Open meeting to consider proposed rulemaking for regulation of automated trading. The proposal, which could be months-or longer-away, will focus primarily on strategies to control market disruptions, will be principles-based, and build on existing industry best practices, CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad said earlier in November. Last month, he said the agency plans to lay out requirements for testing and supervising automated algorithms to ensure they can be stopped in emergencies.
