Investigative Report - Eric Holder And The George Soros Weather Underground Terrorists...
by Ulsterman on May 28, 2013
The name "WeatherUnderground" has received some attention during the Obama years given Barack Obama's relationship with former WeatherUnderground member Bill Ayers and his wife (and former member as well) Bernardine Dohrn. It was Dohrn's home in Chicago that was the alleged launch for Barack Obama's political career. What many don't know is that President Obama's current Attorney General, Eric Holder, who now faces the very real prospect of being forced to resign under the weight of numerous Department of Justice related abuses and scandals, ALSO has a strong link to this infamous domestic terrorist organization. Is it mere coincidence that both men - President Barack Obama, and Attorney General Eric Holder, are inextricably linked by this seemingly odd association? Not bloody likely...

(Bill Ayers back in the day when both he and Eric Holder were calling for revolution in America...)
______________________________
First, just a quick refresher of what the Weather Underground was:
**The far-left organization was founded in the late 1960's. It's goal was simple - the overthrow of the American government.
**Several bombing attacks were initiated by the WeatherUnderground - primarily against government buildings and banks.
**Called for a domestic army of radical white people to join with the radical black people ofAmerica to overthrow the government.
**The Weather Underground declared itself strongly opposed to what it called "American imperialism" - a stance that was also taken by Barack Obama's father as well as Obama's childhood mentor Frank Marshall Davis. Both men were advocates of socialist and/or communist forms of government. Obama himself was a featured guest of the Democratic Socialists of Chicago as his political career was started.
**Ayers personally congratulated the actions of Charles Manson, and Sirhan Sirhan. (the anti-Israel Palestinian who assassinated Robert Kennedy in 1968.)

Obama's Bloody Recipe for More Benghazis
Michelle Malkin - May 28, 2013
Gird your loins, America. President Obama intends to empty out Guantanamo Bay and send scores of suspected Muslim terror operatives back to their jihadist-coddling native countries. Goaded by anti-war activists and soft-on-terror attorneys (including those from Attorney General Eric Holder's former private law firm), Obama announced Thursday that he'll lift a ban on sending up to 90 Yemeni detainees home and will initiate other stalled transfers out of the compound. This radical appeasement of Obama's left flank is a surefire recipe for more Benghazis, more U.S.S. Coles and more innocent lives at risk. A little more than three years ago, the White House assured Americans that it would not release Yemeni detainees back to their al-Qaida-infested land. In January 2010, international press outlets reported that at least a dozen former Guantanamo Bay prisoners had rejoined al-Qaida to fight in Yemen. Yemen was also the terror training ground of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the jihadist who attempted to bomb Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on Christmas Day in 2009. Abdulmutallab reportedly told the FBI there were countless al-Qaida trainees like him in Yemen. The CIA knew of Abdulmutallab four months before his bombing attempt and was aware of him meeting with terrorists in Yemen a month before his arrest. British media also reported that counterterrorism and intelligence officers were "aware of several British nationals and British residents who had trained at camps in Yemen's 'ungoverned spaces.'" Please stop using Gmail. Gmail is part of Zgoogle and Google sits on the right hand of President Obama. They track everything that you do. James Rosen of Fox News used Gmail.

Google Needs Extra Time to Spy on Your Kids
It seems that Google is constantly falling afoul of conservatives, consumers, pundits, regulators and really everyone else on earth (except for the Obama campaign) for its privacy-infringing tendencies.
It got hammered for "alleged" spying in the Safarigate scandal, where it wound up agreeing to a record-breaking $22.5 million fine in connection with charges it surreptitiously tracked Apple Safari users who Google had said could opt out of tracking, and did what Google said was necessary to opt out. This spying of course enabled Google to grab data it shouldn't have had, to improve its highly profitable targeted ad business, and do it in a way that amounted to a violation of its contract with users. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Dear Members and Friends,
This Memorial weekend, we not only commemorate the sacrifices of those who have given their lives in service to our country, we are also praying for the victims, living and deceased, of Monday's Oklahoma tornados.

Last, but not least, we hope to see you at tomorrow's noontime national

FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GODS AND GENERALS AND GETTYSBURG COMES THE LIBERTY MOVIE OF THE YEAR
RON MAXWELL'S COPPERHEAD
For anyone who reveres and believes in the preservation of the Constitution of the United States, Copperhead is a must see this summer!
Copperhead is unlike any Civil War movie to date. It is a film of the war at home - of a family ripped apart by war, of a community driven to an appalling act of vengeance against a man who insists on exercising his right to free speech during wartime. A story of the violent passions and burning feuds that set ablaze the homefront during the Civil War, Copperhead the movie is also a timeless and deeply moving examination of the price of dissent, the place of the individual amidst the hysteria of wartime, and the terrible price of war - a cost measured not in dollars but in fractured families, broken loves, and men dead before their time.
Based on the extraordinary novel by Harold Frederic, who witnessed these conflicts firsthand as a small child, Copperhead tells the story of Abner Beech, a stubborn and righteous farmer of Upstate New York, who defies his neighbors and his government in the bloody and contentious autumn of 1862.

On Thursday, May 30, the organization Friends of Israel will celebrate its 75th anniversary of helping Jews and the Jewish State of Israel with a gala in Voorhees, N.J. We hope you will attend their reasonably priced dinner as a show of support and unity. As you will note, this Christian Zionist group began its mission 10 years before Israel was re-established. They were originally known as "The Friends of Israel Refugee Relief Committee." To this day they continue to be advocates for Israel throughout the world and lead an annual mission to Israel. Though this group is international in scope, it is based in South Jersey. Friends of Israel leadership have attended our Philadelphia ZOA Gala each year and last year we honored its immediate past executive director, William Sutter, and his wife, Annette. We see Bill (who is still quite active) and his successor, Jim Showers, at nearly every pro-Israel event in the region. They truly are, as their name indicates, "friends of Israel." Tickets are just $45. The event takes place at The Mansion on Main Street, on May 30, beginning at 5:30 p.m......... Kosher meals are available Please call me at our Office for all of the details at 610-660-9466. I hope you will be able to attend. Thank you, Steve

WITH TRADITONAL VALUES, STRONG CONVICTIONS & FAITH IN OUR CONSTITUTION, HEAR MICHELLE BACHMANN'S VISION FOR OUR NATION.

In 2006, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann became the first Republican woman to be elected to represent Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives. As a self-proclaimed "Constitutional Conservative" she is committed to fixing Washington's broken ways by advocating for America's adherence to the Constitution. As a believer in the traditional values upon which this country was founded, Bachmann consistently defends America's religious liberties and the importance of family as the first unit of government. As the federal government continues to grow under the current administration, Bachmann was honored to establish the Tea Party Caucus in July 2010. She is proud to stand with the Tea Party to call for lower taxes, renewed focus on the Constitution and smaller government.

Announcing the 2013 National Conference
& Legislative Briefing!
June 19 - 21 we will convene at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC for our fourth annual National Conference & Legislative Briefing.
And here's some really great news: This year's registration fee is only $229! Register by April 15th and you'll receive our "Early Bird" rate of just $189!
|
We also offer again this year special benefits for Patriot Eagle and Patriot sponsors. We have some exciting new wrinkles planned for this year's event, and our list of confirmed speakers already includes:
- Steven Emerson - Journalist, author, and the Executive Editor of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. A. M. Rosenthal, late-managing editor of The New York Times, described Emerson as "one of the nation's best national security correspondents."
- John Guandolo - Former FBI agent and one of America's leading authorities on the Muslim Brotherhood and its inner workings in America. Guandolo spoke at our conference in 2011 and received rave reviews from conference attendees!
- Ezra Levant - Canadian lawyer, author, newspaper columnist with Sun Media, and former publisher of the Western Standard. Hauled before a Canadian "human rights commission" because he published the Danish cartoons that satirized Muhammad, Levant's personal account of a politically correct government inquisition is something you won't want to miss!
|
The National Conference & Legislative Briefing will begin on Wed. evening, June 19th, and conclude on Friday, June 21st at noon, with additional optional training sessions Friday afternoon.
It will again feature our very popular Capitol Hill Awards Luncheon and our signature gala banquet-and of course, our Legislative Briefing, where Members of Congress will brief you on various issues and answer your questions.
|
So make your plans now to join us in our nation's capital for what promises to be our best National Conference & Legislative Briefing ever! More details to come!

2013 RedState Gathering -- Early Bird Special Dear RedStater,
We announced earlier this week that we'll be headed to New Orleans the first weekend in August for this year's RedState Gathering. As a member of our RedState family, we'd like to extend exclusive Early Bird registration and pricing to you (just use the promo code EARLYBIRD on the registration page).
The 2013 RedState Gathering will be held August 2-3 at the Westin Canal Place in New Orleans, LA. We'll have two full days of speakers and activities and you can expect a good mix of elected officials and potential candidates for the 2014 cycle (we'll keep you informed as additions are made).
The Gathering has always been a unique event, in that all speakers, even the most in-demand and influential, pay their own way and make their own travel arrangements. This helps keep our costs low, a savings we are happy to pass along to our conference attendees. Additionally, we strive to get you up close to the speakers, ask them to take your questions, and we take care of nearly all your meals during the conference. Bottom line: fewer frills, more thrills and access.
We are thrilled to once again be joined by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who will be hosting a reception for all attendees and appear at the Gathering podium as a keynote speaker. A huge hit in 2012, we're looking forward to Gov. Jindal playing an even larger role this year as he welcomes us to his home state.
Now, more than ever, true conservative activists must come together to exchange ideas and strategize for the future. That's what this year's Gathering is all about. We hope you'll join us.
Click here to learn more and register.
Sincerely,
 Erick Erickson Editor-in-Chief, RedState
P.S. Don't delay! You'll receive 20% off if you register today - just use the promo code EARLYBIRD. Click here.

From a trusted friend:
As some of you may know, I am associated with Coventry Christian Schools as a parent of a graduate (2010) and as member of the Board of Trustees. Last October we spent a wonderful evening honoring Mark Niehls at our revitalized Founder's Dinner and celebrated our shared heritage in the remarkable community that is Coventry Christian Schools. Our vision for future Founder's Dinners is to inspire and inform not only our alumni and current CCS families but to inspire and inform the Tri-County Area and even our region by hosting speakers and artists who can uniquely assist us in celebrating the heritage, core values, and mission of CCS while also lifting our vision for an even greater future built upon the foundation of our past. The caliber of our speakers and guest artists should provide us with wonderful opportunities to share our CCS story with new partners in Christian education. Proceeds from the dinner will be applied to our annual Coventry Kids Fund for CCS scholarships.
This year we are proud to announce that our distinguished guest and speaker is Dr. Benjamin Carson, and our dinner's theme is "Faith of Our Fathers: The Role of Faith in American Schools." Please join us as we welcome Dr. Carson to the Tri-County Area and celebrate the great things God is doing at CCS!
Dr. Carson is a highly regarded neurosurgeon and motivational speaker who has addressed various audiences across the country. He is one of the most honored and recognized physicians in the world and holds more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees along with hundreds of awards and citations. He is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States. He is the author of five books and is the founder of the Carson Scholars Fund. The 2009 award-winning movie entitled Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. as Carson, premiered on TNT and is based on his memoir. Dr. Carson is an authentic disciple of Christ, has been married to his wife Candy for more than 37 years, and is the father of three sons.
The 2013 Founder's Dinner, which will once again be a part of our Homecoming festivities, will be held at the historic Sunnybrook Ballroom in Pottstown on Sunday, October 13th, 2013. Doors will open at 4:30pm, followed by dinner at 5:15. Dress will be business/professional. Tickets will be priced at $100 until May 15th, then will be $125, so reserve your tickets for the reduced price.
Due to Dr. Carson's international reputation and recent prominence in the media, including his recent speech at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, we fully anticipate that this event will sell out quickly once advertised to the public. Tickets go on sale to the public April 15. If you are interested in attending, tickets can be purchased online. I will send the link out to those who wish to go on April 15
th
. While online reservations are preferred because they facilitate efficient event planning, you may also complete a paper order form, which I can forward to you as well.
All of us at Coventry Christian Schools, look forward to sharing this very special evening with you and acquainting you with the school and its mission!
Blessings,
Christine Gordon

Push Against Common Core Gains Momentum
As parents, citizens, and legislators learn more about Common Core, some are deciding it is not the best means of improving American education. Parents in many states are mounting grassroots campaigns against Common Core's standardization of learning and federal testing of students. In April, the Republican National Committee issued a resolution rejecting Common Core, saying it is a "plan [that] creates and fits the country with a nationwide straitjacket on academic freedom and achievement."
Critics of Common Core say it is an untried experiment that lacks legitimacy and empirical study and is now being foisted upon the entire U.S. school system. It has the potential to waste billions of dollars, multiple years of education efforts, and the learning potential of all schoolchildren.
Several state legislatures are considering withdrawing from Common Core (CC), delaying or not funding implementation, or withdrawing from national testing by government-funded consortia. Four states never adopted CC: Alaska, Nebraska, Texas, and Virginia. Minnesota accepted CC English standards, but rejected CC math. Private organizations developed CC; it was neither debated in public nor enacted by state legislators.
Certainly many Common Core promoters believe further centralization of education will improve educational outcomes, but power and cash may also be motivating some supporters. There is an immense amount of money flowing to public education because of Common Core implementation, and also to specific companies that are CC public-private partners that develop curriculum, create tests, and train educators to teach Common Core.

I wonder what it is going to take to make our legislators step back and really look at what Common Core is presenting to our children and listen to the TRUE facts. They want to raise our scoring levels up so the "states" are first - not giving any thought as to what they are being taught by using something that is going to dumb them down to the Skinner and Pavlov type of indoctrination. Please share these videos with anyone you know that has children in school - as I stated before - the combination of what they are being presented through the ELA books and the added effort of making them study informational and technical textbooks and as this video reports - the book they are talking about is "Voices" - Example: the book asks the question -
"Your mother ___________ you to clean your room and the choices for the answer are "tells" or "nags" implementing a negative attitude with the parent which is part of this goal.

Gun Owners of America
|
Toomey Tells Reporter:
He is Open to Destroying the Second Amendment Again
To review the bidding: You remember the beginning of April, when it appeared that the pro-gun movement would achieve a definitive victory which would send anti-gun crazy Mike Bloomberg into hiding for another decade?
Then, straight to the aid of people like Bloomberg who want to eliminate gun ownership in America, came Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey.
The so-called Toomey-Manchin "compromise" was actually drafted by New York Senator Chuck Schumer, and earlier versions still had his name at the top.
The Toomey proposal would create a national gun registry, and give the gun-grabbers and Barack Obama a huge victory from which they could make their next round of gun demands.
The "weasel-words" which purported to prohibit a gun registry were actually full of loopholes. For example, Attorney General Eric Holder is authorized to prosecute himself (and his subordinates) for creating a gun registry. But after Holder's performance on Fast & Furious and the IRS scandal, does anyone trust him to do that?
Since the defeat of Schumer-Toomey-Manchin, Toomey has normally tried to tamp down efforts to get the gun control debate jump-started again.
But now, Toomey has told reporter Jonathan Tamari that he is "open to reviving the background-check bill."
Toomey's statement, of course, will be used to resume a feeding frenzy to destroy the Second Amendment.
Toomey has made it quite clear to the Associated Press and others that he believes his role in trying to destroy the Second Amendment has been a political benefit for him in Pennsylvania.
You need to convince him differently.
ACTION: Contact Senator Toomey. Tell him how you feel about his efforts to further his political career by attacking gun ownership.
You can call Senator Toomey at 202-224-4254If it is not possible for you to call, then e-mail him by using his webform at
http://www.toomey.senate.gov/?p=contact. Select "Gun Rights" as the Topic.
----- Pre-written letter -----
I see that you told an Inquirer reporter that you are "open to reviving the background check bill."
You are reported to think that destroying the Second Amendment is good politics in Pennsylvania.
Arlen Specter thought the same thing. Remember him?
Make no mistake about it: We know that the so-called Toomey-Manchin "compromise" was actually drafted by New York Senator Chuck Schumer, and earlier versions still had his name at the top.
Your proposal would create a national gun registry, and give the gun-grabbers and Barack Obama a huge victory from which they could make their next round of gun demands.
The "weasel-words" which you use to purport to prohibit a gun registry were actually full of loopholes. For example, Attorney General Eric Holder is authorized to prosecute himself (and his subordinates) for creating a gun registry. But after Holder's performance on Fast & Furious and the IRS scandal, does anyone trust him to do that?
Please cease and desist in your efforts to destroy gun ownership for your own political gain.

Obama's IRS And The Tax Monster We've Created GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary By Don Feder 05/28/2013 It's hard to say what was funnier - congressional testimony by Obama's I-saw-nothing/I-know- nothing stooges or comments of late-night TV hosts. Jay Leno: "A lot of critics are comparing President Obama to President Richard Nixon, which is unfair. Nixon's unemployment rate was only 5%." Another host suggested that the way for the right to defeat ObamaCare was to declare it a conservative foundation and wait for the IRS to take it down. Last week, we were treated to Theater of the Absurd performances by Acting IRS Commissioner Steven T. Miller and Lois Lerner, formerly in charge of the IRS division that dealt with foundations. Lerner did a short monologue, telling the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee: "I have not done anything wrong" but "I will not answer any questions or testify today." Taking the Fifth is just what you'd expect from someone who did nothing wrong - like the guys with organized-crime ties. Lerner also did nothing wrong when she ran the Enforcement Office at the Federal Election Commission and went to war with the Christian Coalition. Miller managed to testify without actually saying anything. He wouldn't reveal who in the IRS had targeted conservative groups (in an interview, Lerner called it the work of "front line people"). In testimony noteworthy for its evasiveness and mendacity, Miller said the two-year vendetta against the Tea Parties and conservative groups was "a foolish mistake" (like the Bataan Death March?) by "people trying to be more efficient." In the name of efficiency, the IRS targeted somewhere between 300 and 500 Tea Party and right-leaning applicants for 501-c-3 tax-exempt status. Organizations were singled out for having "Tea Party," "pro-life" and "patriotic" in their name or saying they wanted to "make America a better place to live" - which surely marked them as a threat to national security which warranted extra scrutiny. If only we could get the more dubious Muslim groups in this country to add patriotic, pro-life and Tea Party to their names. In an effort to operate more effectively, starting in 2010, the IRS took 27 months to rule on tax-exempt status of targeted groups - roughly three times the average. In that two-year period, 63% of Tea Party organizations ended up withdrawing their applications, severely limiting their funding. Various applicants were asked to provide their membership lists, donor lists, names of volunteers, copies of speeches, minutes of meetings and handouts. Leaders were asked if they'd ever considered running for elective office. At least one pro-life group was asked to have its leaders sign a statement promising to never picket a Planned Parenthood clinic - making the IRS the enforcement arm of the abortion industry - another was asked about the content of their prayers. ("From the wrath of the Tax Man, spare us, 'O Lord.") It's a wonder no one was asked if they'd ever had bad thoughts about the regime in power, or adhered to subversive doctrines found in documents like the U.S. Constitution and the Bible.

Big Media Lobby for Immigration Bill
Cliff Kincaid - May 27, 2013
Big media corporations are lobbying for passage of the Gang of Eight's 844-page immigration bill, S. 744. Critics call it amnesty. In addition to Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation (the parent of Fox News), the companies include: - Walt Disney Co. (owns ABC News)
- Hearst Corp. (owns 15 daily newspapers, including the Houston Chronicle, San Francisco Chronicle, Albany Times Union and San Antonio Express-News. Also, Hearst Television Inc., which comprises 29 television and two radio stations)
- Time Warner Inc. (owns Time magazine and CNN)
- Viacom Inc. (owns Comedy Central and MTV)
- Time Warner Cable Inc. (one of the largest providers of video, high-speed data and voice services in the United States)
- Thomson Reuters (owns Reuters, the world's largest international news agency)
The heads of these corporations are members of the Partnership for a New American Economy, and are counting on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to push the bill through the Senate in June. It has already passed the Senate Judiciary Committee. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met with a group of illegal aliens in the White House on May 21. "As the meeting was wrapping up, the President reiterated his commitment to passing a bipartisan, commonsense immigration reform bill this year," the White House said. Michael W. Cutler, an immigration enforcement expert with 30 years of experience as an Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) agent, wrote a special report for AIM saying the Senate bill should be known as the "Terrorist Assistance and Facilitation Act" Read more: |
Representative Daryl Metcalfe
12th District RepMetcalfe.com / Facebook.com/RepMetcalfe Pennsylvania House of Representatives Media Contact: Ty McCauslin 717.772.9979 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 22, 2013 Metcalfe Refutes Senator's Nullification Nonsense HARRISBURG - The following excerpts are taken from a letter sent today by House Republican Majority State Government Committee Chairman, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler), in response to a letter sent by State Senator Anthony Williams (D-Philadelphia), which opposes individual states' rights to nullify unconstitutional federal laws and, more specifically, Metcalfe's Right to Bear Arms Protection Act (House Bill 357). "Throughout our time in elected office, we have sworn to uphold and defend the same Constitutions: the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Constitution of the United States of America. Our position as state legislators uniquely situates us to enact policies that strive to balance the scales of the enumerated powers established within both Constitutions. "America's history proves that the states created the federal government and the United States Constitution; not the other way around. Therefore, as state legislators, we have the responsibility to hold our federal government accountable by fully exerting our 10th Amendment rights whenever necessary. "The origins of 'nullification' ultimately dates back to the drafting the Declaration of Independence and our independence from the tyrannical monarchy of Great Britain. The 'socially disgruntled' that you referenced in your letter also includes many of America's great leaders, such as the authors of the Virginia and Kentucky resolutions, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, respectively. "As elected officials serving in similar capacities as both Madison and Jefferson once did, I believe we owe them a debt of gratitude, not a letter filled with blind subservience and unpatriotic rhetoric. I undoubtedly believe that myself and the 76 other co-sponsors of House Bill 357 are representing the best interests of the majority of Pennsylvanians. "Advancing gun control measures, be it unconstitutionally from the federal level or through state legislative action, will not stop wicked and gruesome acts of violence. Feel good legislative policy proposals, including gun registries and 'assault weapons' bans, are nothing more than irrational and emotional ideas that ultimately erode the freedoms affirmed in the Constitutions and harm law-abiding citizens. "And, as Benjamin Franklin once said, 'Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.' "Lastly, with regard to your weakest and most ignorant straw man argument against my legislation and enforcing state sovereignty through nullification and I quote: 'Being part of the United States of America means we agree to being bound by federal laws set forth, whether our ideals are aligned with or repudiated by said laws. That is the essence of the Supremacy Clause.' "Nullification of the federal government's authority to infringe upon the rights of Pennsylvania citizens to keep and bear arms was already established by Article 1, Section 21 of our State Constitution which reads: 'The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.' "Article 1, Section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution makes it crystal clear that no level of government, especially the federal government, has any authority whatsoever to impose senseless restrictions on law-abiding firearms owners, or worse, to confiscate legally-owned firearms. "The purpose of my legislation is to force any gun-grabbing federal official to count the costs of unconstitutionally disarming or denying Pennsylvania citizens their God-given right to keep and bear arms. If enacted, House Bill 357 would offer modern day Magnum force reinforcement that there is a price to pay for any future act of federal tyranny that seeks to leave Pennsylvania citizens disarmed and defenseless. "I stand by House Bill 357 and our Constitutions." Copies of both letters can be reviewed in their entirety at RepMetcalfe.com

Morning Bell: Join the Fight Against Common Core
Two competing forces are pushing on America's K-12 education system today.
One is an effort to infuse education choice into a long-stagnant system, empowering parents with the ability to send their child to a school that meets her unique learning needs.
The other is an effort to further centralize education through Common Core national standards and tests.

>>> SHARE this on Facebook if you agree!
Across the country, education choice options have been proliferating rapidly, including vouchers, tuition tax credits, special needs scholarships, and education savings accounts
. Educational choice is a revolution because it funds children instead of physical school buildings and allows dollars to follow children to any school-or education option-that meets their unique learning needs.
CHOICE EMPOWERS PARENTS to direct their child's share of education funding, giving them options beyond an assigned government school.
CHOICE PRESSURES PUBLIC SCHOOLS with a much-needed competitive atmosphere, which works toward improving educational outcomes for students who take advantage of choice options as well as students who choose to attend their local public schools.
CHOICE HELPS KIDS. Seventeen states and Washington, D.C., now have private school choice programs-and more states are considering implementing choice options. Education choice represents the type of innovation and freedom that will provide long-overdue reform to the K-12 education system, and holds the potential to truly raise educational outcomes for every child across the country.
But at the same time this encouraging shift toward education choice is underway, there is a push to take education in the exact opposite direction through Common Core national standards and tests.
COMMON CORE IS an effort to centralize education by dictating the standards and assessments that will determine the content taught in every public school across the country.
COMMON CORE HAS NO EVIDENCE that it will improve academic outcomes or boost international competitiveness. But the Obama Administration has pushed states to adopt national standards and assessments in exchange for offers of billions of dollars in federal funding and waivers from the onerous provisions of No Child Left Behind.
COMMON CORE ASSUMES that top-down, uniform standards and assessments-driven by federal bureaucrats and national organizations-are preferable to the state and local reform efforts guided by input from parents, teachers, and taxpayers.
States have been competing to improve their education systems by implementing education choice options and other reforms such as alternative teacher certification, transparent A-F grading systems, and a focus on reading achievement. Check out innovations in:
American education is at a crossroads: One path leads toward further centralization and greater federal intervention. The other path leads toward robust education choice, including school choice and choice in curricula.
to
resist this latest federal overreach. National standards and tests are a challenge to educational freedom in America, and state and local leaders who believe in limited government should resist them.

RedState Morning Briefing
For May 29, 2013
1. Go Big or Go Home
In 1960, Barry Goldwater published The Conscience of a Conservative. In it, he noted
"Conservatism is not an economic theory, though it has economic implications. The shoe is precisely on the other foot: it is Socialism that subordinates all other considerations to man's material well-being. It is Conservatism that puts material things in their proper place - that has a structured view of the human being and of human society, in which economics plays only a subsidiary role.
"The root difference between the Conservatives and the Liberals of today is that Conservatives take account of the whole man, while Liberals tend to look only at the material side of man's nature."
Fifty-three years later that remains a constant. Unfortunately for conservatives, much of the hand-wringing over paths forward to victory involve haggling over taxes and balanced budgets and spending and debt to GDP ratios, etc. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
2. Ben Bernanke and the First Rule of Holes
I get that monetary policy is not really the sexiest or most interesting topic out there, especially in the midst of the Obama administration's current scandalpalooza. But the signs are mounting that the Fed's current course of action ought to start causing alarm for even the most casual consumer of news; and what's worse, the Fed appears to have no exit strategy at all from the current morass. Via today's Transom, Diana Furchtgott-Roth notes that Ben Bernanke continues to have no idea how long the Fed will travel its current, unprecedented policy path . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
3. First The IRS, Now Democrats Use DSCC To Smear Tea Party IRS Rallies
Guy Cecil is the Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and is credited with saving the senate for the Dems. He may also want the credit of defending the IRS against the scandal surrounding the government entity's targeting of tea party and Jewish groups. In a recent email to DSCC supporters, Cecil claims in an email fundraising appeal that tea partiers supported Nazis at IRS rallies, so you better give money to Democrat senators . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
4. Mitch McConnell, Electability, and Jim Bunning's Revenge
Back in 2009, Mitch McConnell made it clear to then-Senator Jim Bunning that it was time for him to retire. He claimed to be scared of losing the seat, and did everything he could to push Bunning into retirement. McConnell planned to easily inert his protégé, Trey Grayson, into the seat, but a man named Rand Paul upset the apple cart.
As the saying goes, whatever comes around goes around, and now the shoe is on the other foot. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
5. Persecution Myth?
One of the traditional purposes for studying History has been to learn from it, to see how past events can shed light on the present. This is possible assuming the history presented is true.
Unfortunately, in our postmodern era of relativism, history has become a malleable tool to justify one's philosophical and/or political inclinations-with all the wild anachronisms, projections, and conjectures that entails.
Happily, there is a little known antidote to these distorted revisionist histories. Ironically we can often learn about the past by looking at the present-for the patterns of human nature do not change. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Morning Jolt . . . with Jim Geraghty
May 28, 2013
Two Big Developments in Syria: McCain Visits, and Chemical Weapons Get Used More Regularly
I'm skeptical of Senator John McCain's argument that the United States ought to get a lot more involved in Syria. But I'll hand it to him, he's willing to go the extra mile to make his argument. In this case, the extra mile is . . . an extra mile past the Syrian border:
Sen. John McCain Monday became the highest-ranking U.S. official to enter Syria since the bloody civil war there began more than two years ago, The Daily Beast has learned.
McCain, one of the fiercest critics of the Obama administration's Syria policy, made the unannounced visit across the Turkey-Syria border with Gen. Salem Idris, the leader of the Supreme Military Council of the Free Syrian Army. He stayed in the country for several hours before returning to Turkey. Both in Syria and Turkey, McCain and Idris met with assembled leaders of Free Syrian Army units that traveled from around the country to see the U.S. senator. Inside those meetings, rebel leaders called on the United States to step up its support to the Syrian armed opposition and provide them with heavy weapons, a no-fly zone, and airstrikes on the Syrian regime and the forces of Hezbollah, which is increasingly active in Syria.
Oh, and according to war correspondents for Le Monde, consider that "red line" crossed, again and again:
Searching for words to describe the incongruous sound, he said it was like 'a Pepsi can that falls to the ground.' No odor, no smoke, not even a whistle to indicate the release of a toxic gas. And then the symptoms appear. The men cough violently. Their eyes burn, their pupils shrink, their vision blurs. Soon they experience difficulty breathing, sometimes in the extreme; they begin to vomit or lose consciousness. The fighters worst affected need to be evacuated before they suffocate.
Reporters from Le Monde witnessed this on several days in a row in this district, on the outskirts of Damascus, which the rebels entered in January. Since then, Jobar has become a key battleground for both the Free Syrian Army and the government. In two months spent reporting on the outskirts of the Syrian captial, we encountered similar cases across a much larger region. Their gravity, their increasing frequency and the tactic of using such arms shows that what is being released is not just tear gas, which is used on all fronts, but products of a different class that are far more toxic.
Supreme Court: We Call Dibs on Some of the News Cycles in the Coming Weeks
Not that your June looked to be quiet anyway, but get ready for some big Supreme Court decisions to come down in the coming weeks:
Four weeks. Four major legal rulings. What the Supreme Court decides by the end of June could fundamentally change lives and legacies on a range of politically explosive issues.
The justices will meet in at least five public sessions to release opinions in its remaining 30 cases, among them some the most strongly-contested legal and social issues they have confronted in decades:
-- Same-sex marriage: A pair of appeals testing whether gays and lesbian couples have a fundamental constitutional right to wed.
-- Affirmative action: May race continue to be used as a factor in college admissions, to achieve classroom diversity?
-- Voting rights: The future of the Voting Rights Act, and continued federal oversight of elections in states with a past history of discrimination.
-- Gene patents: Can "products of nature" like isolated parts of the human genome be held as the exclusive intellectual property of individuals and companies, through government-issued patents?
How Tragic Events Turn into Partisan Food-Fights, Faster than Ever Before
Let's examine a familiar pattern in news stories . . .
Something awful and shocking happens: A madman shoots up a kindergarten classroom. Two jihadist wannabes blow up the Boston Marathon. A tornado tears apart an Oklahoma City suburb. A group of jihadists in the United Kingdom behead a soldier leaving his barracks and then bark tirades to the passersby, hands dripping with blood.
Some of those horrific incidents tie into some sort of policy debate, but for most people, that's something to be addressed some time after a tragedy, not in the immediate moments after the news breaks. But almost immediately, people begin citing the horrible event as proof that their political worldview has been vindicated once again. Some writers seem to specialize in their ability to take a terrible event and have the first op-ed on an editor's desk, tying the shocking event to their preexisting policy preferences.
David Sirota may be the champion of this:
April 16: "Let's hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American."
May 16: "The Texas fertilizer plant explosion reveals that lax regulations are far more dangerous than any form of terrorism."
May 21: "Anyone regret slashing National Weather Service budget now? With GOP-backed cuts to forecasting agency, experts warn future storms will go undetected and more lives lost."
When people die suddenly and terribly, and an editorial-page editor needs a column to argue it's ultimately the fault of Republicans, Sirota's always there to step up.
These horrible events are all distinct and separate, but they hit us with big questions - e.g., how could this happen? Where was/is God? Why must the innocent suffer, and why must we live in a world where evil exists and can strike us without warning? Should the sudden death of others remind us to live each day like it's our last? How can you make long-term plans for the future, knowing that tragedy could strike at any time? Do we, or does any society, sufficiently thank and appreciate and honor those who risk and lose their lives in efforts to protect the rest of us?
Those are tough questions. The political questions are pretty easy by comparison - and I suspect some people eagerly turn to them after something terrible happens, because it's almost calming to turn one's attention to bashing the familiar scapegoat of the political opposition. We can't do anything to un-do the actions of jihadists, tornadoes, or a kindergarten gunman, but boy, can we tell the world how angry we are about the political opposition, who we're certain is really to blame for the terrible event.
Almost immediately after a terrible event - sometimes while they're still going on - we find someone throwing a political argument at us, sometimes some random yokel on Twitter, sometimes a semi-professional blame-thrower like Sirota. Naturally, the public square is full of people who hate leaving any argument or attack unanswered. Before you know it, just as you're getting your head around some sudden tragedy or abomination, you look up and your Twitter feed has become a food-fight of competing "how dare you!" shrieks.
This phenomenon is problematic for a lot of reasons. For one, each time this happens, the public debate becomes a little less focused on the terrible event, "X," and a little more on what somebody said about "X." Perhaps this is my cynicism showing, but I'm no longer surprised that people say terrible and stupid things after awful events. I'm starting to get skeptical about the need to treat obnoxious post-tragedy comments as newsworthy. Half of these are cries for attention, anyway.
Recently a conservative blogger pointed out some cretin attempting to raise money, making light of the death of a figure that many on the Right respect. Some folks wanted to blog more about this cretin and denounce him and call him out for his outrageously vile behavior, etc. Of course, the cretin wanted attention, and it's quite likely that his ultimate desire is precisely to get a bunch of conservative bloggers talking about how terrible he is, because that will bring his fundraising effort to the attention of more people. I would define vindication as his pathetic fundraising effort dying a quiet death - a reminder that no one wants to give him money to continue being obnoxious, no one really cares what he says or thinks, and that in the grand scheme of things, he doesn't really matter.
How widely could we get a "don't feed the trolls" policy adopted?
ADDENDUM: As mentioned earlier, Jonah Goldberg and I will be "guest bartending" at a National Review Happy Hour, held at our D.C. office at 233 Pennsylvania Avenue the evening of Thursday, May 30, starting around 6 p.m. It's being organized by a nascent women-focused NR group called "Conserva-Chicks" - clearly, no focus group examined that name - so attendance by those with two X chromosomes is particularly appreciated. New York Times bureau chiefs in Jerusalem are expected to set new standards for malicious bias and during his time there, Ethan Bronner was no exception. A bureau chief anywhere else in the world may be expected to explore the life and color of the city. But in Jerusalem, a New York Times scribe fills the same spot as the bitter goth kid working on the high school paper who is forced to review musicals put on by cheerleaders. What comes out the other end may have a distant resemblance to journalism, but is mostly just gallons of congealed bile. Ethan Bronner, who has moved up the New York Times totem pole from attacking Israel to attacking America, still visits the old country on occasion and still pens spiteful little pieces about how dumb and shallow the cheerleaders are. The latest Bronner missive sees him attending a wedding and grumbling at how happy everyone seems to be. At a "raucous wedding", Bronner finds that few people are interested in discussing "the Palestinians or the Arab world on their borders". Instead, "everyone was celebrating". And why wouldn't they be celebrating? It is a wedding. And people at weddings generally don't talk about the people trying to kill them. Average weddings in the United States don't involve detailed discussions of terrorism, even when New York Times reporters are in attendance. But Bronner's thesis is the same as the one put forward by John Kerry. "People in Israel aren't waking up every day and wondering if tomorrow there will be peace because there is a sense of security and a sense of accomplishment and of prosperity," Kerry complained. Israelis are having too many weddings and not suffering enough. The limited autonomy achieved in daily life what the peace process was supposed to. It's not just about the physical suffering of terrorism. What bothers Bronner is that Israelis aren't conscious of the grievances of their enemies. They don't carry the burden of guilt that comes from knowing that their border controls prevent Hamas from getting the weapons with which they could inflict more death and suffering on Israelis. The peace process is a myth because its end result was never meant to be peace. Instead it was meant to achieve exactly what it did achieve in the 90s. A state of terror. A way of life that would make every Israeli conscious of the terrorists and their demands all the time. That's not just their plan for Israel. It's their dream for the entire free world. A world liberated from its freedoms.

They knew this savage jihadist was a problem. There were multiple warnings.
"Staff at Full Sutton, which holds dozens of terrorists, said they had warned bosses about Khan's volatile temperament and insisted he was an increased security risk. They had wanted him moved into a segregation wing. But they claimed their pleas were ignored as jail chiefs did not want to risk stirring up trouble. A source said: "We could see this was coming but nothing was done. "The bosses were too worried about causing offence among terrorists to do their job properly.""And as a result, we are very lucky not to be dealing with the death of a prison officer."
They didn't want to risk offending savages. So they sacrifice their men.

Let me ask Atlas readers a logical question. What, if anything, could or would ever prompt you to plot to attack a Via Rail passenger train; to cause the death of "up to 100,000 people" by contaminating the air or water; to provide financial support and weapons to anti-government fighters in Syria, and to recruit other terrorists in North America?
Because this is the defense of Muslims caught before they could go jihad. Over and and over we hear that the FBI "lured" them.

MONTREAL-Supporters of Ahmed Abassi, a Tunisian man allegedly linked to a foiled Canadian terror plot, say an undercover FBI agent posing as an Egyptian businessman provided money, advice and the promise of a job if Abassi would come to the United States. U.S. court documents have already revealed that an undercover agent played a crucial role in the arrest of Abassi, a 26-year-old student at Quebec's Laval University. Passenger who theatened to blow up PIA passenger jet being arrested
New footage of terror suspect arrest taken by another passenger.
On May 24th, two British nationals of Pakistani descent were held on suspicion of endangering an aircraft. This latest terror scare follows the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby by Muslim fanatics.
The Pakistan International Airlines flight left Lahore at 9.35am local time and was due in at Manchester at 2pm before being diverted. TWO RAF jets were scrambled to intercept a Pakistani airliner after two passengers allegedly declared: "We're going to blow this plane up." Stunned crew launched a terror alert yesterday afternoon after the men reportedly started a scuffle by trying to force their way into the cockpit of the Manchester-bound airline.
The Typhoon war jets flew out from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire and escorted the Boeing 777 and its 297 passengers to Stansted in Essex.
Two British nationals aged 30 and 41 - who are said to be of Pakistani descent - were last night being held on suspicion of endangering an aircraft as cops scoured the plane for suspicious items. This latest terror scare follows the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby by Muslim fanatics.

Or as Turkish PM Erdogan has previously called them, "The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers."
Via Judicial Watch:
Most Americans probably don't realize that Turkey's Islamist government is building a colossal mosque in the United States with the input of several branches of a group known as the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda. It's an alarming story unlikely to receive coverage in the mainstream media, however, a nonprofit dedicated to exposing the dangers of Islamic extremism has posted information about the project on its website. The $100 million mega mosque will be erected in Lanham Maryland and is expected to "become the largest and most striking example of Islamic architecture in the western hemisphere" when it is finished in 2014. The massive facility, which will be called Turkish American Culture and Civilization Center, will span 15 acres and will feature five buildings, including a mosque "constructed using sixteenth century Ottoman architecture that can hold 750 worshipers." It will be a place that will help counter an epidemic of "Islamophobia" in the United States, according to Turkish government officials who recently visited the construction site. The delegation was led by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whose goals include increasing Islamist influence in America. Greeting Erdogan, who is transforming Turkey from a secular democracy to an Islamist state, on his recent visit to Maryland were leaders of two entities of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda. They include Naeem Baig, president of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) and Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

Producing 'Scandal Exhaustion' By Tom Blumer
The administration's apparent goal is to produce "scandal exhaustion," an exponentially advanced form of the "scandal fatigue" which served President Bill Clinton so well in the late 1990s. Team Obama also needs the populace to become so disillusioned that it ends up resigning itself to accepting their current "new normal" economic circumstances as the best they can ever hope to see.

THIS PART YOU DON'T KNOW, BUT SHOULD.
AMERICAN VALOR, BENGHAZI, LIBYA:
The stunning part of this story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction. The news has been full of the attacks on our embassies throughout the Muslim world, and in particular, the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others in Benghazi, Libya. However, there's a little known story of incredible bravery, heroics, and courage that should be the top story. So what actually happened at the U.S. embassy in Libya? We are learning more about this every day. Ambassador Stevens and Foreign Service officer Sean Smith, along with administrative staff, were working out of temporary quarters due to the fact that in the spring of 2011 during the so-called Arab Spring, the United States cut ties with then president Moammar Gadhafi. Our embassy was looted and ransacked, causing it to be unusable. It is still in a state of disrepair. Security for embassies and their personnel is to be provided by the host nation. Since Libya has gone through a civil war of sorts in the past 18 months, the current government is very unstable, and therefore, unreliable A well-organized attack by radical Muslims was planned specifically targeting the temporary U.S. embassy building. The Libyan security force that was in place to protect our people deserted their post, or joined the attacking force. Either way, our people were in a real fix. And it should be noted that Ambassador Stevens had mentioned on more than one occasion to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, that he was quite concerned for his personal safety and the welfare of his people. It is thought that Ambassador Stevens was on a "hit list." A short distance from the American compound, two Americans were sleeping. They were in Libya as independent contractors working an assignment totally unrelated to our embassy. They also happened to be former Navy Seal's. When they heard the noise coming from the attack on our embassy, as you would expect from highly trained warriors, they ran to the fight. Apparently, they had no weapons, but seeing the Libyan guards dropping their guns in their haste in fleeing the scene, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty snatched up several of these discarded weapons and prepared to defend the American compound. Not knowing exactly what was taking place, the two Seal's set up a defensive perimeter. Unfortunately Ambassador Stevens was already gravely injured, and Foreign Service officer, Sean Smith, was dead. However, due to their quick action and suppressive fire, twenty administrative personnel in the embassy were able to escape to safety. Eventually, these two courageous men were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers brought against them, an enemy force numbering between 100 to 200 attackers which came in two waves. But the stunning part of the story is that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed 60 of the attacking force. Once the compound was overrun, the attackers were incensed to discover that just two men had inflicted so much death and destruction. As it became apparent to these selfless heroes, they were definitely going to lose their lives unless some reinforcements showed up in a hurry. As we know now, that was not to be. I'm fairly certain they knew they were going to die in this gun fight, but not before they took a whole lot of bad guys with them! Consider these tenets of the Navy SEAL Code: 1) Loyalty to Country, Team and Teammate, 2) Serve with Honor and Integrity On and Off the Battlefield, 3) Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never Quit, 4) Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your teammates, 5) Excel as Warriors through Discipline and Innovation, 6) Train for War, Fight to Win, Defeat our Nation's Enemies, and... 7) Earn your Trident every day (http://www.navyseals.com/seal-code-warrior-creed). Thank you, Tyrone and Glen. To the very last breath, you both lived up to the SEAL Code. You served all of us well. You were courageous in the face of certain death. And Tyrone, even though you never got to hold your newborn son, he will grow up knowing the character and quality of his father, a man among men who sacrificed himself defending others. Dr. Charles R. Roots Senior Pastor Former Staff Sergeant, USMC Captain, U. S. Navy Chaplain Corps (Ret.) This should be passed on and on and on. NO TRUE AMERICAN WOULD OBJECT TO RECEIVING THIS MORE THAN ONCE ... SO PASS IT ON And Let us never forget the Hillary Clinton Comment "What Difference Does It Make?" May 28, 2013 "How many ignored warnings does it take?" Douglas Murray of the London-based Henry Jackson society wrote an excellent column last week for The Wall Street Journal (see below). The subtitle states, "Britain has been in denial about the Islamist threat." So true. It's very disturbing that this same denial permeates the thinking of far too many of America's political, academic, media, counterterrorism and law enforcement leadership. An Associated Press story over the weekend, referring to President Obama's national security speech late last week, began this way: "Some call it wishful thinking, but President Barack Obama has all but declared an end to the global war on terror." The reason Obama has done so is because he sees only al Qaida and its affiliates as a threat. Doing so misses the point. The point is the "war on terror" is not confined to one organization and is not limited by geography, but is defined by those who subscribe to jihadist ideology. Denial won't change this fact. Our federal government continues to lead us down the very same path that has failed so miserably in Great Britain and much of Europe.
The London Terror Attack Was More Than 'Unforgivable' Britain has been in denial about the Islamist threat. Time to face it down. DOUGLAS MURRAY London How many ignored warnings does it take? That is one question that should hang over Britain after the horror of the daytime murder of a British soldier on the streets of south London. On Wednesday afternoon, Drummer Lee Rigby was killed in Woolwich by two men wielding large knives and shouting "Allahu akbar"-God is great. Islamists have been saying for years they would do this. They have planned to do it. And now they have done it. The attack itself is not surprising. What is surprising is that British society remains so utterly unwilling not just to deal with this threat, but even to admit its existence. Politicians have called the Woolwich killing "unforgivable" and "barbarous." But expressions of anger should not really be enough. Read more:

House Judiciary investigating whether Holder lied under oath By Jonathan Easley
The House Judiciary Committee is investigating whether Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath during his May 15 testimony on the Justice Department's (DOJ) surveillance of reporters, an aide close to the matter told The Hill.
The panel is looking at a statement Holder made during a back and forth with Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) about whether the DOJ could prosecute reporters under the Espionage Act of 1917.
"In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material - this is not something I've ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy," Holder said during the hearing.
However, NBC News reported last week that Holder personally approved a search warrant that labeled Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen a co-conspirator in a national security leaks case.
The panel is investigating whether NBC's report contradicts Holder's claim that he had not looked into or been involved with a possible prosecution of the press in a leaks case.

UN Still Seeks To Override Our 2nd Amendment
| |
On JUNE 3rd, the United Nations will release their Arms Trade Treaty to member nations for ratification.
President Obama has indicated his willingness to sign it, and it will then move to the Senate for ratification.
Adopting this U.N. treaty means the international body of the United Nations will override our Second Amendment. Tell Congress to vote no!
Fax Congress Now!
The ATT will regulate the trade of large arms (such as tanks, helicopters and missiles) and also, "Small arms and light weapons," the definition of which is "weapons designed for individual use, including" but not limited to "revolvers and self-loading pistols, rifles and carbines, sub machine guns, assault rifles and light machine guns." It will:
· Enact tougher licensing requirements, making it almost impossible for you, an individual, to own a firearm
· Require the government to confiscate firearms owned by individuals
· Place further restrictions on the sale of arms
· Create an international gun registry
· Give foreign nations access to your personal data
Join the Conversation on Facebook
For years, the United Nations has been working on an Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) that would regulate small arms on a global scale. President George W. Bush took the U.S. out of negotiations, because he did not want any involvement in a treaty that would infringe on our Second Amendment rights. Barack Obama put us back at the table.
And now, we are faced with a threat to our sovereignty and our Bill of Rights. What Congress couldn't get done by legislation after the Sandy Hook tragedy, the United Nations will accomplish on June 03rd with the stroke of a pen!
Do not be fooled by liberals trying to play off this treaty as nothing. It will establish an international bureaucracy that will regulate and strictly control all arms, ammunition and parts -and if our country signs on to it, it will lessen our Second Amendment rights and eventually eliminate them. The treaty has been marketed as a way to keep weapons out of the hands of dictators and terrorists, but it is an international attack on private gun ownership and will essentially regulate our Second Amendment rights.
Fax Congress now and tell them to stop this international intrusion. Tell them to defend our Constitution, save our right to bear arms, and keep America free from international control.
Click Here to Fax Congress Now!
Sincerely,

Conservative Daily

FBI Locks Up an Afghanistan Marine Veteran, Because He's Nuts.
Written by Gary North on May 22, 2013
The FBI arrested a man because he posted inflammatory material on Facebook. They say he is crazy. They put him in a mental institution.
On whose word? A psychologist, who spent 15 minutes with him.
That is all it takes in America for the FBI to get you.
His mother started posting on Facebook about this. The posts went viral.
My friend John Whitehead, a Constitutional lawyer, intervened. He runs the Rutherford Institute. The Institute is named after Samuel Rutherford, the Scottish theologian who wrote Lex Rex, and who was part of the Puritan revolt against King Charles I.
Whitehead says that every year in the state of Virginia, 20,000 people are forcibly incarcerated for mental illness.
This is surely very good business for people running mental facilities. It's guaranteed business.
A judge has granted him his freedom. If his mother's Facebook posts had not gone viral, and if Whitehead had not intervened, he would still be locked up.
What does this tell me? That Facebook can beat the government. The FBI went after him because of Facebook, and the case blew up on them after his mother posted her articles on Facebook.
I searched Google for "Brandon Raub." I got 97,000 hits.
The government gets more lawless, but technology is ahead of the government.
See Whitehead's interview of Raub here.

FORBES: The Obamacare Insurance Exchange Train Is Already Coming Off The Rails

By Sally Pipes "Gary Cohen, who's in charge of the implementation of Obamacare's exchanges, said in March that the federal government will likely end up running some of the exchanges in the 17 states that elected to set them up on their own because they won't be ready in time. Even the states the administration has paraded around as "pioneers" are having trouble creating government-run insurance marketplaces out of whole cloth. Connecticut, the first state approved to set up an exchange, is now struggling to get it up and running. Colorado is "stripping its opening-day goals to a minimum." Federal officials have struggled to come up with a comprehensible application form. Their first effort reached 15 pages. After a round of criticism, they came back with a form that's three pages for individuals - and seven pages for families. Henry Chao, a senior federal official working on the information technology that will run the exchanges, said in March that he was "pretty nervous" about meeting the October 1 deadline and was reduced to hoping that the exchanges don't end up being "a Third World experience."" Check out Rand Paul's Hilarious Comic Act on
ObamaCare

Rand Paul might have a career in standup comedy if his 2016 Presidential run doesn't work out. It's hard to argue with the points Rand makes.
Check it out:
In a little-noticed speech to the Iowa Republican Party this month, Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul mocked President Obama's signature health care overhaul, noting the 122,000 new medical diagnostic codes doctors will have to use in order to inform the government about injuries sustained by Americans.
Those codes, said Sen. Paul, a medical doctor himself, include line-items for 'injuries sustained from a turtle,' 'walking into a lamppost' and 'injuries sustained from burning water skis.'
Paul has attracted attention in recent weeks for spending time in the Hawkeye State, because it' will be among the first states to weigh in during the 2016 Republican presidential primary season.

Fox News vs. the Cult of Obama |
|
by Joel B Pollak
It is impossible to understand the Obama administration's uniquely hostile treatment of Fox News without understanding the self-image of the Obama team. On the one hand, the targeting of Fox News for isolation and surveillance suggests an administration so lacking in competence that it cannot tolerate criticism or scrutiny. On the other, the attacks suggest hubris, a confidence that few would ever object to its conduct.
That contradiction has a religious quality to it. Indeed, President Barack Obama has led an administration that has, at times, been more of a religious movement than a governing body. Obama has made miraculous promises of political and planetary transformation; he has encouraged a cult-like following, even among formerly skeptical journalists; and he has constructed a demonology of his opponents, real and imagined.

Byron York reports that Marco Rubio's support for "comprehensive immigration reform" is seriously harming his standing with Iowa Republicans. Byron bases this conclusion on responses he received from leading Iowa Republicans to an email that asked a few general questions about the GOP field, without mentioning immigration.
The responses were "all about immigration, and nearly all negative." GOP State Central Committee member Jamie Johnson said:
Over the last three months, Marco Rubio's name and face and voice have been so attached to the comprehensive immigration bill that it has virtually killed any enthusiasm among Republicans in Iowa for a Rubio presidential candidacy. Most Republicans here now see Rubio as the amnesty candidate.
Sioux City conservative radio host Sam Clovis added:
Rubio has hurt himself immeasurably with his support of the current immigration bill. The rule of law still trumps all the feel-good aspects of the bill.
There is a lesson here for congressional Republicans considering how to vote on amnesty. That lesson is: do so at your peril.
Immigration reform isn't the focus of most conservatives right now. They are worried more about the debt and focused more on various Obama administration scandals. Conservatives are aware that Marco Rubio joined John McCain, Chuck Schumer and others to support amnesty and, as Byron's report suggests, they aren't happy about this.
But I suspect that most conservatives are confident the Republican House will never agree to amnesty, much less a path to citizenship, for illegal immigrants. Thus, immigration is a back-burner issue for them; their outrage is directed elsewhere.
If Congress enacts amnesty legislation, however, I think we'll see an explosion of shock and outrage. Naturally, the outrage will be directed primarily at the Republican members of Congress who voted for the legislation (though some will also be directed at the House leadership for not blocking the fiasco). Such members should not be surprised if they find themselves facing very uncomfortable primary fights.
One Iowa Republican activist told Byron that amnesty will be "a separator issue, for sure" in the Iowa caucuses. I believe that, come primary time in 2016, it will also be a separator issue for more than a few congressional Republicans who take the plunge with Marco Rubio.

The Dole-ful Countenance
Posted: 28 May 2013 11:24 AM PDT
(Steven Hayward)
When you research and assemble a long account of any subject, as I did with my two-volume Age of Reagan project, you make unexpected discoveries along the way. Two in particular stand out: first, that the CIA is mostly a bunch a blundering boobs (more on this some other time perhaps), and second, that Bob Dole is a total heel. That's why I long ago came refer to him as "Blob Dough."
Dole is back in the news over the last couple of days for having gone Full Ornstein on us, as Kerry Picket recounts at Breitbart:
Former Senate Majority Leader and 1996 GOP Presidential nominee Bob Dole excoriated the Republican Party on Fox News Sunday, saying the Party lacked new ideas and engaged in too much obstructionist activity in the upper chamber.
"They ought to put a sign on the National Committee doors that says 'Closed for repairs,' until New Year's Day next year and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas," he said.
Additionally, Dole remarked that not only was he doubtful he could "make it" in today's Republican Party, but he believes Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon could not make it either in the current GOP, saying, "Reagan couldn't have made it. Certainly, Nixon couldn't have made it, because he had ideas. We might've made it, but I doubt it.
And whoa: Olympia Snowe says "Dole is right," so I guess that settles it.
I guess we shouldn't be surprised, since Dole once explained that he only became a Republican because there were more of them in Kansas when he decided to enter politics. What a man of thought and conviction. By the way, Dole is not the only modern senator to hail from Russell, Kansas. The other: Arlen Specter. Did they ever test the water there?
As senator Dole turned out to be a perfect example of a DC Republican suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome. Having fully assimilated the premises of Washington, there was seldom a budget cut he supported, or a proposed tax increase he didn't like. And of course, a clear sign of Dole's establishment leanings came from the "strange new respect" the media rewarded him with whenever he broke with Reagan, as I survey in Age of Reagan II:
The same media editorialists who expressed incredulity at Reagan's resistance to tax hikes showered Dole with accolades. The Boston Globe praised "Pitchfork Bob Dole, the latter day populist from Kansas" for lifting the "fairness issue" from Democrats. Kevin Phillips, engaged in his own crabwalk to the left at that time, said Dole's leadership on the tax hike "moves him right up in the 1984 presidential sweepstakes." Time magazine ran photos of Dole striking statesmanlike poses to along with the prose praise: "Dole has mellowed and matured . . . shunning rigid ideology." The New Republic editorialized, "Who would have thought that Senator Bob Dole would emerge as the loophole-closing hero of 1982"? The Baltimore Sun declared 1982 to be "the year of Bob Dole," and Ralph Nader's Public Citizen group hailed Dole for being "the architect of the best tax reform bill in history." Roland Evans and Robert Novak attacked Dole as the "new McGovern," and as if on cue, George McGovern himself joined the chorus, uttering the words conservatives dread to hear about one of their own: "Bob Dole has grown." As The American Spectator's Tom Bethell had become weary of pointing out, "grown in office" is a Beltway euphemism for "moved to the left." Conservatives have a phrase for this: it is the "strange new respect" phenomenon. The Ripon Society, the last bastion of dwindling Republican liberalism, certified Dole's new status by naming him its Man of the Year.
Maybe I'm starting to understand why he became a Viagra pitchman. Or perhaps he's just hard of hearing; he thought doctors were promising a cure for his "electile dysfunction." To quote Dole: "Where's the outrage in America?"

Marco Rubio is "our Republican," says Chuck Schumer - and with good reason
Posted: 28 May 2013 07:01 AM PDT
(Paul Mirengoff)
In his chronically disingenuous media appearances on behalf of amnesty, Marco Rubio always insists that he wants to improve the Schumer-Rubio bill. Rubio has to say this to retain credibility among conservatives who doubt the government's ability and willingness to enforce all but the most airtight border security measures - a doubt that Rubio purports to share. Thus, Rubio pledges that he is open to, and even desirous of, sensible amendments to his legislation.
What Rubio doesn't say is that his vote on all amendments is directed by Chuck Schumer and the other Democratic members of the Gang of Eight. Yet, that is the case, as this report from the Washington Post makes clear.
Actually, it was Chuck Schumer who made it clear. When Jeff Sessions proposed an amendment to bar illegal immigrants from receiving welfare until they obtain a green card, Schumer leaned over to an aid and whispered, "Do our Republicans have a pass on this one?"
The import of this comment, which was picked up an open microphone, was obvious - Rubio could only vote for amendments that Schumer and his fellow Democrats oppose if Schumer gave him "a pass." In that case, the Gang of Eight would split its vote and the amendment would be defeated by the Judiciary Committee, which the Dems control. This is what happened to Sessions' amendment on welfare benefits for illegal immigrants.
Schumer, however, did not grant "his Republicans" many passes. Instead, the Gang almost always voted together. And, of course, the only amendments that passed were ones backed by Schumer and his fellow Democrats.
Thus, when Rubio tells conservatives that he welcomes amendments and that he has insisted on a process under which such amendments will receive fair consideration, what he means is this: he welcomes amendments that Chuck Schumer permits him to welcome, and the process is such that no other amendments will be adopted.
The result is a bill with border security provisions whose effectiveness Rubio cannot, and does not, defend. And the position that Rubio offers in lieu of a defense - let's improve the bill through amendments - is fraudulent. Unless you trust Chuck Schumer to call the tune on border security.
UPDATE/CORRECTION: Sen. Rubio's office reminds me that Rubio is not a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Thus, he did not vote on any amendments to his bill. I thank the Senator's staff for prompting this correction to my post.
Nonetheless, Rubio is sponsoring this legislation, and says he would like to see it improved through the amendment process. Thus, it seems incumbent on Rubio to speak out in support of amendments he favors. To my knowledge, he hasn't spoken out in support of any amendments not backed by Chuck Schumer and the other Democrats in the Gang of Eight. If I'm wrong about this, I hope the Senator's office will correct me.
Moreover, the Washington Post, in the story linked to above, reports that "the eight [members of the Gang of Eight] met in private before each committee hearing hashing out which amendments they would support and which oppose as a united coalition." If this is true, then Rubio clearly was in the loop on the amendment process, even though he couldn't vote.
But even if Rubio wasn't at the meetings where amendments were hashed out, it still appears that he will not break ranks with Schumer on amendments unless Schumer gives him a "pass." He thus allows Schumer to call the shots on border security and all other issues.

Mr. Holder regrets
Posted: 28 May 2013 06:52 AM PDT
(Scott Johnson)
Eric Holder doesn't need to be as creative as Cole Porter in expressing regrets. He's got Daniel Klaidman doing public relations for him in the risible Daily Beast article "Holder's regrets and repairs." Klaidman gives a source close to Holder anonymity in order to deliver a limp noodle such as this:
As one of Holder's advisers put it, the message was: "Look we get it. We understand why this is so controversial, and we're ready to make changes to find the right balance." At the same time, Holder enlisted their help to get a media-shield law passed in Congress. (On Sunday, Schumer announced the formation of a bipartisan "gang of eight" to press for the legislation.)
But Klaidman doesn't stop there. He goes to Holder himself the for the deep stuff:
In an interview, Holder acknowledged that there was considerable room for improvement in how Justice handles leak cases, casting the episode as a kind of teaching moment for his department and himself. "While both of these cases were handled within the law and according to Justice Department guidelines," he told The Daily Beast, "they are reminders of the unique role the news media plays in our democratic system, and signal that both our laws and guidelines need to be updated." He added, "This is an opportunity for the department to consider how we strike the right balance between the interests of law enforcement and freedom of the press."
John Ashcroft was not available for comment.

Chinese shadows
Posted: 28 May 2013 04:29 AM PDT
(Scott Johnson)
Bret Stephens took up the subject of what he called "China eco-boosterism" in his Wall Street Journal column last week (behind the Journal's subscription wall). It put those dead pigs that turned up floating down the Whampoa river earlier this year in a cruel, if familiar, American context:
Once upon a time the future belonged to China-and China was going to be green. Greener than the hills of olde England.
"China is pulling ahead on the environment," was the title of a 2009 column in Forbes. "China is pushing ahead on renewable technologies with the fervor of a new space race," Peter Ford reported in the Christian Science Monitor the same year. "Green Giant" was the title of a 7,000-word thumbsucker by Evan Osnos in the New Yorker, which spelled out the scale of the Chinese government's investment in green tech.
And there was this: "Being in China right now," wrote Tom Friedman of the New York Times in January 2010, "I am more convinced than ever that when historians look back at the end of the first decade of the 21st century, they will say that the most important thing to happen was not the Great Recession, but China's Green Leap Forward. The Beijing leadership understands that the E.T.- Energy Technology-revolution is both a necessity and an opportunity, and they do not intend to miss it."
Well, all of us columnists have off days.
The heady optimism of four years ago has now given way to more sober views, thanks to the accretion of facts. Facts like 16,000 dead pigs floating down Shanghai's Whampoa river in March. Or the worst air pollution on record in Beijing in January, with levels of tiny particulate matter reaching levels 25 times higher than the standard in the U. S. Or 80% of the East China Sea lost to fishing because of the pollution, according to Elizabeth Economy of the Council on Foreign Relations. Or 1.2 million premature deaths due to air pollution, according to the Global Burden of Disease Study.
Another nugget: "A recent social media campaign led by locals and international activists shed light on the growing phenomena of 'cancer villages'-areas where water pollution is so bad that it has led to a sharp rise in diseases like stomach cancer," wrote Thomas Thompson last month in Foreign Affairs. "The China Geological Survey now estimates that 90% of China's cities depend on polluted groundwater supplies. Water that has been purified at treatment plants is often recontaminated en route to homes."
In the conclusion of his column, Stephens alludes again to the obnoxious Tom Friedman:
Western liberals adore the China model because they think being "China for one day" can force the kind of sweeping environmental legislation that democratic, interest-group driven politics prevents.
But the biggest reason China is so filthy isn't a lack of environmental legislation. It's rampant corner-cutting by unaccountable politicians and managers at state-owned enterprises trying to meet production quotas. Statism always wrecks the environment.
That's a lesson you might have thought Western liberals would have learned following the collapse of the Soviet Union and all the environmental rot it exposed. Instead, it didn't even occur to them that enthusing about a "Green Leap Forward" didn't exactly hark back to an auspicious historical precedent.
In his conclusion Stephens was of course alluding to Mao's so-called Great Leap Forward. Stephens turned to the epic famine of the Great Leap Forward in the Journal's Weekend Interview column profiling Yang Jisheng, the author of Tombstone: The Great Chinese Famine, 1958-1962, the authoritative new history of China's Maoist catastrophe. Stephens's column on Jisheng is "Reading Hayek in Beijing." The Journal has made this column freely available and I urge you to check it out.
Arthur Waldron's review/essay on Jisheng's book, "Starving in China," leads the May issue of the New Criterion. According to Professor Waldron in this lucid essay, "Tombstone is one of the most important books-not just China books-of our time." Professor Waldron's essay is itself must reading.

Tuesday, May 28, 2013 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer Perjury In Holder's Future? Attorney General Eric Holder may be in hot water. The House Judiciary Committee is investigating whether Holder committed perjury during his testimony on the Associated Press phone records scandal two weeks ago. During an exchange with Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) on whether the Justice Department could use the 1917 Espionage Act to prosecute reporters, Holder said:
"In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material -- this is not something I've ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy."
But as we told you Friday, that is not true. NBC News reported that Holder personally signed off on the warrant authorizing the seizure of Fox News reporter James Rosen's email and phone records -- specifically citing the Espionage Act and labeling Rosen a possible criminal co-conspirator. Attorney General Holder has already been held in contempt of Congress for refusing to release documents on Operation Fast and Furious. He has stayed in his position because the president supports him. But now even the liberals at the Huffington Post are demanding Holder step down. Amnesty Bill In Jeopardy? For months we have been told that the "stars are aligned" for comprehensive immigration reform to finally pass Congress and be signed into law. But last week the quasi-amnesty bill that is such a priority for President Obama and his Democrat allies took a couple of unexpected hits.
- Two unions that represent law enforcement and immigration officials announced their opposition to the Senate's bill, citing its lack of border and interior enforcement. A recent Fox News poll found that 73% of voters want improved border security measures implemented BEFORE any other reforms take effect.
- Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) stunned many in Washington when he said the bill doesn't yet have the 60 votes needed to pass. Political and media elites have been chattering about the bill getting as many as 70 votes in the Senate.
- Thursday the House GOP leadership issued a joint statement effectively declaring the Senate's bill "dead on arrival." Its statement read in part, "While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which the House will approach the issue differently. The House remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system, but we will not simply take up and accept the bill that is emerging in the Senate if it passes."
Obamacare Backlash Grows The implementation of Obamacare kicks into high gear on January 1, 2014. As the calendar counts down, even some of the president's liberal allies are finding it impossible to square Obama's rhetoric with reality. One labor union, the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, has already called for the "repeal or complete reform" of Obamacare. Now other unions are speaking out. Joe Hansen, president of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, essentially accused Obama of lying. Hansen told the Associated Press, "[Obamacare] makes an untruth out of what the president said -- that if you like your insurance, you could keep it. That is not going to be true for millions of workers now." Union bosses assumed that their concerns would be addressed after the 2012 election. In January, a top Teamsters leader said, "We are going back to the administration to say that this is not acceptable." But despite private talks with administration officials, the unions have failed in their attempts to change the law. As a result, they are warning that Democrats could suffer in next year's election. Harold Schaitberger, president of the International Association of Firefighters, warned, "It started out with some anxiety, and I think it's translated into more anger." I have no expectation that Mr. Schaitberger will become a card-carrying member of the Tea Party movement anytime soon. But Democrats should be worried. Union members who are just now learning the truth are not the only ones upset with Obamacare. Obamacare Deeply Unpopular Barack Obama and congressional Democrats rammed through Obamacare in 2010 after convincing themselves that the public would embrace the healthcare takeover legislation over time. But three years later, two recent polls indicate that Obamacare still remains deeply unpopular. A CNN poll released yesterday found 54% of adults opposed Obamacare, while just 43% supported it. Last week a Fox News poll found that 56% of voters thought it would be better "to go back to the health care system that was in place in 2009." Just 34% felt we should keep Obamacare. There was no good news for liberals. Looking ahead, only 26% voters expect Obamacare will make health care better, while 53% say health care will be worse off in the future if Obamacare remains in effect. Even voters 35 and under wanted to get rid of Obamacare by a 20-point margin of 55%-to-35%. MVP Player On Defense Over Marriage The Minnesota Viking's Adrian Peterson is the NFL's Most Valuable Player for his offensive stats, but he's playing defense today for daring to defend normal marriage. During a recent interview, Peterson was asked his thoughts about Vikings punter Chris Kluwe, an outspoken advocate for same-sex marriage. Here's what Peterson said:
"I have relatives who are gay. I'm not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love 'em. But again, I'm not with that. That's not something I believe in."
Clearly, Peterson is not a hater. He was simply voicing the opinion of many Americans, including the president of the United States, at least up to one year ago. No doubt Peterson has seen what has happened to athletes who voice opposition to the gay agenda. Yet he still has the courage to speak up. As I write this, he is probably living through a nightmare worse than anything he has confronted on the football field. By the time the sun goes down today, Peterson will likely feel like he doesn't have a friend in the world. (Remember Chris Culliver?) The gay rights smear machine will do its best to make an example out of Peterson. Marketing gurus and investment counselors will tell Peterson he must apologize if he hopes to hold on to any lucrative endorsement contracts. The Vikings management may force him to go through "sensitivity training." Men and women of faith who believe in normal marriage should not be afraid to speak out! Please let Adrian Peterson know that you stand with him. Click here to leave a comment on his Facebook page.

White House prepares Lois Lerner for burial in IRS scandal

by Doug Book, Editor
On May 21st, leftist bloggers and columnists were summoned to the West Wing for the purpose of planning the summary execution of IRS Exempt Organizations Director Lois Lerner. Two of the three known to have attended the meeting-Josh Marshall and Ezra Klein-published scathing attacks against Lerner the very next day, just as the IRS fall-girl was butchering a well-publicized 5th Amendment pleading before Darrell Issa's House Government Oversight Committee. The call for Lerner's scalp was immediately seconded by Democrat congressman and Committee ranking member Elijah Cummings who stated that Lerner "...should be fired for her role in the scandal." (2) Massachusetts Democrat Stephen Lynch went so far as to compare Lerner's targeting of conservative organizations with "...the practice of tyrannical regimes that enact human rights on paper but fail to honor them in practice." Gang of Eight Bill Now Exceeds 1,000 Pages, Still Does Nothing to Secure the Border
The Gang of Eight's "comprehensive" immigration reform bill now exceeds 1,000 pages after the Senate Judiciary Committee's amendment process. Alternatives to BSA, encourage your church to drop its charter
Compromised Values, Compromised Value - The moral foundations of the BSA have crumbled
May 28, 2013
I want to thank you for standing with us on the Boy Scout issue. Like you, we were extremely disappointed when we learned the BSA did the unimaginable and chose to allow openly homosexual boys to become Boy Scouts. The Scout motto is to be "morally straight." This is neither moral or straight. Adult leaders are the ones who voted here. They let the boys down bigtime.
But the implications of this decision go much deeper. Because the BSA has opened the doors to "sexual preference," it is simply a matter of time before those with a variety of unnatural behaviors apply for membership.
Already, the push is being made to allow homosexual leaders. Within 24 hours of the decision, activist groups were demanding the BSA expand its gay policy. They will be relentless until the BSA caves again. You can expect this will happen very soon.
It will become mandatory on January 1, 2014, that all BSA sponsors - including churches - allow open and practicing homosexuals to join. Churches that refuse could face lawsuits and public protests.
I encourage you to continue to take a stand with us. The BSA has made its decision, now make yours by taking these immediate actions:
- 1. If you are in scouting, or have a son or grandson in scouting, show your convictions by resigning from the organization. Your dropped membership will send a strong message that your values are steadfast, faithful, and unchangeable.
- 2. If your church charters a scouting unit, contact the pastor and scouting committee members. Urge the church to drop the charter based on the truth of God's word and Christian values.
- 3. Find an alternative to the BSA. We have compiled a list of faith-based organizations that promote scouting-type activities from a Christian perspective.
NOTE: OnMyHonor.Net, along with other like-minded organizations, parents and BSA members, has announced a coalition meeting that will take place next month in Louisville, Kentucky, to discuss the creation of a new character development organization for boys.

Surprise! Obamacare strikes again
Slowly but surely Obamacare makes the transformation from a really bad policy to a really bad policy in action. Companies that offer premium insurance plans have been punished for doing so, and now doctors will have to conform to a massive list of codes for every imaginable scenario. Glenn played the clip of Sen. Rand Paul exposing the ridiculousness that is Obamacare. WATCH

A new poll reveals 72% of Americans believe morals in the nation are getting worse, but perhaps more shockingly 20% feel they are getting better. It's not exactly easy to determine what planet those 20% are living on, but one thing appears clear - it's not this one. Glenn reacts to the poll and talks solution on radio today.
Kid says prayer at HS graduation, left freaks
A high school in Kentucky has a tradition of beginning the graduation ceremony with a prayer, and despite some opposition, the tradition continued this year. Even after reminding the audience they didn't have to pray if they didn't want to, some are still complaining. See Glenn's reaction HERE.

Other residents could hear the cries coming from their toilets. Amazingly, the baby is doing fine. Glenn reacts to the incredible story on radio today.
Huh? John McCain travels to Syria to meet with Rebel leaders
It has been widely reported that the Syrian opposition force is made up of many different elements, including radical groups like Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. So why would John McCain secretly travel to Syria for what amounted to a photo op with the Syrian Rebels? Glenn explains on radio today.
