5th Annual Festival of Lights
The 5th annual Festival of Lights event at New England College has come again! This year the Multicultural Education class, with the aid of TEACH and TEAMNEC (students traveling to Nicaragua for service learning in January) will be setting up booths to celebrate holidays of light. There will be food, activities, and a silent auction to benefit the Nicaragua trip. The silent auction will include items such as knitted items, gift certificates, jewelry, and other goods. All money raised at the silent auction will go to support travel expenses for the New England College students who will work with Outreach 360 to teach English to children in Jinotega, Nicaragua (one of the poorest cities in the Western Hemisphere) during winter break. Learning English will give the Nicaraguan children more job opportunities in the future. If you would like to attend the Festival of Lights come by the Simon Center Great Room of New England College between 9 am and 4 pm on Thursday, December 6. The address is 98 Bridge Street, Henniker, NH 03242. If you have any donations for the silent auction drop them off before or in the first hour of the event. Hope to see you there!
