Intellitech Relocates to Pinellas
Bringing Jobs & Manufacturing Technology
Maryland company projected to create 15 jobs with
more than $2 million capital investment

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla (September 15, 2016) -  Intellitech, manufacturer of liquid filling and closure machinery used in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, has announced the completion of their relocation from Maryland to Pinellas County, Florida.  The company expects to bring 15 manufacturing and headquarters-related jobs to their new location at 11801 28th Street North, St. Petersburg, and to invest over $2 million in the region.

Governor Rick Scott said, "I am proud to announce today that Intellitech has completed their headquarters relocation from Maryland to Pinellas County. Intellitech chose to move their company to Florida because they were looking for the most business-friendly environment to grow and create new jobs. That is why we are continuing to work each day to cut taxes and make Florida more competitive so we can continue to attract growing businesses."

"We're celebrating our 21st year in business, and this relocation will help to push Intellitech to our next level of growth," said Barbara Biller, President of Intellitech.  "Pinellas' medical device manufacturing and life sciences sectors make the City of St. Petersburg the ideal location for Intellitech to connect to both our suppliers and customers."

Through proven speed to market and targeted market niche penetration, Intellitech is positioned for the next level of growth. Since moving to Pinellas in December 2015, Intellitech has found new suppliers in Pinellas County, including ComTech Precision Machine, Inc. and Legacy Custom Plastics, LLC to provide the company's fabricated and molded proprietary parts.  Most importantly, Intellitech recently closed a large contract with Pinellas firm, VistaPharm - (manufacturer and distributor of quality generic pharmaceutical products) to supply precision liquid-filling equipment.

Florida is home to the nation's second largest medical device manufacturing industry. Pinellas County has the largest manufacturing employee base in the Tampa Bay region, with over 30,000 manufacturing employees in the county, and more than 60,000 in the Tampa Bay MSA.

"I'd like to welcome Barbara and her team at Intellitech to Pinellas," said Commissioner Charlie Justice, Chair of the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. "She is joining a very supportive and successful business community, and we are excited to be part of her plans to expand her company."

"I welcome Intellitech to the Sunshine City from Maryland," said City of St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman. "St. Petersburg has strong specialized manufacturing and life sciences clusters that will provide both a base of workforce talent as well as a great customer base for this growing company. St. Petersburg is an innovative, creative and competitive community that offers one of the best lifestyles for families in the country."

"Intellitech is a great addition to our biotech sector and we're very pleased Barbara selected Pinellas," said Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development. "I'd like to recognize Governor Scott, Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners and the City of St. Petersburg for their support and partnership."

"I want to welcome Intellitech to Florida and thank them for choosing to bring their innovative technology to the state," said Crystal Sircy, Executive Vice President and COO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. "Florida's advanced manufacturing and life science industries continue to grow and Intellitech is a great addition to those sectors."

"Intellitech's relocation to Pinellas County shows that our efforts to position Florida as the best place for business are working," said Cissy Proctor, Executive Director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. "Florida's strong bio-tech and life sciences sector will help grow Intellitech's business and we are happy to welcome them to the Sunshine State."
