Russia Conducts Test of New ICBM Designed to Defeat U.S. Defenses
Russian official: 'We tested an intercontinental ballistic missile which I call 'a missile defense killer''
Russia conducted the first flight test of a new inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) that Russian officials say is designed to defeat U.S. missile defenses.
The prototype ICBM was launched yesterday from Moscow's Kapustin Yar missile range, a spokesman for Russian Defense Ministry told state media.
U.S. and Russian officials describe the new missile as a road-mobile missile known as Yars-M that is slated for deployment later this year.
On Friday, Russian Deputy Premier Dmitri Rogozin said the new missile was designed specifically to defeat U.S. missile defenses-a key Russian priority for its strategic nuclear arms buildup.
Obama Admin Considering Resettling Syrian Refugees in U.S. and These Are the States Where They May Go
The Blaze | Sharona Schwartz | Jun. 11, 2013 9:09am
The Obama administration is considering resettling some refugees who have escaped war-torn Syria in the United States, a development first reported by the Los Angeles Times on Sunday and later confirmed by the State Department.
According to the Times, the resettlement of the refugees would be "part of an international effort that could bring thousands of Syrians to American cities and towns."
Senator Obama 'Debates' President Obama on Gov't Surveillance, Civil Liberties
The Blaze | Jason Howerton | Jun. 11, 2013 11:21pm
In what he called a "Hannity exclusive" on Tuesday night, Sean Hannity brought Senator Barack Obama on to his TV show to "debate" President Barack Obama on the issue of surveillance and civil liberties.
To be sure, the contrast between Obama's past positions and the ones his administration has taken during his time in the White House is stark.
Police Confiscate Veteran's Antique Guns Following a Visit With His Therapist
The Blaze | Billy Hallowell | Jun. 11, 2013 12:25pm
Arthur Lovi, 72, is in an ongoing legal battle with authorities after his antique guns were confiscated following a controversial session he had with a therapist.
His counselor claims that, during the appointment, he threatened a doctor who, years ago, treated his deceased wife. After the session in question, she called the Arlington Heights police in Illinois to report his controversial comments. While reporting the incident, she also told authorities that she didn't think it was a viable threat and that he wasn't a danger to himself or others.

The movie " Corpus Christi " is due to be released this June to August. A disgusting film set to appear in America later this year depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theaters for a while. It's called " Corpus Christi " which means "The Body of Christ". It's revolting mockery of our Lord. But we can make a difference.
That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. If you do send this around, we just might be able to prevent this film from showing in Canada and America . Let's stand for what we believe in and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. Where do we stand as Christians? At the risk of a bit of inconvenience, I'm forwarding this to all I think would appreciate it, too. Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord. There is no petition to sign, no time limit, or minimum number of people to send this to.. It will take you less than 2 minutes!
If you are not interested and do not have the 2 minutes it will take to do this, please don't complain when God does not have time for you because He is far busier than we are. Hey it's worth a shot! Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film. All we need is a lot of prayer and a lot of e-mails.
JUST GET THE WORD OUT!
Please stop using Gmail. Gmail is part of Zgoogle and Google sits on the right hand of President Obama. They track everything that you do. James Rosen of Fox News used Gmail.
Google Needs Extra Time to Spy on Your Kids
It seems that Google is constantly falling afoul of conservatives, consumers, pundits, regulators and really everyone else on earth (except for the Obama campaign) for its privacy-infringing tendencies.
It got hammered for "alleged" spying in the Safarigate scandal, where it wound up agreeing to a record-breaking $22.5 million fine in connection with charges it surreptitiously tracked Apple Safari users who Google had said could opt out of tracking, and did what Google said was necessary to opt out. This spying of course enabled Google to grab data it shouldn't have had, to improve its highly profitable targeted ad business, and do it in a way that amounted to a violation of its contract with users. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
Patriotic Summer Movie!
FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GODS AND GENERALS AND GETTYSBURG COMES THE LIBERTY MOVIE OF THE YEAR
RON MAXWELL'S COPPERHEAD
For anyone who reveres and believes in the preservation of the Constitution of the United States, Copperhead is a must see this summer!
Copperhead is unlike any Civil War movie to date. It is a film of the war at home - of a family ripped apart by war, of a community driven to an appalling act of vengeance against a man who insists on exercising his right to free speech during wartime. A story of the violent passions and burning feuds that set ablaze the homefront during the Civil War, Copperhead the movie is also a timeless and deeply moving examination of the price of dissent, the place of the individual amidst the hysteria of wartime, and the terrible price of war - a cost measured not in dollars but in fractured families, broken loves, and men dead before their time.
Based on the extraordinary novel by Harold Frederic, who witnessed these conflicts firsthand as a small child, Copperhead tells the story of Abner Beech, a stubborn and righteous farmer of Upstate New York, who defies his neighbors and his government in the bloody and contentious autumn of 1862.
June meeting: Thursday June 13, 7pm at Rock (857 Main St, Harleysville)
1. Pension Reform Pamphlet / Budget Proposal
a) Gov. Corbett's budget proposal contains elements of public pension reform (and liquor privatization). It is due June 30, so we must inform PA citizens to support it. I've attached a pamphlet I made for PA's public pension crisis. Print it out and place it on as many front porches as you can (no mailboxes) before June 30. If you can't print "manual duplex" (printing on both sides), you can pick some up from our house any time - there will be a box on our porch with copies inside starting Tuesday June 11. We're at 304 Shirley Drive, Harleysville.
b) Call/email/meet with your representative yourself about pension reform and liquor privatization. You know the urgency from Bill H's presentation at the May meeting. Dr. Baumgartner made great talking points for you to pick and choose from, pasted below. Find your reps here: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/
2. Audit the IRS Rally in DC
Tea Party Patriots national is organizing an Audit the IRS Rally in DC on Wednesday June 19 from noon - 2pm at the West Lawn of the US Capitol. As of yet there are no buses, but I can work on getting a van if there's enough interest in going (and there ought to be!). Email us at central.montco.ptpp@gmail.com or call/text me 610-717-6978 up until may 14 to get a spot.
3. No Flag Day this year
Just too busy to get it together, started too late, we can't have it on Flag Day (June 14) b/c that's a Friday and the bank we use for the venue is open until 8pm. We'll come back stronger for next year's.

LEGISLATIVE TALKING POINTS Pick and choose from these suggestions, Add your own
PENNSYLVANIA PENSION REFORM
* I support Gov Corbett's budget proposal that includes badly needed pension reform
* I ASK THAT YOU SUPPORT GOV CORBETT'S PENSION REFORM PLAN AND ADVISE ME YOUR DECISION
* The $41 pension debt hole is deep enough, it is time to reform an unsustainable public employee pension plan
* As a retiree I have a very limited source of funds to pay increasing school taxes due to rising pension costs
* It is past time to right size the public employee pension plan that the legislature has bloated with unjustified added benefits
* My school expenses will increase at least 3% not for education but only for pension cost increase
* Lack of reform will cause the cost of pensions for us taxpayers to increase 260% or $4.5 BILLION by 2016.
* My taxes will increase over $1,000 just for employee pension increase
LIBERTY FOR LIQUOR
* I support HB 790 that will privatize our state operated liquor stores has been introduced in the House
* I ASK THAT YOU SUPPORT HB 790 AND ADVISE ME YOUR DECISION
* The state operated liquor stores are a sad sack operation that only offer very choices and limited hours. The employees have very limited product choice.
* As a member of the Tea Party I support the three core principles of Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government and Free Markets. State operated retail businesses violate these fundamentals.
* Forty eight states long ago have successfully abandoned state operated liquor business with no increase in alcohol related deaths, accidents and abuse.
* Private enterprise will bring alcohol taxes back to Pennsylvania that have been flowing to our free enterprise our border states.
* There are allegations of misdeeds by the political appointed alcohol commission members

Audit The IRS Rally: Save The Date!
Were you targeted by the IRS for your political beliefs? Did you receive extra scrutiny for promoting limited government, the constitution, and fiscal responsibility? If not, will you be next?
What: Audit the IRS Rally When: Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from Noon - 2pm Where: West Lawn of the US Capitol
Join us on Wednesday, June 19th at 12pm on the West Lawn of the US Capitol as we come together to rally against the IRS. It's time that Washington sees first-hand just how outraged the American people are by these discriminatory acts.
In the spirit of what Becky Gerritson of Wetumpka Tea Party so elegantly said in her testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee:
"We are patriotic Americans. We peacefully assemble. We petition our government. We exercise our right to free speech and we don't understand why our government tried to stop us. We aren't here as a serf or a vassal. We're not begging our lords for mercy. We are born free American citizens and we're telling our government that you've forgotten your place. Its not your responsibility to look our for our well being and monitor our speech. Its not your right to assert an agenda. The post that you occupy exists to preserve American liberty. You've sworn to perform that duty and you have faltered."
Becky Gerritson gives testimony to Ways and Means Committee on IRS targeting her Tea Party group
WE'RE GOING TO WASHINGTON, D.C! On Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Tea Party Patriots (and maybe some other grassroots groups), are putting together an "Audit the IRS" Rally in D.C. Right now, the bus situation is up in the air, but TPP is working on it. In the meantime, I suggest that as group leaders/coordinators, you put together car pools and get as many of your members to Washington, D.C. as possible on the 19th. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT FOR TPP to make bus arrangements! If they put something together, we'll know about it and get the word out immediately. Set up carpools and be on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol by 12:00PM. If you're carpooling and you live in the Philadelphia area, leave no later than 6:00AM, otherwise you'll spend 2-3 hours trying to get from Delaware to D.C. As far as parking goes, you can park your car at Union Station for $20.00 for the day and walk or take a cab over to the Capitol. Below is a link from the TPP website. Please pass it on to everyone on your groups' email list and get as many of your group members to D.C. as possible.
If you are a member or if you are interested in going with us, our group, the Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots-Lower Bucks will be carpooling. We will be leaving from our house at 6:00AM SHARP! (If you're late, you can catch up with us on I-95!) Our address is 3585 Aster Avenue, Feasterville Trevose, PA 19053. I will be driving and I'm asking for other volunteers to drive also.

June 19 - 21 we will convene at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC for our fourth annual National Conference & Legislative Briefing.
And here's some really great news: This year's registration fee is only $229! Register by April 15th and you'll receive our "Early Bird" rate of just $189!
We also offer again this year special benefits for Patriot Eagle and Patriot sponsors.
We have some exciting new wrinkles planned for this year's event, and our list of confirmed speakers already includes:
Steven Emerson - Journalist, author, and the Executive Editor of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. A. M. Rosenthal, late-managing editor of The New York Times, described Emerson as "one of the nation's best national security correspondents."
John Guandolo - Former FBI agent and one of America's leading authorities on the Muslim Brotherhood and its inner workings in America. Guandolo spoke at our conference in 2011 and received rave reviews from conference attendees!
Ezra Levant - Canadian lawyer, author, newspaper columnist with Sun Media, and former publisher of the Western Standard. Hauled before a Canadian "human rights commission" because he published the Danish cartoons that satirized Muhammad, Levant's personal account of a politically correct government inquisition is something you won't want to miss!
The National Conference & Legislative Briefing will begin on Wed. evening, June 19th, and conclude on Friday, June 21st at noon, with additional optional training sessions Friday afternoon.
It will again feature our very popular Capitol Hill Awards Luncheon and our signature gala banquet-and of course, our Legislative Briefing, where Members of Congress will brief you on various issues and answer your questions.
So make your plans now to join us in our nation's capital for what promises to be our best National Conference & Legislative Briefing ever!
More details to come!

We are thrilled to welcome her back to the RedState Gathering in New Orleans.
Confirmed speakers include:
Ted Cruz
Ken Cuccinelli
Nikki Haley
Bobby Jindal
Jim Bridenstine
Speaker invitations have also been extended to:

-
And more!
We'll have plenty more speaker announcements coming shortly, but we're guaranteed to have a good mix of elected officials, potential 2014 cycle candidates, and other RedState friends. Remember, the Gathering is unique in conservative events in that speakers pay their own way and are required to take questions from folks in the audience.
What better excuse for a trip to New Orleans? And, don't forget, your registration even includes most of your food, as well as access to deeply discounted hotel rooms.
As some of you may know, I am associated with Coventry Christian Schools as a parent of a graduate (2010) and as member of the Board of Trustees. Last October we spent a wonderful evening honoring Mark Niehls at our revitalized Founder's Dinner and celebrated our shared heritage in the remarkable community that is Coventry Christian Schools. Our vision for future Founder's Dinners is to inspire and inform not only our alumni and current CCS families but to inspire and inform the Tri-County Area and even our region by hosting speakers and artists who can uniquely assist us in celebrating the heritage, core values, and mission of CCS while also lifting our vision for an even greater future built upon the foundation of our past. The caliber of our speakers and guest artists should provide us with wonderful opportunities to share our CCS story with new partners in Christian education. Proceeds from the dinner will be applied to our annual Coventry Kids Fund for CCS scholarships.
This year we are proud to announce that our distinguished guest and speaker is Dr. Benjamin Carson, and our dinner's theme is "Faith of Our Fathers: The Role of Faith in American Schools." Please join us as we welcome Dr. Carson to the Tri-County Area and celebrate the great things God is doing at CCS!
Dr. Carson is a highly regarded neurosurgeon and motivational speaker who has addressed various audiences across the country. He is one of the most honored and recognized physicians in the world and holds more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees along with hundreds of awards and citations. He is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. He is the author of five books and is the founder of the Carson Scholars Fund. The 2009 award-winning movie entitled Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. as Carson, premiered on TNT and is based on his memoir. Dr. Carson is an authentic disciple of Christ, has been married to his wife Candy for more than 37 years, and is the father of three sons.
The 2013 Founder's Dinner, which will once again be a part of our Homecoming festivities, will be held at the historic Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown on Sunday, October 13th, 2013. Doors will open at 4:30pm, followed by dinner at 5:15. Dress will be business/professional. Tickets will be priced at $100 until May 15th, then will be $125, so reserve your tickets for the reduced price.
Due to Dr. Carson's international reputation and recent prominence in the media, including his recent speech at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, we fully anticipate that this event will sell out quickly once advertised to the public. Tickets go on sale to the public April 15. If you are interested in attending, tickets can be purchased online. I will send the link out to those who wish to go on April 15
th
. While online reservations are preferred because they facilitate efficient event planning, you may also complete a paper order form, which I can forward to you as well.
All of us at Coventry Christian Schools, look forward to sharing this very special evening with you and acquainting you with the school and its mission!
Blessings,
Christine Gordon

When President Obama unveiled his Race to the Top initiative in 2009, the idea was to award $4.35 billion in federal grant money to states to replicate policies that boosted student achievement. That quickly changed and the federal money was instead used to persuade states to adopt administration-backed nationalized K-12 English and math standards and tests. By last year, most states had adopted the standards, known as Common Core, and it seemed a foregone conclusion that the United States would join countries like France in having a uniform curriculum.
But what a difference a year makes. Today, a full-blown epidemic of buyer's remorse has taken hold. Popular resistance is rampant and bills to pull out of Common Core are making their way through multiple state legislatures.
Had the Obama administration been interested in policies with a proven record of improving students' academic performance, it would have looked to Massachusetts. In the early 1990s, Massachusetts was an above average but unremarkable performer on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and SATs. After enactment of the Bay State's landmark 1993 education reform law, SAT scores rose for 13 consecutive years. In 2005, Massachusetts students became the first state ever to score best in the nation in all four categories on the NAEP's fourth and eighth grade reading and math assessments. The next three times the tests were administered-in 2007, 2009, and 2010-this feat was repeated.
'Common Core' Nationalizes and Dumbs Down Public School Curriculum
by Ron Paul: In addition to shredding civil liberties, launching a utopian global war for democracy, and going on a spending spree that would make LBJ blush, the so-called "conservative" Bush administration dramatically increased federal control over education via the "No Child Left Behind" act. During my time in Congress I heard nothing but complaints about this law from teachers, administrators, and, most importantly, students and parents. Most of the complaints concerned No Child Left Behind's testing requirements, which encouraged educators to "teach to the test."
Sadly, but not surprisingly, instead of improving education by repealing No Child Left Behind's testing and other mandates, the Obama administration is increasing national control over schools via the "Common Core" initiative. Common Core is a new curriculum developed by a panel of so-called education experts. The administration is trying to turn Common Core into a national curriculum by offering states increased federal education funding if they impose Common Core's curriculum on their public schools. This is yet another example of the government using money stolen from the people to bribe states into obeying federal dictates.
Critics of Common Core say it "dumbs down" education by replacing traditional English literature with "informational texts". So students will read such inspiring materials as studies by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, the EPA's "Recommended Levels of Insulation," and "Invasive Plant Inventory" by California's Invasive Plant Council. It is doubtful that reading federal reports will teach students the habits of critical thinking and skepticism of government that the Founders considered essential to maintaining a free republic.
Like Obamacare, Common Core (now dubbed "ObamaCore" by some) has sparked a backlash in the states, leading some to propose legislation forbidding state participation in the scheme. I hope these efforts lead to states not just opting out of Common Core, but out of No Child Left Behind and all other federal education programs as well.
Parents can also effectively "opt out" of programs like Common Core by seeking alternatives to government education. It is no coincidence that, as federal control over education increases, the quality of public education has declined and more parents have chosen to homeschool.
As parents, citizens, and legislators learn more about Common Core, some are deciding it is not the best means of improving American education. Parents in many states are mounting grassroots campaigns against Common Core's standardization of learning and federal testing of students. In April, the Republican National Committee issued a resolution rejecting Common Core, saying it is a "plan [that] creates and fits the country with a nationwide straitjacket on academic freedom and achievement."
Critics of Common Core say it is an untried experiment that lacks legitimacy and empirical study and is now being foisted upon the entire U.S. school system. It has the potential to waste billions of dollars, multiple years of education efforts, and the learning potential of all schoolchildren.
Several state legislatures are considering withdrawing from Common Core (CC), delaying or not funding implementation, or withdrawing from national testing by government-funded consortia. Four states never adopted CC: Alaska, Nebraska, Texas, and Virginia. Minnesota accepted CC English standards, but rejected CC math. Private organizations developed CC; it was neither debated in public nor enacted by state legislators.
Certainly many Common Core promoters believe further centralization of education will improve educational outcomes, but power and cash may also be motivating some supporters. There is an immense amount of money flowing to public education because of Common Core implementation, and also to specific companies that are CC public-private partners that develop curriculum, create tests, and train educators to teach Common Core.

Indoctrination in Common Core ELA Texts
I wonder what it is going to take to make our legislators step back and really look at what Common Core is presenting to our children and listen to the TRUE facts. They want to raise our scoring levels up so the "states" are first - not giving any thought as to what they are being taught by using something that is going to dumb them down to the Skinner and Pavlov type of indoctrination. Please share these videos with anyone you know that has children in school - as I stated before - the combination of what they are being presented through the ELA books and the added effort of making them study informational and technical textbooks and as this video reports - the book they are talking about is "Voices" - Example: the book asks the question -
"Your mother ___________ you to clean your room and the choices for the answer are "tells" or "nags" implementing a negative attitude with the parent which is part of this goal.

Donna Holt from Campaign for Liberty has also written extensively on this issue and her research provided valuable information both to James Simpson and Right Side News, and most importantly, the citizens of Virginia to get them involved at the local level.
Sustainable Development is code for a policy designed to transform human society, essentially eliminating individual life decisions and replacing them with top - down, one-size-fits-all government control. In steady fashion, the agenda for this new policy, designed at the international level, is put into place piece by piece with a new government council here, and new regulation there, each designed to appear as a "local" development program. Like the proverbial frog in the slowly boiling pot, many Americans fail to notice the rise in government heat.
The main course of action to impose the new agenda is through the pretense of environmental protection; "Sorry about your rights, but if we don't save the planet, then we will all perish!" And so with the devastation of a thousand pin pricks, America and its form or government is being changed through the creation of non-elected boards, councils and regional governments, designed to enforce the new regulations and "assure that we protect the environment."
The pin pricks come disguised as such issues as controls on community development; controls on use of private property; controls on use of open space; creation of development areas, many times under the excuse of historic preservation; communities designed on the blue print of pack and stack housing; making it harder to drive as roads are narrowed, even forcing cars to share the road with bicycles; the enforcement of expensive mass transit boondoggle projects; and the never ending spending spree on inefficient, unworkable alternative energy, such as wind and solar power.
In fact, control of energy and water are the two most effective tools in the enforcement of the Sustainable Development agenda. Without energy and water, human society stops. Using strict controls on how, or even if, energy and water can be used provides government with the power to dictate every aspect of society.

1.The Chuck Schumer Republicans Roll Amnesty Train Down the Cliff
The Senate just voted 82-15 to proceed with debate on the amnesty/immigration deform bill.Every Democrat voted yes, laying waste to the notion that there are still moderate red state Democrats.15 Republicans voted to stand with We the People against the La Raza foreign lobby/K Street juke box:
McCain, Murkowski, and Coburn were not present for the vote. The former two would have voted for it anyway.[Update: Coburn voted yes on the second procedural motion to proceed.]

One of my favorite Dilbert cartoons showed the hero's laconic office mate, Wally, discovers to his horror that agreeing to the Microsoft End User License Agreement meant he would have to spend several months of indentured servitude as a towel boy at Bill Gates' pool.I thought of it when hearing the sarcastic suggestion today that we might all have unknowingly agreed to the NSA's PRISM super-surveillance program by clicking on all those end-user agreements. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
3.Rep @PeteOlson & @RepJoeBarton want to expand government with the #RFSMandate
Where to begin with the monstrosity that is the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS Mandate)? It is rare that one gets the opportunity to highlight a government initiative so awful, that I can say without an ounce of hyperbole, that it is starving children. STARVING. CHILDREN.
"For Women in Weiner Scandal, Indignity Lingers" sounds like an episode of a soap opera. In a way, it was; it was the name of a New York Times article that was published but then removed, because it was prematurely released. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Creativity is an individual act. The act of building something, whether with hammers, blueprints, words, boards or plans is individualistic. Collectives can build, but not creatively. A mass has no vision because it has no personality. It can follow rules but not dreams.
American exceptionalism emerged out of a society which empowered the creative talents of the individual, not through grants, regulations, instructional pamphlets, inspectors and guidelines, but through the simple virtue of leaving men alone to do their work.
Freedom is the greatest creative force because it liberates the individual to build and as freedom diminishes within a society so does its creativity. Progress in restricted areas dwindles to a trickle as collectives expend a thousand times the money and effort, and still fail to equal the achievements of individuals operating on shoestring budgets.
The Soviet Union fell because its Communist collectives were not able to equal the West in the military or the economic arena. The only technique that Communist states ever had was to create a heavily regulated top-down infrastructure and when a crisis occurred, a mass of people would be thrown at the problem.
The collective approach allowed the Soviet Union to construct massive infrastructure projects; building roads, power stations and housing. But these were flawed imitations of Western projects and were poorly designed and implemented. The same pattern repeated itself across the Communist sphere. The collective could inefficiently mobilize armies of workers to carry out a project, but the planning and design of the project was grandiose, derivative and poorly adapted to the task at hand. Communist projects were mechanically conceived, mechanically implemented and unfit in the way that any project purely designed by machines would be for human use.
The Soviet Union, China, North Korea and Vietnam all won their engagements with enemies in the same way; by throwing so many men at the problem that the enemy would become bogged down and eventually forced to retreat. Their military victories did not emerge from strategy or heroism, but the mechanical willingness to sacrifice numberless individuals for the goals of the collective.

Medicaid, which is already so overloaded that the number of people on the program exceeds the population of France, Britain, or Italy.
But Obamacare presents states with alluring federal money... and governors are under pressure to take the money and run.
Unfortunately, giving in now doesn't mean their financial pictures will be better later. Byron Schlomach, director of the Center for Economic Prosperity at the Goldwater Institute, lays out the scenario facing Arizona:
This expansion would cost a lot of money we don't have. Even with the federal government picking up most of the tab, estimates put the cost of expansion for Arizona at $125 million in 2016 alone. The yearly cost would rise as the federal share of the cost ratchets down to 90 percent. As the federal government's financial condition worsens, states will likely have to pick up even more of the cost.
Heritage research shows that 40 of 50 states would see increases in costs due the Medicaid expansion. It may look enticing at first because of the promise of federal money-but there is no guarantee that money will materialize down the line, Heritage experts have explained.
Michigan is also divided on the decision-and in danger of buying into the myth that states could opt out of the expanded Medicaid program later if they don't like it. As Jack McHugh, senior legislative analyst at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, puts it:
If Michigan Republicans capitulate to special interests and accept the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, they're likely to make a big deal about a supposed 'opt-out' clause in the instrument of surrender, declaring the state can bail at some future time if certain promises and expectations don't come true. Don't bet on it.
There's still time. And there are alternatives. States can stand up to Obamacare and do what's in the best interest of their taxpayers and their uninsured residents.

5 Ways to Thwart the NSA and Gov't from Spying on You
The Blaze | Liz Klimas | Jun. 11, 2013 2:11pm
Recent news of the NSA collecting metadata of phone calls from communication companies, along with federal law enforcement seeming to continue to press for expansion of its ability to collect personal information online without warrants, has many questioning how safe their own privacy is.
Although a Pew Research Center poll found 56 percent of Americans back the NSA's spying on call records, many have still expressed outrage over what they feel is a breech of their expected privacy and have labeled the whistleblower of the classified government program a hero.
Those concerned about their communication privacy - be it over the phone or on the Web - may then be wondering: Is there anything to be done? Is full privacy even possible?
We went searching and found a few answers. Here are a few tips:

2008: NSA mocked personal phone calls from the battlefield
The defenders of the NSA during this controversial time like to point out that they aren't watching you, per se, but rather they're just looking for patterns in the massive swaths of data collected. The problem is that claim is simply not true, as evidenced by the 2008 report detailing how NSA officials were listening in on American soldiers during their most intimate moments. MORE
