Director's Message

We are planning for a knock-out summer reading program with events and offering for all ages. Don't miss the summer reading kickoff carnival on Friday, July 3, 1:00 p.m. We put so much emphasis on summer reading because, first, because summer is a great time for pleasure reading, and second because so many studies have shown that students who read over the summer improve in school, whereas those that don't lose ground over the summer. Adults will also be able to learn some new skills, and meet new people during special programs. We will have raffle baskets appealing to all age groups, and the more you read, the more chances you get to win. Sign ups will be at the carnival.

On June 20, SIREN Baroque will return for the third year in a row to play gorgeous and sultry music of the Baroque era for us. Their concerts are a great way to treat yourself to the sounds of early instruments and composers. This 5:00 p.m. concert is a great way to celebrate the summer solstice.

On Monday nights from 5-6 p.m. we will be doing pollinator garden maintenance. If you want to come help out, just show up, there's always something to do.

See you at the library!
