Director's Message

After 42 years of work for the library, Ruth Anne Muller will be retiring at the end of this month. We are planning a retirement party for Sunday, January 10th so please save the date. If you would like to bring something to the party to share, a memory, a food, a poem or something else you think Ruth Anne would enjoy please call or email so we can include it in the planning.

Before Ruth Anne leaves she is busily cataloging a huge collection of jazz cds that were donated anonymously in honor of Tim Barcone who owned Barcone's Music in Kingston.  He was passionate about music and the power it had to enrich lives. Tim was a saxophone player, repair technician and craftsman and had a particular love for jazz.

The elves are busy preparing for the best holiday fair ever! We will send out a separate email in a few days about the holiday fair because there is so much to share. The quilt pictured above has no two squares alike, and all the fabrics are holiday themed. It was donated by the community quilting group and will be raffled at the holiday fair. We also have a hand knit scarf given in appreciation of the knitting group, and a wooden bear sculpture, along with three amazing gift bags. This is the year to get raffle tickets!

Please note the following holiday closings for the library: closed on Friday December 25, Saturday, December 26, Wednesday December 31, and Thursday, January 1, and there will be no children's story hour on Tuesday, December 29.

See you at the library!

Library Beehive Project
Update-Safety glass has arrived

Local Boy Scout, Blake Overton, is building an observation beehive for the library thanks to many donations raised in the past year. He is now in the construction phase of the project. The safety glass arrived recently which will allow us to observe the bees. As you can tell from the picture, the hive is quite large! The hive fits into a kiosk which Blake designed, drew in a CAD program and which he is also building.
