Is Tamerlan Tsarnaev the New Lee Harvey Oswald?

The claim that the Russians somehow "warned" the U.S. about Tamerlan Tsarnaev's radical Islamic connections has been accepted by most news organizations and commentators as established fact. But while U.S. intelligence agencies have a lot to explain, the Russian security services have been treated with kid gloves and even as the "good guys" in this affair.
Russian media, including the English-language propaganda channel Russia Today (RT), have been insisting that the U.S. is to blame for the Boston bombings because vague "warnings" from Moscow were ignored.
It is reminiscent of when Lee Harvey Oswald, a pro-Castro Marxist who had traveled back and forth to Russia, assassinated President John F. Kennedy, and the Russian KGB promptly launched a disinformation campaign in the media blaming right-wingers in Dallas and the CIA for the murder. The Soviets-and the Cubans-were determined to obscure their links to the assassin.
The obvious question in this case is: If the Russian intelligence agencies were suspicious of the brother's terror ties, why did they not arrest and imprison him?
The Moscow regime of Vladimir Putin, a former Soviet KGB officer, rules with an iron fist and has supposedly been waging a vicious war against Muslim terrorists within its own borders. So why would they let a suspected terrorist from America come and go at will? And why, if Tamerlan Tsarnaev had a grudge against the Russians over their handling of those Muslim regions in Russia, did he attack the U.S. and not Russia?
There is something about the Russian angle that doesn't add up.

This is a two-part article. The first part pertains to American counter-terrorism experts not truly understanding the Islamic ideology and the second part pertains to the solutions we must take. The second part is also an introduction to Americans of the severity of foreign nationals working on our U.S. military bases and suddenly disappearing into underground Islamic sleeper cells.
During my counter-terrorism work I have the great opportunity to speak with Americans who understand Islam and are trying to educate others about the dangers Islam and Sharia create for our beautiful country. There are organizations such as ACT For America and FrontPage Magazine that are doing outstanding work. There are Americans who belong to no organization and they are doing outstanding work. I respect all who are educating Americans.
There is one major error many organizations and well-intended people make when discussing Islamic issues. There is hardly a day goes by that I don't speak with someone who uses the terms 'Radical Islam and Radical Muslims'. Using these terms causes great harm to our country and the movement by conservatives to show the dangers of Islam. I ask many of the people who use these terms if they believe the Islamic ideology itself is dangerous. Most agree that Islam and Sharia are very dangerous and America's number one security threat. At the same time some of these people commonly use 'Radical Islam and Radical Muslims' in their writings and lectures to the American public. If you truly believe the Islamic ideology is dangerous and harmful to our country and children, you must at once cease from using these terms.
Let me explain why. If you say 'Radical Islam and Radical Muslims' then you are saying that in reality Islam is peaceful, a good religion, and has its place in American society. You are saying that Islam has been 'hijacked' by a few 'Radical Muslims' and the Radical Muslims' are misinterpreting the Islamic ideology that was founded by Prophet Mohammed. Most of us know that the pure and simple Islam is dangerous and we want no part of it to be in America, and we don't want our children to be led by liberal politicians, journalists, and naive Americans to believe Islam is a good thing for our country. Islam is not good for our country. Islam has been violent and dangerous for over 1400 years and it will always be dangerous. Often I have been accused of using harsh statement pertaining to Islam, but my friends if you want politically correct and useless statements you need only go to the mainstream media organizations. The people you refer to, as 'Radical Muslims' are not radical. They are simply carrying out the 'true Islamic ideology as Prophet Mohammed wanted it to be carried out. These people are 'Pure Muslims'. They are Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbolla, and the numerous other Islamic acronyms. The leaders of such organizations as MSA, ISNA, MANA, and CAIR are Muslim Brotherhood organizations that are practicing the true form of Islam. They are not 'Radical', they are 'Pure Muslims'. These organizations want all Muslims to think and behave as they do. They want all Muslims to practice 'Pure Islam'.

During the past few weeks we have received many emails, phone calls and tweets about Common Core Standards in Pennsylvania. I have had multiple conversations with many of you and I wanted to bring more leaders into the fold as we move forward.
Our state director, Jennifer Stefano, is now back after being on business out of state for the past week. We just discussed this issue and based off of the response we are receiving it seems to be the second coming of Obamacare, much like another awakening akin to the one we saw in 2009.

Heritage Foundation weighs in on Common Core

Like many other states, Common Core standards are quickly making their way into the classroom. While proponents of the standards continue to champion their predicted benefits, there is significant cause for concern.First, the standards represent a massive federal overreach. The Obama Administration jumped on board from the get go, promoting national education standards, via policy and federal taxpayer dollars, as part of their education agenda. Billions of federal dollars have gone towards and are continuing to fund, the promotion and implementation of these standards nationwide. The federal government's involvement with the standards should be alarming. Pushing state and local leaders away from classroom curriculum is not only a breach in federalism but gives parents, teachers, and communities less say over what children learn in school. Education experts have also raised alarm over the quality of the standards. Sandra Stotsky, Professor of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas, has particularly expressed concern over the English Language Arts. Common Core's ELA standards reduce emphasis on literature by promoting the study of "informational texts." Stotsky says
, "A diminished emphasis on literature in the secondary grades makes it unlikely that American students will study a meaningful range of culturally and historically significant literary works before graduation. It also prevents students from acquiring a rich understanding and use of the English language. Perhaps of greatest concern, it may lead to a decreased capacity for analytical thinking."

KIPP (Charter Schools) has a CHARACTER REPORT CARD on Page 39. So for now start on page 39 and work your way through to page 45. Remember FERPA laws were changed last year and I am sure not one parent is aware that permission to share information about our children no longer requires parental consent. Obama just slipped all these new changes in and I don't believe any parents were ever asked their opinions about these changes. And where was our Republican Congress when this happened???
AGENDA 21 is: The complete control and inventory of every human activity. After your friends read some of this information ask them if they still believe A21 is not real. Chapter 36 of A21 document is devoted to education.
Our government forgets there are still people alive that can think and see through their garbage.
Print this document and get a highlighter...........then start visiting your neighbors, school boards, elected officials and start screaming. GET COMMON CORE AND THE GOVERNMENT out of our class rooms. I think it is time to start a MASS movement for Home Schooling. I know Home Schooling will not be spared. This should be a movement to bring education back to the local level and DESTROY the Federal Department of Education. If our kids are not in school it will create an uprising at all levels. We should not settle for shutting down Common Core because they will masquerade it....they are already doing this in VA. VA supposedly never signed on to Common Core but GUESS WHAT........they ARE implementing Common Core and disguising it from the citizens in VA....of course they aren't doing a good job of hiding it and people in VA are catching on. Our schools have been in the process of a government take over (in earnest) for more than 20 years. If we don't shut down the Department of Education it will never stop. We have to cause a citizen uprising!!

Documentary: Former POW Living in Remote Vietnam Village

A new documentary suggests that a former U.S. Army veteran is alive and living in a remote village in Vietnam more than four decades after he was shot down and presumed dead.
According to "Unclaimed," a documentary by award-winning Canadian filmmaker Michael Jorgenson, an elderly man found in a village in southern Vietnam may be Sgt. John Hartley Robertson, a former Green Beret shot down in 1968, reports the British newspaper theIndependent. The man was apparently confused and could not speak or understand English or remember the names of his wife and two children when he was found.
Robertson was reportedly working on a secret mission over Laos when his helicopter was shot down. Although his body was never found, he was listed as "killed in action."
Then, Vietnam veteran Tom Faunce was on a humanitarian mission in South East Asia in 2008 when he learned of the existence of a fellow vet who had been shot down 40 years earlier and forgotten about by the U.S. government, according to the Independent.

1.Kim Strassel Again Serves as the Senate GOP's Stenographer
Kim Strassel somewhat diplomatically lashes out at Senator Ted Cruz in the Wall Street Journal. Her subtitle sums up her point, which really isn't worth delving too far into. The subtitle is, "The GOP is split between those who insist on making a point, and those who want to make some progress."
Got that?
So Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Ted Cruz want to make points and the Senate Republican leadership wants to make progress. Nevermind that Cruz and company are the only ones putting points on the board for the GOP and, but for them and despite the spin, the GOP would have gone wobbly on gun control and Obamacare in the Senate.
As I noted yesterday, establishment Republicans complain about Rush Limbaugh and now Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul, then run off to the Wall Street Journal editorial page to seek vengeance.

3.Liberty University Offers Scholarship to Eagle Scout Facing Gun Charge
A North Carolina Eagle Scout who was expelled and arrested for accidentally leaving a shotgun in his pickup truck in the school parking lot has been offered a scholarship to attend Liberty University.
Cole Withrow was just a few weeks from graduating with honors from Princeton High School when he was arrested on Monday and slapped with a felony weapons charge. Withrow had been skeet shooting with friends a day before and had only noticed he had left his shotgun in his truck as he reached to grab his book bag.

Summary: Under the pretense of "religious tolerance," Barack Obama and his Leftist regime have endeavored to remove any expression or manifestation of faith, particularly Christianity, from government forums -- first and foremost, the U.S. military. This week, his civilian "leaders" at DoD ramped up that eradication, promising to bring criminal charges against any military personnel who express or share their faith.
The DoD's Frontal Assault on Faith
Today we observe the National Day of Prayer, but if you're active duty or reserve military, you'd better not mention that to any of your fellow compatriots in uniform, or invite them to join in a prayer vigil, lest you find yourself in front of a military tribunal.
You read that correctly. It is no small irony this week that the Obama administration is suppressing faith rather than celebrating it.
The Left is constantly endeavoring to replaceRule of Law with the rule of men. Because the former is predicated on the principle of Liberty "endowed by our Creator," Obama's administrators constantly look for ways to undermine Rule of Law by driving wedges between our Liberty and its foundational endowment.
The highest profile and most influential sector of government, where Obama and his cadres can exercise the greatest degree of immediate dictatorial power in order to dislocate that endowment, is the Department of Defense.
In 2010, unable to reverse the Defense of Marriage Act (an affirmation of timeless principles upheld by all faiths), Obama called on his party-controlled House and Senate to force the institutionalization of gender-disorientation pathology in the military ranks -- a brazen internal assault on military order.
In a last legislative act on behalf of his most flamboyant constituency, Democrats passed and Obama signed his "do ask -- do tell" legislation -- just days before the resounding Republican 2010 midterm takeover in the House.
At that time, Obama declared, "This law will strengthen our national security" -- this despite the fact that the greatest military breach of national security in history, the release of volumes of classified reports to WikiLeaks info anarchist Julian Assange, had just been allegedly committed by Army PFC Bradley Manning, because he was disgruntled over the breakup with his homosexual partner.
Republicans may now control the House, but that isn't stopping Obama from a far bolder assault on Liberty and our military -- one that requires no legislative approval from Congress: expelling God from the trenches.
Under the pretense of "tolerance" and comporting with the errant assertion of a "Wall of Separation" grossly distorting the First Amendment's succinct provision that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," Obama has decreed the removal of any expression or manifestation of faith within the ranks of the U.S. military.
From Day One of the Obama regime's rise to power, there have been numerous instances of incremental implementation of this assault on faith within the ranks, and the Air Force has been the administration's primary target since it is considered to be the most "faith-saturated" branch of service.

We now know that Russian authorities wire tapped a phone call between Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his mother, in which they discussed "jihad." This phone call was part of the reason the Russians alerted the FBI about Tsarnaev.
Had John Brennan, now our CIA director, listened in on this phone call, he almost certainly would have dismissed any concerns about Tsarnaev.
Why? Because Brennan has stated publicly he believes the notion that "jihad" is connected to terrorism is false. Brennan believes "jihad" is a "holy tenet" of Islam, because he claims it refers only to personal improvement.

We can only speculate what might have happened when the FBI investigated Tamerlan Tsarnaev if our counterterrorism strategy included identifying jihadist ideology as a prime motivator of jihadist attacks.
But since the FBI can't consider jihadist ideology when it does such investigations, it's no wonder it dropped its investigation of Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

(April 29, 2013) -- A lower court ignored the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) breach of federal law requiring peer review when the agency issued a finding that carbon dioxide (CO2) is a pollutant subject to federal regulation, a brief filed on April 22 by the American Civil Rights Union states.
Written by ACRU General Counsel Peter Ferrara in Pacific Legal Foundation v. Environmental Protection Agency, the brief asks the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case. The brief notes that peer-review is essential to determine scientific merit, and that the EPA imposed regulations without bothering to abide by the law's standard of review.

Details are emerging that when U.S. Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler read Dzhokhar Tsarnaev his Miranda rights, she went to his hospital room accompanied by a federal public defender (meaning taxpayer-funded) and an assistant U.S. attorney from the Massachusetts prosecutor's office.

Making official what many Democrats have expected for weeks, President Obama plans to nominate Chicago business executive Penny Pritzker, a longtime political supporter and heavyweight fundraiser, as his new Commerce secretary on Thursday morning.
Pritzker's nomination could prove controversial. She is on the board of Hyatt Hotels Corp., which was founded by her family and has had rocky relations with labor unions, and she could face questions about the failure of a bank partly owned by her family.
With a personal fortune estimated at $1.85 billion, Pritzker is listed by Forbes magazine among the 300 wealthiest Americans. She is the founder, chair and CEO of PSP Capital Partners, a private equity firm, and its affiliated real estate investment firm, Pritzker Realty Group. She played an influential role in Obama's rise from Illinois state senator to the nation's 44th president, serving as Obama's national finance chair in his first campaign for the White House and co-chair of his reelection campaign.
As the Tribune notes, "Pritzker has been one of Obama's most valuable fundraisers, raising more than $500,000 for his reelection. This year, she donated $250,000 to his inaugural committee." And then: "A longtime friend, Pritzker was national finance chairwoman for the Obama campaign throughout his 2008 presidential effort. She helped him raise a record $750 million from a dizzying array of donors. "
What Was In the Water of That School?
These Kazakh college friends aren't quite as bad as the Boston bombers. But they're bad:
Kadyrbayev, 19, texted Tsarnaev that evening around 8:40 to ask [why he resembled the bombers in the released FBI videos].
"Tsarnaev's return texts contained 'lol' and other things KADYRBAYEV interpreted as jokes," according to a federal criminal complaint released today, "such as 'you better not text me' and 'come to my room and take whatever you want.'" That turned out to be a fateful series of texts.
According to the complaint, earlier that day, Kadyrbayev and their mutual friend Azamat Tazhayakov entered Tsarnaev's dorm room at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth the following day, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. They watched an unspecified movie with Tsarnaev's roommate while Tazhayakov noticed that Dzhokhar's backpack contained "fireworks." Allegedly, Kadyrbayev put two and two together when he saw the empty fireworks containers - it's unclear if that happened before he texted Tsarnaev - and figured their friend was the bomber. News reports on the room TV showing the fateful footage of Tsarnaev, followed by his texts, confirmed it.
Then they decided to help their bro.
According to the complaint, Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov gathered up the backpack, Tsarnaev's laptop - apparently to avoid making the roommate think they were stealing Tsarnaev's stuff - and placed it into a trash bag. During that crucial evening, Tsarnaev allegedly texted his friends, "I'm about to leave if you need something in my room take it." The next morning, Kadyrbayev allegedly placed the bag into a dumpster near Tsarnaev's Carriage Place apartment.
How twisted do you have to be to suddenly realize that someone you know, a friend, is actually a terrorist who killed three people and injured and maimed hundreds more, and your first thought is how to help him get away with it?
What, does UMass-Dartmouth have some sort of special jihadist student-exchange program? Do they cluster them together in one dorm?
A federal law enforcement official says one of the students from Kazakhstan arrested Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombings was allowed to return to the United States this year despite not having a valid student visa. Authorities say that after the explosions he helped remove a laptop and backpack from the bombing suspect's dormitory room before the FBI searched it.
Federal authorities on Wednesday arrested three college friends of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a bombing suspect, including Azamat Tazhayakov, a friend and classmate of Tsarnaev's at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Tazhayakov left the U.S. in December and returned Jan. 20. But in early January, his student-visa status was terminated because he was academically dismissed from the university, the official told the AP.
Hey, if he's academically dismissed, just what is he doing in this country, if he's no longer going to school? How's he paying his expenses?
Very few people believe the promises of the Gang of Eight, because the government does such a lousy job of enforcing the laws on the books already.
"My wife Dorothy and I have lived in Virginia for over 20 years and here we've raised five children of our own," the ad says while showing b-roll footage of McAuliffe at the birth of one of his children. "I know nothing is more important to Virginians than creating good jobs that will support a family," the ad continued showing more home video of McAuliffe and his family.
McAuliffe also wrote about the birth of his children in his book 2007 book What A Party, noting on one instance he left wife at the hospital to attend a party for Washington Post reporter Lloyd Grove before the birth of his daughter Sarah.
"We got there a little after noon and spent the whole afternoon in her room. I was trying hard not to appear restless, but I am not one to sit still for long and soon I was going stir-crazy, which drove Dorothy nuts. 'Isn't there something you need to do?' she finally said. I told her The Washington Post was having a party that evening for Lloyd Grove, who wrote the 'Reliable Source' column. 'Go!' she said. 'You're like a caged animal here. I'll call you if I need you.' I went flying out the door and drove to the party. I kept calling Dorothy to make sure she was fine. I made the rounds at the party and ran into Marjorie Williams, who was writing a story on me for Vanity Fair, magazine. She was shocked to see me at the party. 'Isn't Dorothy having a baby today?' she asked. 'That's right,' I said, 'but she threw me out the room.' Marjorie just couldn't understand how I left Dorothy alone. I almost told her about the night I was born and how my mother wanted my father to stay at home to watch Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, but decided against it. I went back to the hospital after the Washington Post party and at 3:33 A.M. little Sarah Swann McAuliffe was born."
In another section of his book, McAuliffe writes about stopping to go to a fundraiser on the way home from the hospital with his wife, an aide who was driving his car, and a newborn baby Peter. McAuliffe noted the fundraiser, a "Sons of Italy" dinner hosted by United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters President Marty Maddaloni, raised "a million bucks for the Democratic Party."
Dorothy was starting to well up in the backseat. She was having trouble understanding how I could be taking my wife and newborn baby to a fund-raiser on our way home from the hospital. We got to the dinner and by then Dorothy was in tears, and I left her with Justin and went inside. Little Peter was sleeping peacefully and Dorothy just sat there and poor Justin didn't say a word. He was mortified. I was inside maybe fifteen minutes, said a few nice things about Marty, and hurried back out to the car. I felt bad for Dorothy, but it was a million bucks for the Democratic Party and by the time we got home and the kids had their new little brother in their arms, Dorothy was all smiles and we were one big happy family again. Nobody ever said life with me was easy.
A spokesman for McAuliffe declined to comment on record.
John Podhoretz is left repulsed: "Yeah, I remember the time I left my wife and newborn in the car home from hospital so I could raise money . . . So is there time to do a New Jersey switcheroo in Virginia now that McAuliffe isn't going to get a single married female vote?"
J.P. Freire: "Breaking: Terry McCauliffe left his political aspirations crying in the backseat of a car while he ran off to write poorly conceived memoir. Also, are Washington Post parties any good? I mean, leave-your-wife-in-the-delivery-room good? @JRubinBlogger?@ezraklein? Anyone?"
My opinion on McAuliffe is pretty clear, but let me offer one molecule of quasi-sympathy or a mumbled word in his defense: He does sound pretty guilty about it in this anecdote, and this is the sort of low point in one's life that it would be easy for McAuliffe to leave out of his autobiography. In other words, the only reason we know about these moments where he comes across as a fundraising-obsessed lunatic is because he chose to tell us.
Then again . . . maybe that self-portrait is a good reason to prefer another candidate. I mean, this is a moment where political fundraising should be pretty far from the mind of any normal man. Trust me on this, everything else in the world seems very far away at that time.

The Obama administration will take no note of someone's beliefs -- unless they are right-wingers, Second Amendment defenders, or pro-life advocates. You cannot combat an ideologically driven threat absent an understanding of the ideology and acknowledgment of its catalyzing effects.
Cyber-attacks upon American computer networks, and the theft of massive amounts of information by means of cyber-espionage - both against private industry and against the U.S. government itself - are very much in the news of late, and the People's Republic of China is increasingly being fingered as the culprit.
Just when you think pop culture can't descend any lower, an ad for Mountain Dew portrays racial stereotypes and makes light of violence toward women. I'm guessing Don Draper would not have approved the ad, even after the heaviest of all-nighter Seagram V.O. benders with Roger Sterling.
Now that I've worked through some weighty issues, I'm more comfortable with my decision to purchase a gun and provide for my own self-defense at home. If you're a gun owner or if you are contemplating becoming one for the first time, I urge you to spend some time contemplating the ramifications of that decision beyond just barrel length and caliber.

The EIA has released a report proving America is now the most energy efficient country in known history. The ratio of energy used to the cost of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dollar is at a low point never reached before.
Ben Boychuk of City Journal California (and the fine InfiniteMonkeys blog) has been after me for a while to write for its pages now that I've been foolish enough to move back to the less-than-golden state, but I've been too busy to oblige. But when he pointed me to the latest nonsense from the climate capos about how California's wine industry was imperiled, I had to swing into action. The result is this piece just out this afternoon. It's short and suitable for everyone's palate.
I had to restraint the sarcasm, as the underlying study has some truly snort-worthy claims-the best one being about how there may be water shortages in vineyards that want to spray their grapes to "cool" them down in the hot summer. Now, the great thing about this topic is that it forced me-absolutely against my will, of course-to do some field research the last couple of weeks by visiting some local wineries and showing this study to a few viticulturalists I know. They thought it was satire. Spray your grapes? Not unless you want powdery mildew to ruin your crop.
Anyway, read the whole thing, as they say. Meanwhile, I'm finally getting my wine cellar slightly better organized, as you can see in this photo. Need to pick out something to go with grilled rib eyes tonight, though.
I spent last evening at a splendid dinner of the Friends of Ronald Reagan at the California Club in downtown Los Angeles, where our special guest was Senator John Thune. It was off the record, so no, I won't tell you what he said, except that when I mentioned I was from Power Line, he recalled running into Scott at the airport recently and was wondering if we were starting to stalk him.
Anyway, as M/C of the evening's festivities, I had some fun suggesting that since we were just around the corner from the Los Angeles Times, we ought to go out on the balcony and yell, "The Koch brothers are here!," and watch LA Times staff jump from the upper floor windows.
But from the the looks of the Times this morning, I wonder whether the Kochs haven't already secretly closed the deal and started replacing staff. The lead story on the front page today is about the "surprise" that Obamacare isn't going to work out so well for part-time workers: "Part-Timers to Lose Pay Under Health Act's New Math." Of course, this is only a surprise to clueless liberal journalists, most of whom were trained in the original "new math" of the 1960s and 1970s, which is why they swallowed Obama's claims that everyone would be able to keep his or her insurance, which would get cheaper, because Obama wasn't adding to the deficit and wasn't raising taxes, until it became necessary at the Supreme Court to say that actually, yes, he was raising taxes, and . . . Anyway, here's a bit from the story:
Many part-timers are facing a double whammy from President Obama's Affordable Care Act. The law requires large employers offering health insurance to include part-time employees working 30 hours a week or more. But rather than provide healthcare to more workers, a growing number of employers are cutting back employee hours instead.
Well, what do you expect from those greedy profit-grubbing private sector entrepreneurs anyway. Oh, wait, the first example the Times gives is from . . . local government:
Consider the city of Long Beach. It is limiting most of its 1,600 part-time employees to fewer than 27 hours a week, on average. City officials say that without cutting payroll hours, new health benefits would cost up to $2 million more next year, and that extra expense would trigger layoffs and cutbacks in city services.
Part-timer Tara Sievers, 43, understands why, but she still thinks it's wrong.
"I understand there are costs to healthcare reform, but it is surely not the intent of the law for employees to lose hours," said the outreach coordinator at the El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach. "It's ridiculous the city is skirting the law."
Apparently Miss Sievers has never heard of the law of unintended consequences, which is the most frequently enacted statute in the nation. And the city is not "skirting" the law at all; they merely read the law and understood it. Welcome to the real world of liberal legislation, Miss Sievers.
Meanwhile, I drove right by this fire in the photo below (this very spot in fact) shortly after it broke out about 6:45 am this morning, and thought that it looked like it would be serious. The media are reporting they think it will burn through to the coast.
In his press conference the other day, President Obama spoke disapprovingly of the government intruding between a woman and her doctor. This was trademark Obama hypocrisy, since under Obamacare, the government will be involved in virtually every health care decision, with the possible exception of abortion. If that counts as health care. Fortunately (for us, not them) the British system serves as a warning about the realities of government medicine.
Here is the latest: a National Health Service rationing panel refused to pay for surgery that was needed by Rebecca Beattie, 25, to repair her face after it was smashed by an abusive ex-husband. Her breathing is impaired, and her need for the surgery seemed indisputable. Yet the rationing panel turned her down four times. At the same time, the panel approved breast augmentation surgery for a would-be stripper named Josie Cunningham. The Sun expressed outrage in its inimitable style:
A BATTERED mum last night told of her outrage after the NHS refused to rebuild her shattered nose - as wannabe model Josie Cunningham flaunted her taxpayer-funded boobs.
Rebecca Beattie, 25, whose nose was crushed by her brutal ex, was told her £5,500 op was "not essential" and she must pay for it herself. But Josie, 22, got a £4,800 breast enhancement at public expense after tearfully telling her GP how having small boobs damaged her confidence.

The story may seem bizarre, but this is what happens when every medical decision is a political decision. Why did Josie's augmentation surgery get approved? Who knows? Maybe she has political influence; maybe she knows someone on the rationing panel; maybe she paid a bribe; maybe someone on the rationing panel just likes strippers with big chests.
Following our story Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt looked into the case yesterday and was told a rethink was under way at GP-led Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group.
Mr Hunt said: "I'm pleased GPs have decided to reconsider Rebecca's case."
Rebecca, 25, who struggles to breathe through her nose after the attack, said at home in York: "I'm overwhelmed. I feel like a battle has been won. It's all thanks to The Sun."
Why stop here? Maybe the British could have a reality TV show where patients would plead their cases and viewers would vote on who should get surgery.
This is, obviously, no way to run a health care system. But government medicine is, inherently, politicized medicine, and this is the path on which Barack Obama has set us.
Yesterday the FBI posted images of three suspects captured by surveillance cameras on the grounds of the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi, Libya, when it was attacked on September 11, 2012 - the attack that resulted in the deaths of Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Why has it taken the FBI eight months to get around to releasing the images if they need the help? That's one point the FBI leaves unanswered. The heat provided by Fox News may be just coincidental.
The FBI advises: "We are seeking information about three individuals who were on the grounds of the U.S. Special Mission when it was attacked. These individuals may be able to provide information to help in the investigation." I think that's probably something of an understatement.
You may recall the position of the Obama administration in the immediate aftermath of the attack. These were all just protesters worked up over the Muhammad video, and the attack was a protest that had spun out of control. According to Susan Rice, speaking on behalf of the administration on the Sunday news shows on September 16, 2012, there was no solid evidence the attack was "premeditated or pre-planned."
President Obama told fellow leftists yesterday to put aside concerns over the Gang of Eight's immigration bill. He assured them that once Congress locks an overarching plan into place, his administration will be able to revisit the specifics and figure out how to address them.
It's natural that both Obama and Marco Rubio are holding out the prospect of "fixes" to the immigration bill; they need to assuage nervous constituent groups. The difference is that only Obama is in a position to deliver.
Moreover, even if Obama were not the president, natural forces would favor his "fixes." Those forces are bureaucratic incompetence and unwillingness scrupulously to enforce the immigration laws to the extent they disfavor illegal aliens.
Obama wasn't the president in the years following passage of the 1986 amnesty - Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush were. We all know how that amnesty worked out.

Court-Martialed For Christ?
This may make you physically sick. Radical secularists are waging a cultural jihad against the U.S. military with the cooperation of the Obama Administration. The same military that is being browbeaten every day to be more friendly to Islam is now under pressure from Obama appointees at the Pentagon to restrict the free exercise of religion by its Christian chaplains.
Here's one example: After the 2009 Fort Hood shooting by jihadist Major Nidal Hasan, Gen. George Casey said, "Our diversity... is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse." Casey was more worried about politically correct diversity than he was about U.S. troops being shot by a jihadist wearing a U.S. military uniform.
Remember the recent controversy over a draft Army handbook for our troops in Afghanistan? It blamed jihadi violence not on Islamic culture but on our cultural ignorance and advised our soldiers not to offend Islamist sensibilities by "advocating women's rights" or with "any criticism of pedophilia."
Here's another example: After the Boston Marathon bombing, a West Point instructor told his class that he would "bet his life on the Muslims having been behind it like they always are. It's always the Muslims and everyone knows it, and everybody is afraid to say it. Well, I am not."
A complaint was filed with the left-wing Military Religious Freedom Foundation led by Mikey Weinstein.
Weinstein has been filing nuisance lawsuits for years. In normal times, he would be a pimple on the Pentagon, a minor irritation to be periodically lanced. But under this administration, Weinstein and other leftists were brought into the Pentagon for negotiations last month.
Who is the Pentagon turning to for policy making advice? Weinstein wrote a column for The Huffington Post the day after the Boston Marathon bombings. His column was about "bloody monsters," "monsters of human degradation, marginalization, humiliation and tyranny." He warned about "their rapacious reign of theocratic terror."
If you thought Weinstein was writing about Islamic jihadists you would be wrong. He was referring to "fundamentalist Christian monsters" inside the U.S. military and outside it, groups like ours representing the values of good folks like you!
Weinstein also told the Washington Post that "systematic misogyny, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in the military" were "national security threat[s]." To that list, Larry Wilkerson, another of Weinstein's associates at last month's Pentagon meeting, included Christian proselytizing. Weinstein added, "the Pentagon needs to understand ... it is sedition and treason. It should be punished."
Weinstein and Wilkerson are not shy about what they were demanding. "You need half a dozen court-martials real quick," Wilkerson told the Post. Court-martials for sharing one's faith? Sadly, some officers at the Pentagon seem inclined to agree.
I hope in 2016 we will get a president whose values are more consistent with those of the overwhelming majority of the American people. But even if we do, it will take years to clean out the rot that this administration is imbedding throughout the bureaucracy, including in the armed services that protect us.
"On My Honor"
As you know, the Boy Scouts of America has been a top target of the militant homosexual rights movement for many years. The constant campaign of harassment and intimidation has led to the loss of corporate donations and even legislation seeking to punish the Scouts. As a result, the BSA is in the process of caving in to the radical left's demands.

Pray For America
Today is the 62nd annual National Day of Prayer. This year's theme is "Pray For America." It is a good time to remind ourselves of one of our nation's founding principles -- that our liberty comes from God, not government. If anyone is confused by that, check out the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence.

There are events all across the country today and on Capitol Hill, but nothing at the White House marking the event. George W. Bush hosted National Day of Prayer events at the White House every year of his administration. President Obama canceled that tradition. This morning he left for Mexico.
"Bottoms Up, Lame Duck"
Washington is still buzzing about Barack Obama's bizarre press conference Monday. When asked if he "still [had] the juice" to get his agenda through Congress, Obama offered a meandering response that confused many pundits and commentators.
"In Charge, But Not In Control," is how one Time blogger described Obama's response. One of the best reactions came from liberal New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, who wrote "Bottoms Up, Lame Duck."
Dowd blasted Obama for his lack of leadership, writing, "He still thinks he'll do his thing from the balcony and everyone else will follow along below."
Dowd is on to something. When Harry Reid once complimented Obama on one of his speeches, Obama replied, "I have a gift, Harry." Obama is really good at campaigning and speech-making, but the former community organizer is not so good at governing.
From day one he has expressed his frustration with the limits of our system of checks and balances. During an interview with Matt Lauer last year, Obama whined, "Our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes."
At his press conference this week, we heard that theme again. Obama complained about the filibuster, and said that it wasn't his job to make Congress "behave," or do what he wants. He just doesn't seem to get that this isn't Venezuela. Somehow Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton managed to work with Tip O'Neill and Newt Gingrich.
The GOP should not just rollover and play the role of Obama's lapdog. When it comes to fundamental principles, it is the job of the opposition party to make sure he doesn't have any "juice" left in his effort to rip America away from its moorings of free speech, freedom of religion and free markets.
MIKE BOST ERUPTS OVER CHANGE IN CONCEALED CARRY BILL
Congress rammed Obamacare through without many Members even reading the bill. Now it's applying that same frantic, complex, pie-in-the-sky legislating to immigration. The similarities are frightening.
1. Extreme Costs
The Government Accountability Office now projects that under the most realistic scenario, Obamacare will add $6.2 trillion to the primary deficit over the next 75 years. That's a staggering figure, especially considering the fact that President Obama pledged in 2009, "I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits-either now or in the future."
The Gang of Eight's immigration plan granting amnesty to those unlawfully in the U.S. will cost already burdened American taxpayers more than they can bear. When he last crunched the numbers during the 2007 amnesty debate, Heritage's Robert Rector calculated that a general amnesty would cost some $2.5 trillion-after considering what legalized immigrants would likely pay in taxes and receive in government benefits and services. His updated research on the latest proposal, due out soon, is likely to find a higher price tag in 2013.
2. False Promises
Remember President Obama's promise that "If you like your health care plan, you can keep it"? That's just one of the most famous (or infamous) broken promises of Obamacare. The Congressional Budget Office projects 7 million people will lose their employer-sponsored coverage by 2022 because of the law.
On immigration, Heritage President Jim DeMint told CNBC's Larry Kudlow this week: "I've heard a lot of promises about bills that have gone through Congress. ...The only thing that I know about this bill is that it's going to give legal status and eventual citizenship to those who came here unlawfully. The rest are just promises." One of those promises is border security-as Heritage's James Jay Carafano explains, the bill would not actually secure the border.
Nancy Pelosi wasn't kidding when she said Congress would have to pass Obamacare "to see what's in it." That's because the bill gave federal agencies free rein to write regulations that would become the real-world version of the law-and even though it passed in 2010, the regulations are still being written today.
The immigration bill does the same thing-it gives over congressional authority to federal agencies, allowing unelected bureaucrats to think up all the details later.
4. Piles on Already Broken-and Broke-Entitlement Programs
Obamacare plans to add millions of people to the Medicaid rolls-the largest expansion ever to this problematic program, which is already unsustainable and needs vital reforms.
Likewise, the immigration bill would add millions to the number of people on various taxpayer-funded benefits, from Medicare and Social Security to welfare. As DeMint said, "These programs are already broke. Our country is already $17 trillion in debt. This will be a net loss, a huge cost to taxpayers."
5. Perks for Special Interests
Whenever the legislative process turns fast and furious, Members of Congress start loading on special-interest deals that are less likely to be noticed in the chaos. Obamacare was full of favors for Big Labor. Now, the immigration bill is carrying all sorts of special-interest goodies-not to mention a bonanza for immigration lawyers.
This isn't the way Congress should make laws. It's only making the same mistakes all over again-and we'll be paying for them.
Senator Cruz is Under Attack By Washington Liberals
The political and media elites are attacking Ted Cruz. As a real, principled conservative who will not succumb to the corrupting pressures so common in Washington, Senator Cruz is a threat to the big-government elites. Conservatives should tell their senators that they should stand firm together with Sen. Cruz.
Because Cruz has no interest in playing by corrupt Washington rules, even some of his so-called friends have resorted to ad hominem attacks. Using descriptors that would be better directed at themselves, they've called him a jerk, a liar, immature, ignorant, narcissistic and whiny.
Remember this: darkness doesn't like the light, and Ted Cruz has come to Washington to spread light on the issues. Many lawmakers like to operate in the shadows, behind closed doors, crafting policies that will serve the interests of a few. Cruz threatens the status quo because he is articulate, principled, and fearless. And that's never a good combination for Washington politicians who, in their bitter envy, futile attacks, and gratuitous detraction, have made it a full-time job to tear down one of their most fearless colleagues.

Medicaid's Looming Long-Term Care Crisis

As we work to rein in wasteful spending and improve retirement security, our nation cannot afford to overlook Medicaid's long-term care financing crisis.
We're completely unprepared for the coming "age wave." More than 15 million Americans will be 85 years or older in 2040. While seven in 10 seniors will need some type of long-term care (LTC) during their lives, only one in 10 has private LTC insurance coverage. Almost 14 million seniors could suffer from Alzheimer's in 2040, and the annual rate for a private nursing home room continues climbing, reaching $81,030 in 2012.
Research shows many Americans mistakenly believe they have LTC coverage through Medicare when they do not. The misinformation puts their retirement plans at risk. Without change, millions of middle-class baby boomers will turn to a welfare program, Medicaid, to finance these needs.
The authors of Obamacare pretended to solve Medicaid's LTC financing problems by creating the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) program, a national entitlement, promising a daily cash benefit to disabled Americans. The program failed because liberals promised the impossible: a self-funded, fiscally sound program that prohibits underwriting without forcing healthy Americans to participate. As it fell apart, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) criticized CLASS because "it's voluntary."
Less supportive Democrat Senators called it a "Ponzi scheme." And the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) warned it would "inevitably add to future deficits (on a cash basis) by more than it reduces deficits in the near term, even though the premiums would be set to ensure solvency of the program."

Thankful for Religious Freedom on the National Day of Prayer
Although the National Day of Prayer was not established by congressional legislation until 1952 under President Harry Truman, days of prayer have beenregularly called for since the 1775 Continental Congress. Religious belief and practice form the foundation of a healthy civil society and should be safeguarded in law and culture.
When that belief translates to action-as it often does-the benefits can be significant for civil society.
Individuals who regularly attend worship services and report a high level of religious commitment are more likely to volunteer and give to charity. Churches and houses of worship play a vital role in society, preventing dependence on the government, as well as strengthening the family and community.
Marital and family relationships are also greatly improved by religious practice. Couples who regularly attend worship services tend to have happier and more stable marriages. They invest more in their relationships and are less likely to divorce than non-religious couples. Mothers who are religious when their children are young tend to have better relationships with their children, and religious fathers are more likely to be proactively involved in their children's lives - a key factor in a child's academic, emotional, and social success.
Despite the positive effects of religious belief, recent government mandates and actions are increasingly antagonistic toward the role of faith in the public square. The Obama Administration's anti-conscience mandate continues to threaten the religious liberty of many individuals, family business owners, and religious social service providers to act and work in accordance with their deeply held beliefs.
Policymakers and national leaders should recognize the profoundly important role of religious belief and practice for sustaining families, increasing well-being, and promoting a robust civil society. Protecting the freedom of individuals and organizations to live out their faith in public ways-not trampling religious liberty through coercive government dictates-can ensure that more people enjoy the benefits of religious practice. Today we should celebrate that freedom as the nation joins together in prayer.

Heritage established the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society in 2004 to educate government officials, the media and the public about the role religion, family, and civil society play in sustaining freedom and the common good.
The mastermind behind the ballot-petition fraud was one Butch Morgan, then the Democratic-party chairman of St. Joseph County. With the help of three other employees of the county board of elections, Morgan faked names and signatures on ballot petitions that qualified Obama and Clinton for the May 6 Democratic primary.
Under Indiana state law, in order to enter the presidential-primary contest, a candidate must have the signatures of 500 registered voters from each of the state's nine congressional districts. Obama's petition for the Second Congressional District, which includes St. Joseph County, had 534 signatures. Each petition page had ten voter signatures, and, according to evidence produced by the prosecutors, all the signatures on nine of Obama's petition pages were forged.
Without those 90 fraudulent signatures, Obama would have fallen short of the 500-signature threshold. Had those signatures been challenged when they were submitted, he would not have been on the ballot for the primary.
Thirteen petition pages for Clinton were filled with fake signatures; because she submitted 704 signatures, she had enough legitimate signatures to meet the threshold anyway.
The court ruling certainly raises a fascinating "what if" scenario: Would history have been changed if this ballot-petition fraud had been discovered when it occurred? There were 72 delegates at stake in Indiana. Before the May 6 primary, the AP reported that Obama was barely ahead of Clinton, with 1,490 pledged delegates vs. 1,338. Clinton had a slight edge in superdelegate endorsements, 275.5 to Obama's 258, according toBloomberg News.
Clinton barely beat Obama in the Indiana primary, garnering 51 percent of the vote. The delegates were split almost evenly, with Clinton receiving 38 and Obama receiving 34. Had Obama been disqualified from the ballot and Clinton had received all 72 delegates, it would have put her within striking distance of the nomination. How would candidate Obama's grassroots and financial support have been affected if he had been disqualified from the ballot and his campaign enveloped in a fraud scandal caused by local Democratic-party operatives?
Political momentum is a very delicate thing. It's certainly possible that such a setback for Obama could have changed the outcome of the 2008 Democratic nomination contest. But of course, we will never know.
All we do know for sure is that Indiana experienced election fraud committed by party activists that may have affected the 2008 election. But of course, according to some, there is no election fraud in the United States.
Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum: The Foreign Policy Case
Last week, the Supreme Court issued a historic decision that will help prevent activist judges from interfering in foreign policy-the constitutional prerogative of the executive and legislative branches. The case involved the Alien Tort Statute, which was passed by the First Congress in 1789. It provides federal courts with jurisdiction over "any civil action by an alien for a tort only, committed in violation of the law of nations or a treaty of the United States."

Congress and the White House have been focused for much of this year on the federal budget-rightfully so, given perennial deficits and unsustainable levels of U.S. debt. However, federal spending accounts for only a portion of the burden placed on Americans by the government.
Regulations impose huge additional costs, hindering job creation and innovation while undermining Americans' fundamental freedoms.
Those costs have been on the rise, as documented in a new Heritage Foundation report released today. Red Tape Rising: Regulation in Obama's First Term reveals that annual regulatory costs increased by more than $23.5 billion during President Obama's fourth year in office.
This brings Obama's first-term total to nearly $70 billion, a staggering level that is likely unmatched by any Administration in the nation's history. And despite a much-touted initiative to weed out unnecessary regulations, only two major rule changes reduced regulatory burdens in 2012.
And, the report points out, there are many more rules to come.

The priest had said that the Catholic Church "is going to have to change, but not because the society has changed, but because science and human knowledge have evolved."
As the liberal commentator Roger L. Simon has written, "The trial of Dr. Gosnell is a potential time bomb exploding in the conventional liberal narrative on abortion itself."
Immigration Expert: The System Failed in Boston and Keeps on Failing
Michael Cutler, former special agent for INS, joined Megyn Kelly this afternoon to discuss what he believes is a failing system regarding immigrants and the student visa program. He believes the case of Azamat Tazhayakov, arrested for allegedly helping Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev by disposing of possible evidence, illustrates this point.
Questions are being raised about the immigration status of Tazhayakov, whose student visa had reportedly been revoked on January 3 because he wasn't going to class at UMass-Dartmouth, where Tsarnaev was also a student. He returned to Kazakhstan at some point after, and when he came back to the United States on January 20, he was still allowed to re-enter.
Cutler said there is a database that is supposed to be updated so that in this case, officials at the airport could have seen that Tazhayakov's visa had been revoked.
"The system failed. The system keeps on failing," said Cutler, pointing out that so much of the immigration debate is focused on the Mexican border and people have no idea how many other aspects of the program are not working.
"We have a bunch of holes in the bottom of our boat. They're not plugging any of them and this one involves national security because we know that terrorists in the past have gamed the visa process."

As might be expected, our discussion focused on the latest developments concerning the terror bombing in Boston. Megyn provided me with ample opportunities to connect the dots to show how the immigration system consists of far more than the Mexican border which, as I noted on air, continues to leak like a sieve.
It was wonderful to be have been afforded the opportunity to provide my perspectives and concerns about the utter lack of integrity to the immigration system that has been failing for many years going back at least to the terrorist attacks of 1993, both at the CIA and the World Trade Center bombing and certainly made the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 possible.
The lack of integrity to the process by which visas are issued to aliens and the way that the immigration laws are not being enforced from within the interior of the United States all contributed, once again to a terrorist attack, this time the target was the Boston Marathon and people died while others were so savagely injured that their lives and the lives of those close to them have been irrevocably altered.
As I noted during my interview, the immigration laws that the administration refuses to enforce were enacted to achieve two primary goals- protect American lives and the jobs of American workers.
I ended my conversation with Megyn by repeating a phrase I often heard from my parents as I was growing up. "Safety first!"
Long before Schumer and his 7 Gangster friend foist "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" on America and Americans, the national security and public safety implications of this ill-conceived legislation must be considered first!

Our nation is greatly benefited by the rich diversity of our people which is why I could never imagine living anywhere except New York City, arguably the most diverse city in our nation if not, in fact, the world. However, my idea of diversity most certainly does not include members of MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels or members of other transnational gangs or members of al-Qaeda or other terrorist organizations!
It is also vital that American workers never be made to compete with foreign workers for their jobs! (This requirement is a component of the Immigration Laws that are not being enforced today!)
If our government's failures to secure our nation's borders and effectively enforce our immigration laws that are intended to protect our nation and our citizens concerns you or especially if it angers you, I ask you to call your Senators and Congressional "Representative. This is not only your right- it is your obligation!
I also ask that you pass this e-mail along to your friends and neighbors- I am attempting to create a "Bucket Brigade of Truth!"
We the Peoplemust make it clear to our politicians that we are not as dumb as they hope we are!
We live in a perilous world and in a perilous era. The survival of our nation and the lives of our citizens hang in the balance.

OK....when they look at you like you have a tin foil hat on your head......take some of this information with you. It is 126 pages. I have not read through the entire document (YET) but what I have read is enough to blow off the top of your head. I have highlighted some stuff. KIPP (Charter Schools) has a CHARACTER REPORT CARD on Page 39. So for now start on page 39 and work your way through to page 45. Remember
