Pinellas County: The Clear Choice for Crystal Clear Technologies' Expansion

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (Jan. 28, 2013) -  For more than five years, Crystal Clear Technologies has provided telecommunications support to the U.S. Department of Defense from its Pinellas County, Florida headquarters. When the company's rapid growth created a need for expansion, it was a St. Petersburg location that fit the bill. 

"We've grown from five to 32 employees," explains Crystal Culbertson, CEO, "and have received terrific business support. There was absolutely no reason to look anywhere else."

The certified Woman-Owned Small Business worked with St. Petersburg's Economic Development Division to discuss the advantages of locating in an Enterprise Zone. Crystal Clear's 5,000-square-foot expansion came in the form of renovations to an existing property at 5555 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. For the project, the company chose St. Petersburg's Hayes Cummings Architects and used Herman Construction. Both companies have offices on Central Avenue. 

"The benefits of a business choosing to expand here in Pinellas go beyond the retention of a single company," says Scott Talcott, Pinellas County Economic Development Business Development Manager. "By redeveloping an existing site for its expansion, Crystal Clear infused money into our economy and created work for other local businesses." 

The company plans to keep its previous building for future expansion needs.

Crystal Clear Technologies has been on the Inc. 5000 list for the past two years and expects to continue its success long into the future. City of St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster stopped by the company's headquarters personally to offer his congratulations, meet with the leadership team and thank them for choosing St. Petersburg.

"We're very committed to the local business community," asserts Culbertson, who is working with her associate Jenee St. John to help develop and launch a Tampa Bay Chapter of Women in Defense.

"Our motto is 'Serving Those Who Serve'", offers Culbertson, "and we hope to continue that service for many years to come."
