Recognizing Achievement, Community at Commencement 2015
"I have to say, we did it!," said senior speaker Bailey Judson, greeting the Class of 2015 on what turned out to be a beautiful Albion College Commencement after a showery start May 9 on the Quadrangle.
The ceremony was actually the second for the Class of 2015; a mini Commencement was held the evening before, May 8, for the seven men’s lacrosse seniors who played in the NCAA Division III tournament in Delaware, Ohio.

For Davises, It’s the Albion Ties That Bind
Together, Bud and Olivia Davis have been among the College's most faithful supporters, giving their time — Bud served as a trustee from 1973 to 1982 — and financial contributions to numerous campus projects over the years.
Bud and Olivia have provided a generous gift for Phase II of Albion's campaign to improve its outdoor athletic facilities. In honor of their gift, the area encompassing the new and upgraded playing fields will be named the Davis Athletic Complex.
On May 9 at Commencement, Albion College President Mauri Ditzler presented Bud Davis with the Briton Medallion in honor of all the ways the Davises have advanced Albion College and the Albion community.

Marc Roy to Become Next Albion Provost
Albion College named Marc Roy its next provost and vice president for academic affairs, effective July 1.
Roy brings to Albion a career-long dedication to the liberal arts and sciences that stretches more than 25 years at nationally recognized institutions. Since 2007, he has served as provost and chief academic officer at Goucher College in Maryland.

For Albion Biology Students, a Conference Experience to Remember
Seven biology students notched a major achievement in their Albion College careers by having their abstracts selected as part of the 2015 Experimental Biology conference, an annual gathering of six leading associations in disciplines ranging from anatomy and physiology to biochemistry and nutrition.
With the selection comes the opportunity to display both a research poster at the event and, of course, the experience on one’s CV. For two of the students—Safiya Syed, ’16, and Morgan Carey, ’15—the trip to Boston last month brought additional accolades, ones not usually bestowed on undergraduates.

Albion Hall of Fame Winners Announced
Albion is proud to announce the 2015 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees.
A ceremony honoring the recipients will be held on Friday, October 17, at 6 p.m. in Baldwin Hall. The event, part of Albion College Homecoming festivities, is open to the public.
