Albion College to Offer Tuition, Room, Board for Top Local Students
Albion College is expanding and deepening its commitment to the City of Albion, its revitalization, and to its high school- and college-age students with the launch of the Build Albion Fellows Program.
Beginning in fall 2015, Albion College will meet the four-year costs of tuition, room, and board for up to 10 first-year students who attended Albion Public Schools for a minimum of three years (grades 6-8). Students must also live within the Albion Public Schools district and demonstrate high financial need.
This initiative is another way for Albion College to express its gratitude to its host community, but it truly is much more than that, said President Mauri Ditzler. This represents a bold, confident, and important step forward for Albionthe city and the college. Its a step that will feature the citys next generation of leaders and impact-makers, as Albion College students, building their town of tomorrow.

Albion Connections Make Internship Possible
Making connections - that's the advantage of a small college like Albion.
Take Ryan Watson, '16, whose finance internship at Dimplex Thermal Solutions, Inc. was made possible by his basketball coach, Jody May, and Keith Roberts, '81, director of finance at the cooling solution provider.
"Coach May, knowing my enthusiasm for Albion atheltics, suggested to Ryan that he contact me about the opportunity for an internship," Keith says. "Ryan called and I met him for the first time after a basketball game. And the rest, they say, is history."
Ryan started with Dimplex in early July and has worked there through the fall. The opportunity at Dimplex has given Ryan good investment and finance experience.
"This internship, and Keith, has been amazing," Ryan says. "It has allowed me to get that work experience to put on my resume for the future, while helping me focus on what I really want to do with my life after school."
"I just find it great that the internship opportunity came from a coach who is connected enough with his players and their educational requirements, and the alumni base," Keith says.
Keith and Ryan are also Delton Kellogg High School alumni.

Thanks for Giving
As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we want to thank you for putting Albion College first this year! Your loyal and generous support gave students, like us, an opportunity to explore what we want to do in the world through research materials, funds to support the cost of tuition, and other ways to help us learn and expand our minds. Thank you for being a part of the change!
Albion Student-Athletes Treat Local Kids to Fun on Halloween
The student-athletes on the Albion College womens basketball team didnt have any time to catch their breath on Halloween.
The 17 student-athletes went directly from practice for the upcoming season to a tent on campus where they distributed candy to hundreds of local children who turned out for the colleges Spooktacular.
It gave us an opportunity to get dressed up in costume and be silly, sophomore guard Olivia Savage said. We forget how fun it is to be a kid on Halloween sometimes.
