Recent innovative development of a space illustrates the Libraries work to enable learning and creation of new knowledge through informed engagement with data, information, and historic artifacts. You likely associate such spaces with a library-that place where organized collections of books, journals, and other sources of information are housed and made accessible for study and research. What might not so easily fit with your notion of a library is  what happens within and beyond the physical building.

Records Management Archivist Alexis Antracoli Receives 2014 President's Award

On Monday, November 3, 2014, Drexel faculty and staff gathered for the annual President's Awards held in Main Building. The Awards recognize exceptional full and part-time faculty and professional staff. The Libraries' Alexis Antracoli was named as the recipient of the Award for Excellence for Professional Staff at the 2014 awards.

Perry Chapman Prize to Fund Study at Drexel of Spatial Relationships and Student Learning

New research to study how physical conditions influence learning outside of the classroom at Drexel was selected for the Perry Chapman Prize. The prize funds research in  planning and design, and is intended to further the research, development and dissemination of emerging knowledge to improve environments in support of an institution's mission.


Innovative New Legacy Center Site Provides Opportunity to Interact with Collections Online

Drexel University's The Legacy Center holds a wealth of information about the history of women in medicine. A developer from the Libraries, Chris Clement, worked with staff at The Legacy Center to build an engaging new site pulling together materials to tell dynamic stories about women in medicine.

The Libraries Administrative Office: Q & A with Ann Yurcaba, Director of Library Administration 

As with many administrative offices, the work being done is often behind-the-scenes preparing, planning, organizing and managing the operations of an organization. This is no different for the Libraries administrative office, which processes thousands of invoices a year ensuring access to collections,recruits for open positions, manages the library facilities and more.
