The window for commenting on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's recent roundtable discussion on how derivatives are chosen for mandatory trading closes today. At the July session, CFTC Commissioner Mark Wetjen said the process for making swaps available for mandatory on-exchange trading should be led by his agency and not swap execution facilities. However, several participants in the discussion suggested hybrid approaches involving both the CFTC and SEFs to initiate and make such mandatory trading determinations.
