GeniusCentral Grand Opening
GeniusCentral Systems is now open for business in St. Petersburg, after an Oct. Grand Opening. The retail software solutions and actionable intelligence company announced the relocation and expansion of its headquarters to Pinellas in March. The new location brings with it a projected 40 new jobs and an additional 16,000 square feet of space in St. Petersburg's Enterprise Zone.

Priatek Plaza Now Open in St. Petersburg
On September 17, Pinellas County's tallest office tower was renamed Priatek Plaza. Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners Chair John Morroni, Commissioner Karen Seel, Commissioner Kenneth Welch and St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman congratulated Priatek's CEO, Milind Bharvirkar, at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Commissioner Morroni welcomed the company on behalf of the BCC, saying "This is a bold move for a bold company with big dreams. I can tell you that you've made the right choice and our community is ready to welcome and support you as you grow your business."

Pinellas County Job Corps Update
The Pinellas County Job Corps Center is currently ranked 17th nationally out of 125 centers in the U.S., and is running at full capacity. On August 28th, Congressman David Jolly congratulated the most recent 82 graduates on completing the program, as they move forward to advanced training, careers, college and military service. This year, the Job Corps students completed 7,000 hours of community service with organizations such as St. Petersburg Grand Prix, Relay for Life, Boyd Hill, Pinellas Hope, Pet Pal Animal Shelter, Mercy Seekers and babysitting foster youth with the Pinellas Opportunity Council. And, the Pinellas County Job Corps Women's Basketball Team won the 2015 Job Corps National Championship! Celebrate Manufacturing Day, Oct. 2

Opportunities for Florida Companies at the US Welcome Pavilion at the Rio Summer Games
The US Welcome Pavilion is a collaborative effort to promote economic development, international trade and travel to the United States with support from public and private sector business and tourism sponsors. The goal is to provide an educational center where US-based companies and public sector organizations can highlight both business and recreational opportunities to the eight million attendees expected during the Rio Summer Games from August 5 - 21, 2016. Free paper shredding, Oct. 10
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Solid Waste Administration Building, 3095 114th Ave. N., St. Petersburg (the first driveway south of 118th Avenue North on 28th Street North). Residents can bring up to six file-size boxes or bags per vehicle. Staples, rubber bands, paper clips and paper folders are allowed, but documents should be removed from three-ring binders.
All documents brought to the event will be shredded confidentially on-site by ShredQuick, and the shredded papers will then be recycled. More information about ShredQuick is available at www.shredquick.com.
