MONDAY | In the Oval Office, President Obama meets with Prince William - on a visit to the World Bank to discuss illegal wildlife trafficking - before an appearance on Comedy Central's "Colbert Report." The SEC's chief accountant, an SEC commissioner, and the PCAOB chair will speak at a conference. House Democrats hold a conference call briefing to discuss TPP negotiations; TPP chief negotiators will be in Washington all week.

 

TUESDAY | CFTC agricultural advisory committee meets to discuss the agency's proposed position limits, aimed at addressing concerns that prices are being driven up by speculators at the expense of companies holding positions to meet business needs. Agricultural and energy firms are concerned the new rules would limit their ability to hedge risk on a daily basis. The Fed meets on capital surcharges for systemically important bank holding companies.

 

WEDNESDAY | FDIC holds a meeting to provide advice and recommendations on issues regarding the resolution of systemically important financial institutions under the Dodd-Frank Act. Senate Agriculture Committee hears from the CFTC chief on derivatives rules. Senate Banking Committee plans a hearing on how to enhance coordination to protect the financial sector from cyber attacks. Possible House action on omnibus appropriations package.

 

THURSDAY | Possible Senate passage of omnibus appropriations package, after which the measure is expected to be sent to the President's desk for his signature before a current funding measure expires at midnight.
