Horse Derby. It was his second derby win this year.
Under jockey Shanley Jackson, the Alicia Hill Smith 3-year-old completed the 440 yards in :21.771 seconds to pickup the winner's purse. Matt Frazier conditioned the FEATURE MR JESS colt to his third consecutive win. The $80,859 winner's purse pushed his total earnings mark to $167,683.
After going winless as a two-year-old, Feature My News found his stride in 2012, putting together a 3-2-1 record from eight starts . W.W. McKibbin bred Feature My News in Florida from the Dash Of Romance mare Goodnews Montanna. Two races back he captured the $85,000 QHRAI Derby at Hoosier Park.
Rancho Los Dos Potrillos, LLC's Sstrickortreat finished a game second. Brandon Muniz trains the gelding. Freddie Martinez was aboard the Ronnie Stewart and Janet Vanbebber Texas bred. Sstrickortreat picked up $34,654 for the effort, pushing his total earnings to $168,794.
The lightly raced Sizzling Perry finished third for owner Wade Helton and trainer Alfredo Gomez. Julianna Hawn Holt bred the gelding in Texas. In seven starts he is 1-1-1. Raul Gutierrez had the riding assignment, earning $23,102 for the effort.
Completing the field were Country Boy Deluxe, Tf First Pick, This Panther Purrs, Logans Dash, Mr Sonic Boom, Wave Carvers Cartel and Texasindependencegal.

BOARD CERTIFIED EQUINE SURGEON DR. TROY HOLDER JOINS JEH ERS STAFF
WHITESBORO, TX - JEH Equine Reproduction Specialists is pleased to announce our first Board Certified Equine Surgeon joined our staff in December.
Dr. Troy Holder completed his surgical residency training at the University of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee in June of 2007. He received training from three very accomplished Board Certified Equine Surgeons, Dr. Steve Adair, Dr. Jim Schumacher and Dr. Jim Blackford.
"Troy is very excited to be joining our team, and looks forward to providing you and your horse with the best and most professional care it may need," JEHERS's Jim Helzer said.
In July of 2007, Dr. Holder joined the faculty of Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Equine department. He functioned as their emergency surgeon and critical care specialist. Dr. Holder's experience and training now allows JEHERS to offer full service equine surgical, internal medicine, critical care and advanced lameness diagnosis on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year.
Dr. Holder spent the last two years in a large full service referral practice south of Portland, Oregon. He is from the Caribbean Island of Barbados and relocated to North America in 2002. He completed an intensive surgical internship at The London Equine Hospital in London, Ontario Canada in June of 2003. This practice was the leading private surgical referral practice in the province of Ontario and performed approximately 1,500 surgeries per year. Dr. Holder then completed a large animal rotating internship at the University of Tennessee from 2003-2004.
