Cornelia Family Movie Night | Put on your pajamas and grab your favorite pillow for this year's Cornelia Family Movie Night featuring Disney Pixar's Brave, an enchanting story of a young girl named Merida who uses determination to make her own path in life. Join us in the gym for this free event on Friday, December 7th at 6:30pm. Treats are provided at no cost so stop by for a fantastic evening of friendship and fun! |
Parents Night Out: Help Needed | We're looking for additional help soliciting local businesses and organizations to donate items for the silent auction at Parents Night Out (which will be held January 26, 2013). The auction is the main fundraiser of the event, and the more great items we have to auction, the more money our fundraiser makes for Cornelia!
No experience necessary! Your help with even just a few businesses makes this event stronger. We have advice, templates, contact information and more to help you, and we can help you select the type of organizations you would be most comfortable contacting.
It's a very rewarding job - and it's all from home! Please contact Leslie Iyer at leslie_iyer@yahoo.com if you have some time and energy to give in the coming 8 weeks. |

Flowers for Algernon |
Valley View Middle School Students in 8th and 9th grades will perform "Flowers for Algernon" at the Edina Performing Arts Center on November 29, 30, and December 1, 2012 at 7:00pm.
This is the compelling story of Charlie and the strange interweaving of his life with
that of Algernon, a mouse. Experimental surgery has been performed on Algernon increasing his intelligence fourfold. The operation is tried on Charlie, who rapidly changes, far more intelligent than his teacher, Alice Kinnian, or the doctors who created the operating technique. As Charlie approaches the peak of his brilliance, Algernon shows frightening symptoms of regression. The play becomes a race against time in which Charlie tries to keep his new intelligence long enough to save himself and thus continue what he and Alice have found. This is a different kind of play: poignant, romantic, funny and tragic, but with hope of man's indomitable spirit |
