Six Honored As Distinguished Alumni
An airline CEO, the founder of a camp for children with serious health issues, and President Obama’s campaign finance manager are among Albion College’s 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients. The awardees were honored October 11 as part of Albion’s Homecoming Weekend festivities.
This year’s ceremony included the first presentation of the Distinguished Service Award, to Joe Serra, ’82, president of one of the nation’s largest retail automotive enterprises.

Marissa Cloutier, '14: Considering Community Health in Ghana
Marissa Cloutier, '14, spent much of last summer in Ghana interning with Global Medical Brigades (GB), a nonprofit sustainable development organization that provides health care and development assistance to poor communities in Central America and Africa.
During her internship, Cloutier traveled to seven communities in Ghana gathering cultural information that would help GB develop programs suited to each community's specific needs and customs.

Randall Presidential Portrait Unveiled
at Homecoming
Faculty, staff, students and alumni gathered to welcome a new face to Albion College with the October 11 dedication of Chancellor Donna Randall's portrait. The work by Leslie Adams (left) was commissioned by the Board of Trustees to honor Randall's six-year tenure as president.

Career Visions Trip Connects
with Chicago Alumni
Eight students traveled to Chicago October 20-22 to make networking connections and meet professional alumni, including Melissa Mabry Caldcleugh, '03 (far left), at ESPN.
"The trip provided a group of enthusiastic students information on living and working in Chicago, obtaining needed experience to get access to certain career fields, developing their own personal brand, and information about different careers," says Troy Kase, director of Albion's career and internship center. "It was a unique experience where students can connect with alumni and strong supporters of Albion College."

Young Alumni Award Nomination Deadline Extended to Nov. 7
Do you know young alumni who have excelled in their careers since graduating from Albion College? If so, complete a brief nomination form online and nominate them for a "Top 10 in 10" award. Campus Spirit On Display
"We are always looking for ways to better the appearance of campus through high-impact visuals," says John Thompson, Albion's associate vice president for marketing. "In the case of the new light post banners (above), we saw the opportunity to add a splash of color to the campus, and at the same time, increase Albion College pride."
