Dell's Desk - Dell Sanders, General Manager
May is an important month. Not only because RVers around the country are starting to hit the highways and by-ways in earnest but because of the number of often forgotten special days...
- May 3rd, is International Tuba Day (I'm not making this up.) This day recognizes musicians around the world who struggle with the weight and size of their big instrument.
- May 4th, is National Candied Orange Peel Day (yes - really!) Candied orange peels are a boiled, sliced, sugar added treat. You can eat them by themselves. But most often, they are used in holiday cookies, snacks, and fruitcake.
- May 5th, is National Hoagie Day - created to give us a special day to enjoy and celebrate a big, tasty hoagie. You know of this big sandwich as a hoagie, a sub or a hero.
- May 14th, is Dance Like a Chicken Day - for those who like to do the "Chicken Dance". All 'ya gotta do is dance like a chicken. (Something we just live for, I know.)
There are too many more special days to list here. I think we should all celebrate them in our own way. I can eat a hoagie every day. I'll check the freezer for any leftover fruitcake. I will dance like a chicken in the privacy of my own home. Find a tuba player? Can you help me with that?
Anyhow, enjoy the month of May. And, stop by the store to say hello. We'll be here.

Service Desk - Mark Maness, Service Manager
One maintenance item often overlooked by motorhome owners is the hydraulic jack system. Sometimes the jacks will not retract all the way. Sometimes they will not extend down enough to hit the ground. To avoid issues like these do the following on a regular basis:
- Check the oil level with all leveling jacks and hydraulic slideouts (if any) retracted.
- Top off the reservoir with HWH Specialty Hydraulic Oil or Dexron automatic transmission fluid (never use motor oil).
- Check all battery terminal connections; make sure they are tight and free from corrosion.
- Check electrical connections at pump especially ground connections.
- Wipe dirt and debris from extended jack shafts before retracting.
- Add grease to zerk fittings if present at jack wiper seals.
NOTE: Refrain from extending jacks to maximum stroke or leveling on soft sand/gravel. This could cause the jack to bend and have to be replaced.

Part s Desk - David Sanders, Parts Manager
Did you know that we are a DISH satellite distributor? We have been for a number of years now. DISH has introduced the Tailgater system that I think may be the best choice for many RVers.
You can take the Tailgater® Portable Satellite Antenna to the park, the mountains, or the parking lot before the big game, and enjoy live HD TV wherever the fun takes you.
With Pay-As-You-Go TV, there is no contract required, so you pay only for the months you use. When the season is over, simply stop your service without penalty.
The Tailgater is paired with the HD Solo Receiver - Model ViP® 211k
We have this combo in stock. Call us for details and pricing.

Sales Desk - Ritchie Gillam, Sales Manager
Sales of both new and used RVs have increased dramatically this year. That may be a good economic indicator. As a result we have new units on order from Airstream, Apex, Rockwood and Trailmanor.
Many of the RVs we take in trade are moving quickly too. At this moment we have about 12 pre-owned RVs on the lot. In addition, there are several used units being made ready for presentation.
I invite you and your friends to come on by and take a look at both our new and used units. And, remember, I have a highly discounted "Manager's Special" every month. |
