City Wins Two Planning Awards
The Central Coast chapter of the American Planning Association awarded the City's General Plan an Award of Excellence for Comprehensive Planning, focusing on the Sustainability Framework and Land Use Element. The General Plan was also selected as the Jurors Choice. The City's Climate Action Plan received an Award of Merit for Innovation in Green Community Planning.

New Storm Drain Markers
The City, with the help of community volunteers, has begun an effort to install new storm drain markers throughout the City. The markers remind community members that anything which enters the storm drain system will flow directly to creeks and ocean untreated. The metal markers are designed to last longer than the older plastic markers.
