The Bank of England Financial Policy Committee publishes the record of its Dec. 8 meeting, when it discussed risks to financial stability from rising geopolitical tensions and a decline in oil prices. 9:30am in London (4:30am EST).

Wednesday, Dec. 24

Christmas Eve. The New York Stock Exchange closes at 1pm EST and U.S. bond markets close at 2pm EST. It's also a half day for many European bourses.

Thursday, Dec. 25

Christmas Day. U.S. stock and bond markets and major European bourses are closed.

Friday, Dec. 26

Most European bourses are closed.
