WND EXCLUSIVE
Hillary Clinton snagged in Benghazi cover-up
New reports prompt questions about perplexing security decisions after attack
byAaron Klein
JERUSALEM - As media reports present evidence the U.S. has played a central role in arming Syrian rebels, new questions now emerge about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's involvement in the controversial scheme.
The questions prompt a second look at the perplexing security decisions made by Clinton and other top Obama administration officials the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks on American facilities in Benghazi.
One of those key decisions reportedly delayed an investigative FBI team from arriving at the Benghazi site for 24 days. The site was widely reported to have contained classified documents.
WND raised the question Thursday of whether Clinton was telling the truth when she claimed in a Senate hearing that she had no information about whether the U.S. mission in Libya was procuring or transferring weapons to Turkey and other Arab countries.
Her claim appears to contradict a New York Times report that the CIA has been aiding Arab governments and Turkey in obtaining and shipping weapons to the Syrian rebels.
The goal of the alleged weapons shipments was to arm the rebels fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
Any training or arming of the Syrian rebels would be considered highly controversial. A major issue is the inclusion of jihadists, including al-Qaida, among the ranks of the Free Syrian Army and other Syrian opposition groups
Bucks County Commissioners Meeting Bucks County Courthouse Community Room, 55 E State St, Doylestown
Commissioner Marseglia sought to identify and exclude any County retirement funds from investing in firearm manufacturing or firearm sales unless they sign on to a set of gun control principles. This is outrageous and stinks of a total firearms ban and a an attack of free enterprise. Stores like Cabelas and Dick's Sporting Goods fall into that category. Challenge her at this Commissioner meeting and ask her if this means that she advocates a total gun ban for hunters and sportsmen as well as protection. Ask her how this would "control unsafe gun use" in her words. Remind her that her duty concerning the county pension funds is to maximize returns. Read news story here

Dear Members and Friends,
We trust all of you had a happy Passover and Easter weekend!
During this Holy Season, we have much to consider.
At the forefront of our minds is a plea from our good friend Joe Eastman regarding a WW II Vet named Ray White. In Joe's own words:
...Ray White is an 88 year old World War II Army Air Corps combat veteran and South Philly resident who was swindled out of his home and possessions a few weeks ago.
He is now in a rehabilitation facility recovering from a broken hip and is looking forward to getting out. Because he has no housing at this time, we have been working with the VA and several Center City real estate agents to find him affordable housing.
In a conversation I had with a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter, I learned that the total dollar value of what Ray lost, including his home and possessions, is $383,000.
We have reached out to City Councilman Mark Squilla regarding whether Ray could reclaim his home. The Councilman's staff has researched this and found a way that will allow Ray to appeal and quite possibly get back his home.
We have also reached out to Senator Pat Toomey's office to see if there were additional federal benefits and resources that Ray might be eligible to receive. The Senator's staff found several and are standing by to work with Ray to apply for them.
In addition, I will be hosting a fundraiser for Ray in Center City Philadelphia on Monday, April 1 (details below).
For those who can't make the event, please write a check payable to Ray White and mail it to:
Ray White
C/O Joe Eastman
2514 S. 10th Street
Philadelphia PA 19148
Ray sends his best to all. He thanks those who are reaching out to him.
Upcoming Events
In addition to the Ray White fundraiser, there are a host of other important conservative events taking place in our area during the next few weeks, including an event with Tim Tebow (pictured below) on Tax Day, April 15.
Another important event will feature an appearance by Governor Sarah Palin (pictured with son Trig, above) this Friday on behalf of the Life and Hope Network which is dedicated to the memory of Terri Schindler Schiavo.
1. Fund Raiser for Ray White hosted by Joe Eastman

Where: 2013 Tazia's Restaurant & Bar, 101 N. 11th Street, Philadelphia

2. How "Social Justice" Came to America with Professor Burke, D. Phil., D.Th.
When: Tuesday, April 2, 2010, 7 PM
Where: Irvine Auditorium, Room G-7, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
Backgrounder: Until 1932, the doctrine of Liberty of Contract prevailed in the U.S. legal system, but the incoming Roosevelt administration introduced many programs of "social justice" which brought it to an end.
In his recently published book, The Concept of Justice, Professor Burke describes the origins of this new idea and its subsequent development into our current system. The lecture will explain the events by which this took place.
(A very timely topic in light of the recent election of Pope Francis--a supposed advocate of "Social Justice" theology.)
Sponsored by the Wynnewood Institute.
3. National Memorial Mass & Gala in Remembrance of Terri Schindler Schiavo
When: Friday, April 5, Mass with Archbishop Chaput: 5 PM; Gala with Sarah Palin: 6:30 PM
Where: Mass, Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Basilica, 18th and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway; Gala, Philadelphia Marriot, 1201 Market Street.

This dinner gala will be held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, located at 1201 Market Street in Philadelphia. The first "Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Award" will be presented.
*As you may know, Philadelphia parking is very limited in the city, particularly around the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul. The Marriott, however; has plenty of parking available. Please plan ahead.
Introduction to Terri's Day!
We invite individual believers to spend time on that day learning about Terri, and praying for all whose lives are threatened in the same way that Terri's was.
We invite Churches to hold memorial services and to educate their people on the dignity of every human life, despite any disability or disease with which that life may be afflicted.
We invite educational institutions to help dispel the myths and inaccuracies about Terri's life and death, and to contribute to our society's debate regarding the rights of the disabled by providing accurate, factual information and mature reflection on the ethical demands of caring for the weak and vulnerable.
We invite all people to use the resources on this website and to help us continue to draw good out of the sad and tragic way in which Terri was treated.

VALLEY FORGE PATRIOTS APRIL MEETING
FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 6pm AT PJ RYANS
BRIDGE ST. PHOENIXVILLE
We will have an organizational meeting with members. The VFP wants to talk with our members to review how the organization is structured, what kind of help we need to be successful and to discuss our plans for 2013. We also need to discuss meeting location(s) and what amenities you want.
There will be no formal speakers, however, Paula Stiles will fill us in on the latest with Smart Meters and state legislation dealing with them.
We really need your thoughts and ideas about how you want your organization to function and what you think we should focus on. We have learned that we can't do everything because there is so much going on at all levels. We must focus on a few most important issues.
Should we work on projects at the local level, the state level, and/or the federal level? Or, should we pick several focal points that could be worked on at all levels? Voter ID would be one of these issues. Should the VFP continue its legislator visit program. This would be another program that would involve all levels of government. How about UN Agenda 21? School Board?
The VFP Steering Committee wants your ideas, your help, and your involvement in continuing to make our programs successful.
PLEASE COME OUT AND JOIN IN THE DISCUSSION!
P.S. Since we are having the meeting at a commercial establishment, and since the room is free, we are expected to buy our food and drink at PJ Ryans. No outside food or drink please.

FrackNation is a documentary on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and the natural gas boom in the US and abroad. FrackNation shows how unfounded opposition to fracking is damaging the lives of some of the poorest and hardest working people in America. FrackNation dispels myths and tells the story of the people directly affected by fracking bans.
FrackNation premiered January 22, 2013 on Mark Cuban's AXS TV. The New York Times called the film "meticulously researched...provocative." And Variety said it was a "briskly paced...mischievous pic."
The film was created and directed by the husband and wife team of Phelim McAleer and the always outrageous Ann McElhinney. Ann will be speaking on April 20th at the upcoming PA Leadership Conference. DVDs of the film will be available for purchase at the PA Coalition booth at PLC
Phelim will be touring Pennsylvania for a series of screenings across the Commonwealth. Listed below are venues and dates for screenings in April. Additional screenings are planned for May including one in the Pittsburgh area. If your grass roots group would like to schedule a screening, please contact Magdalena Segieda at magda@fracknation.com
We are so blessed that over the last four years thousands of churches in over 60 countries have stood in solidarity with Israel through CUFI Sunday. From the largest cities to the smallest towns, from mega churches in the American heartland to underground churches in China, Christians have come together to express their love and support for Israel.
We pray that your church will participate in the fifth annual CUFI Sunday on May 5, 2013. CUFI will provide you with all the materials you need to implement a successful CUFI Sunday, including videos, literature and Pastor John Hagee's personal sermon notes for your use.
Please click hereto participate in CUFI Sunday. As you'll see, you don't have to be a pastor to ensure that your church stands with Israel on CUFI Sunday.
The date we've chosen for CUFI Sunday -- May 5th -- is close to Israeli Independence Day. As the Jewish State celebrates her 65th birthday, there is no better present we can send than the news of thousands of churches standing in solidarity with her!
We look forward to uniting in action and prayer on behalf of Israel with you and your congregation on May 5, 2013.
May God Bless You and Those that You Love,

Announcing the 2013 National Conference
& Legislative Briefing!
June 19 - 21 we will convene at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC for our fourth annual National Conference & Legislative Briefing.
And here's some really great news: This year's registration fee is only $229! Register by April 15th and you'll receive our "Early Bird" rate of just $189!
We also offer again this year special benefits for Patriot Eagle and Patriot sponsors.
We have some exciting new wrinkles planned for this year's event, and our list of confirmed speakers already includes:
Steven Emerson - Journalist, author, and the Executive Editor of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. A. M. Rosenthal, late-managing editor of The New York Times, described Emerson as "one of the nation's best national security correspondents."
John Guandolo - Former FBI agent and one of America's leading authorities on the Muslim Brotherhood and its inner workings in America. Guandolo spoke at our conference in 2011 and received rave reviews from conference attendees!
Ezra Levant - Canadian lawyer, author, newspaper columnist with Sun Media, and former publisher of the Western Standard. Hauled before a Canadian "human rights commission" because he published the Danish cartoons that satirized Muhammad, Levant's personal account of a politically correct government inquisition is something you won't want to miss!
The National Conference & Legislative Briefing will begin on Wed. evening, June 19th, and conclude on Friday, June 21st at noon, with additional optional training sessions Friday afternoon.
It will again feature our very popular Capitol Hill Awards Luncheon and our signature gala banquet-and of course, our Legislative Briefing, where Members of Congress will brief you on various issues and answer your questions.
So make your plans now to join us in our nation's capital for what promises to be our best National Conference & Legislative Briefing ever!
More details to come!
Brigitte Gabriel to Speak
in Baltimore, MD!
Brigitte Gabriel
Leading Global Islamic Terrorism Expert
CLICK HERE to view Brigitte's special video invitation!
It is my privilege to invite you to a special event featuring Brigitte Gabriel, Founder and President of ACT! for America. This event is free and open to the public and will be held at the following:
Central Christian
7411 Rossville Blvd. Baltimore, MD 21237
Monday, May 6th at 7 pm
Ms. Gabriel will speak on the rise of Islamic radicalism in your community and in our nation. Her story of survival as a persecuted Christian living in a bomb shelter for 7 years will have you captivated and inspired! She will share how the events of 9/11 compelled her to start ACT! for America, the largest national security grassroots organization in the U.S.
The recent assaults at our embassies have been a sobering wake-up call to America. The lesson is that we should be displaying strength to our enemies, not appeasement which only demonstrates our weakness. Without question, the threats of radical Islam to America have increased.
These are just some of the threats Brigitte will discuss:
Suppression of criticism of Islam
Homegrown jihad
Terrorists infiltrating our borders
The Muslim Brotherhood and creeping sharia law in America
Misrepresentation of history in our public education
You will hear first-hand how ACT! for America is successfully rolling back the tide of radical Islam...how we are winning legislative victories...how we don't have to live in fear or resign ourselves to the inevitability of the threats arrayed against us...and how we will prevail.
I encourage you to forward this email to everyone you know. For those who are not familiar with ACT! for America, please share this short video with them.
I know those of you who have heard Brigitte will agree, not only do you not want to miss this, but you will want to bring your relatives and friends with you. It will be an event people will be talking about for a long time to come!
Invite your friends and come join us in Baltimore, MD! We look forward to seeing you on May 6th
Guy Rodgers Executive Director
As Israelis celebrate their 65th Independence Day this year, we should all take time out to reflect on the miracle of Israel's independence. We must also ask ourselves the question, "What can I do to ensure that this miracle of Israel survives and thrives?"
We announced earlier this week that we'll be headed to New Orleans the first weekend in August for this year's RedState Gathering. As a member of our RedState family, we'd like to extend exclusive Early Bird registration and pricing to you (just use the promo code EARLYBIRD on the registration page).
The 2013 RedState Gathering will be held August 2-3 at the Westin Canal Place in New Orleans, LA. We'll have two full days of speakers and activities and you can expect a good mix of elected officials and potential candidates for the 2014 cycle (we'll keep you informed as additions are made).
The Gathering has always been a unique event, in that all speakers, even the most in-demand and influential, pay their own way and make their own travel arrangements. This helps keep our costs low, a savings we are happy to pass along to our conference attendees. Additionally, we strive to get you up close to the speakers, ask them to take your questions, and we take care of nearly all your meals during the conference. Bottom line: fewer frills, more thrills and access.
We are thrilled to once again be joined by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who will be hosting a reception for all attendees and appear at the Gathering podium as a keynote speaker. A huge hit in 2012, we're looking forward to Gov. Jindal playing an even larger role this year as he welcomes us to his home state.
Now, more than ever, true conservative activists must come together to exchange ideas and strategize for the future. That's what this year's Gathering is all about. We hope you'll join us.
P.S. Don't delay! You'll receive 20% off if you register today - just use the promo code EARLYBIRD. Click here.

Hi All - I just spoke w/ Lisa Lnancollas@aol.com (717 437 1327) who lives in Lewistown, Pa and is majorly involved in fighting the smart meters............and it's more than just electric, it's water, furnaces/ac's and wells too
We need to share this information. I asked her if she'd speak to groups in our area and she said yes, but would like to include Mike Reese who's written several bills that we want to get out of committee and approved:
2.signs in our yards saying NO SMART METERS......put them around like election signs
3.Let our State Reps know how you feel ie Warren Kampf....tell him you're in favor of the bills against smart meters
4.Do neighbor alerts........call your neighbors if you see trucks coming into the area
5.Write letters to the editors....remember if they get several letters, they're more likely to put at least one in.....educate the public
6.Prepare handouts
7.Send certified letter to electric company and get return receipt of name of person who signed for it
Be aware:
Water Smart Meters.........(IF YOU LET THEM IN, you're giving permission.) YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LET THEM IN
Well Smart Meters......are coming and will limit the amount of water you use.
If you get someone knocking on your door asking if you want to save money on your heat/ac, do not say yes or they'll put a clip on your unit that will limit your usage of air conditioning. The fan will work, but your usage will be CONTROLLED.
IF you get a new wall mount (thermostat & it may be required w/ a new ac unit because of the wiring) for your AC DO NOT GET ONE WITH A GPS in it........there is a cheaper model that has no GPS........ask questions BEFORE you start or consider any changes!!!!!!!!
Important Announcement from SFL
Across America, state and local officials are writing bills and resolutions to protect citizen's from Agenda 21's policies. Because many people do not recognize Agenda 21 in action, property owners still remain at risk.
To help officials recognize Agenda 21's footprint, SFL created a document in a Q&A format that answers:
How do I know Agenda 21 exists in the U.S.?
What does Agenda 21 have to do with sustainable development?
What is wrong with the Brundtland Commission's definition of sustainable development?
How do I know the UN's sustainable development is the same one in our community?
I thought sustainable development is good, what makes you think it is so bad?
How can something like this happen in America?
How will I recognize Agenda 21?
The document has a lot more information for community members and officials, including a brief history of Agenda 21 and actions to take to have safe planning without top-down intervention.
Grants issued in conjunction with government 'sustainability initiatives' contain stipulations or implementation practices that are the primary doorway for Agenda 21/sustainable development to enter your community. These stipulations often require no growth boundaries, income integration through low-income housing demands, reduced vehicle usage, healthy cities, livability principles and other forms of social engineering.
Other grants issued by non-profit groups such as the Packard, Pew or Carnegie Foundations, frequently promote Agenda 21. Often this happens when HUD or some other federal agency funds the foundation with the money they in turn offer as a sustainability-related grant.
Non-governmental organizations:
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) including ICLEI, the Nature Conservancy, American Farmland Trust and the American Planning Association have close ties to HUD-EPA-DOT sustainability initiatives and promote Agenda 21 through their regional and community work, conservation easements and funding.
Federal agencies:
Federal agency Acts including the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act and Endangered Species Act have so expanded, that individual's rights are losing way to unfounded and often exaggerated endangerment findings. The solutions to their findings invariably require fines, taxes, property rights' infringements or the outright transfer of private lands to the government.
Preservation programs, National Parks, Historic Places and Byways, Heritage Sites and Legacy Forest programs have exceeded prudent land and species' protection and are now confiscating massive quantities of the U.S. land mass in alignment with Agenda 21 principles.
The planning process:
Planners' surveys - contain unfair questions that do not express all of resident's options
Consensus meetings - are conducted in ways that elicit responses that support the planner's goals rather than genuine community desires
Visioning sessions- may be over-conducted to the point that the vision belongs to the facilitator and only appears to be that of the community.
Stakeholder meetings - can produce misleading results when the stakeholders do not represent the average community member. Frequently the "stakeholders" have a financial or ideological interest in implementing the plan.
Zoning regulations - originating with the American Planning Association (and others,) contains language that establishes the legal framework to implement Agenda 21 in communities. HUD, other federal agencies and firms such as Siemens funded the development of the APA's Growing Smart Legislative Guidebook, 2nd ed. These supporters all have a stake in Agenda 21's implementation.
Conservation easements - often contain undiscussed clauses that severely restrict property owners' rights, reduce property values and favor the land trust for future contract changes.
Regionalism:
Regional councils replace much of the local officials' authority with unelected boardmembers.
As the regional council matures, local rule diminishes, leaving citizens with more distant and reduced representation.
Once a region is formed, the ability to oppose sustainable development is limited.
Generally, when the regional council accepts grant monies, all tethered communities are bound by the grant stipulations.
Regional planning often includes tax base sharing which promotes wealth transfer by forcing community members to pay for services in other locations.
Regional planning often includes "no growth boundaries" that force housing into urban and inner ring suburban areas. This reduces homebuyers' choices and artificially inflates the value of some properties, while reducing it for others.
Awareness about Agenda 21 is finally spreading throughout the country, due in no small part to your efforts. But knowing it is there isn't enough. Now we need to educate ourselves on how to combat it. That's where you come in.
American Policy Center has recently released a booklet that explains everything you need to know to start fighting back against sustainable programs both locally and nationally. The booklet is called Special Report: Agenda 21 and How to Stop It and is available in the APC store for only $5.95.
I wrote this 35 page booklet in order to give activists a succinct resource they can refer to if they suspect Agenda 21 or Sustainable Development is being implemented in their area. It includes my own research coupled with incredibly helpful graphics created by Carroll County, Maryland Commissioner Richard Rothschild.
In the booklet you will find answers to several roadblocks that grassroots anti-Agenda 21 activists often face, including a definition of property rights and "Resolution to Protect Citizens' Property Rights," which many concerned citizens are already using to tie the hands of power hungry politicians.
This booklet is a great resource for anyone interested in preserving their property rights. It includes all the information to put up a first line of defense and step by step instructions for how to proceed from there. If you face Agenda 21 or Sustainable development in your area or are simply concerned with the national fight this booklet is a must read.
P.S. - The American Policy Center store has recently updated our inventory to include everything you need to fight back against Agenda 21. The revamped catalogue includes the "Stop Agenda 21 Action Kit", which provides users with everything they need to know about Agenda 21 in their own living room, as well as ways to share it with other concerned activists and critical knowledge on how to fight back. The store also offers DVDs of past successful conferences and symposiums, books and articles that deal with the issues of sustainability and Agenda 21 and individually packaged manuals and workbooks to aid you in your activism. You don't need to look any farther than the American Policy Center Store for everything you need to combat Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development in your area.
A concerned parent tipped off TheBlaze to the disturbing fact that NY public schools are teaching the U.N.'s Socialist-leaning Universal Human Rights. We also discovered that the schools are delivering this indoctrination using videos made by the Church of Scientology. Learn what our investigation revealedHERE.
TheBlaze has been at the forefront in uncovering the disturbing details of the nationalized curriculum standard known as Common Core. One of the most troubling aspects of this federal program is that government bureaucrats are currently mining sensitive and highly personal information on children through Common Core's tracking system. Watch the powerful segments from The Glenn Beck Program HERE.
It's time to opt out of the creepy federal data-mining racket.
By Michelle Malkin
Last week, I reported on the federal government's massive new student-tracking database, which was created as part of the nationalized Common Core standards scheme.
The bad news: GOP "leadership" continues to ignore or, worse, enable this Nanny State racket. (Hello, Jeb Bush.)
The good news: A grassroots revolt outside the Beltway bubble is swelling. Families are taking their children's academic and privacy matters out of the snoopercrats' grip and into their own hands. You can now download a Common Core opt-out form to submit to your school district, courtesy of the group Truth in American Education.
Parents caught off guard by the stealthy tracking racket are now mobilizing across the country. According to the
New York Daily News
, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, echoing parents across New York City, blasted the tracking database in a letter to government officials: "I don't want my kids' privacy bought and sold like this." This Wednesday, prompted by parental objections, Oklahoma state representatives unanimously passed House Bill 1989 - the Student Data Accessibility, Transparency and Accountability Act - to prohibit the release of confidential student data without the written consent of the student's parent or guardian. As I noted in last week's column, the national Common Core student database was funded with Obama stimulus money. Grants also came from the liberal Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (which largely underwrote and promoted the top-down Common Core curricular scheme). A division of the conservative Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. built the database infrastructure. A nonprofit startup, "inBloom, Inc.," evolved out of this strange-bedfellows partnership to operate the invasive database, which is compiling everything from health-care histories, income information, and religious affiliations to voting status, blood types, and homework completion.
And it gets worse. Research fellow Joy Pullmann at the Heartland Institute points to a February Department of Education report on its data-mining plans that contemplates the use of creepy student-monitoring techniques such as "functional magnetic resonance imaging" and "using cameras to judge facial expressions, an electronic seat that judges posture, a pressure-sensitive computer mouse and a biometric wrap on kids' wrists."
The DOE report exposes the big lie that Common Core is about raising academic standards. The report instead reveals Common Core's progressive designs to measure and track children's "competencies" in "recognizing bias in sources," "flexibility," "cultural awareness and competence," "appreciation for diversity," "empathy," "perspective taking, trust, [and] service orientation."
That's right. School districts and state governments are pimping out highly personal data on children's feelings, beliefs, "biases," and "flexibility" instead of doing their own jobs of imparting knowledge - and minding their own business. And yes, Republicans such as former Florida governor Jeb Bush continue to falsely defend the centralized Common Core regime as locally driven and non-coercive, while ignoring the database system's circumvention of federal student-privacy laws.
Why? Edu-tech nosybodies are using the Common Core assessment boondoggle as a Trojan horse to collect and crunch massive amounts of personal student data for their own social-justice or moneymaking ends. Reminder: Nine states have entered into contracts with inBloom: Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, and North Carolina. Countless other vendors are salivating at the business possibilities in exploiting public-school students.
Marxism in Education - The Infiltration of Our School Systems by the Common Core Standards
Details
Written by Terresa Monroe-Hamilton
Right Side News has been reporting on progressive education reformers and the Common Core Standards being implemented in our public schools across the nation. Here is an excellent article with videos detailing how the Obama Administration is requiring the public schools in your county through grants (bribes) to adopt Common Core Standards.
Bottom line: the Obama Administration is using your tax money to indoctrinate your children to a Marxist mindset. You can make a difference, as explained below the videos by downloading an OPT-OUT form and submitting that to your local school district.
Terresa Monroe-Hamilton, Noisy Room Blog
I caught Glenn Beck on The Blaze and his excellent showcasing of Obama's Common Core Standards that are now in 45 states, including my state of Idaho. Common Core is Marxism for children. It is state run propaganda and is meant to dumb down and control our little ones. It is evil and it has been a long time coming. Obama pushed it through slyly and quickly after coming into office, but I can tell you, this has been brewing since at least the 1990s.
A little background... When my children were in school in the 1990s, my husband and I requested to see the school curriculum for their school in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were refused and basically told we were too dumb to understand what the teachers were instructing our son and daughter in. The last straw came when they wanted to put my daughter in the second grade on Ritalin instead of disciplining her. I was pulled in front of four teachers and accused of not raising my daughter correctly, as well as basically being an abusive and stupid parent.
I promptly told these teachers that they could pound sand and pulled our children (our son was in third grade at the time) out of school that very same day. I left the Fortune 500 and home schooled both of them till high school and in retrospect, should have kept them out even then. My children could not do the simplest of math or read when we pulled them out. I tested them and started them all over again with the ABEKA home schooling system, which at the time, cost a great deal of money.
Forty-five states, the District of Columbia, four territories, and the Department of Defense Education Activity have adopted the Common Core State Standards.
What information is being collected on your kids through Common Core?

Glenn has spent a lot of time over the past few weeks exposing some of the education initiatives in states across the country that are indoctrinating kids into the radical progressive agenda. Today, Glenn discussed an issue tied into Common Core that many people aren't aware of: data mining.
"We cover many important stories and topics on this program, but I don't think any could be more important than what we are covering tonight: the progressive takeover of America's schools,"
OK....when they look at you like you have a tin foil hat on your head......take some of this information with you. It is 126 pages. I have not read through the entire document (YET) but what I have read is enough to blow off the top of your head. I have highlighted some stuff. KIPP (Charter Schools) has a CHARACTER REPORT CARD on Page 39. So for now start on page 39 and work your way through to page 45. Remember FERPA laws were changed last year and I am sure not one parent is aware that permission to share information about our children no longer requires parental consent. Obama just slipped all these new changes in and I don't believe any parents were ever asked their opinions about these changes. And where was our Republican Congress when this happened???
AGENDA 21 is: The complete control and inventory of every human activity. After your friends read some of this information ask them if they still believe A21 is not real. Chapter 36 of A21 document is devoted to education.
Our government forgets there are still people alive that can think and see through their garbage.
Print this document and get a highlighter...........then start visiting your neighbors, school boards, elected officials and start screaming. GET COMMON CORE AND THE GOVERNMENT out of our class rooms. I think it is time to start a MASS movement for Home Schooling. I know Home Schooling will not be spared. This should be a movement to bring education back to the local level and DESTROY the Federal Department of Education. If our kids are not in school it will create an uprising at all levels. We should not settle for shutting down Common Core because they will masquerade it....they are already doing this in VA. VA supposedly never signed on to Common Core but GUESS WHAT........they ARE implementing Common Core and disguising it from the citizens in VA....of course they aren't doing a good job of hiding it and people in VA are catching on. Our schools have been in the process of a government take over (in earnest) for more than 20 years. If we don't shut down the Department of Education it will never stop. We have to cause a citizen uprising!!
Here is the U.S. Department of Education - Office of Educational Technology document:
"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government - lest it come to dominate our lives and interests"- Patrick Henry

Has Communist Ideology Overtaken America? Education is crucial. Today I want to share two very interesting lists with you, and rather than adding an extensive amount of my commentary, I want to give you the chance to examine the facts for yourself. It is my opinion that many communist goals have already been accomplished. I also believe that advancement has been made in other areas. But, you owe it to yourself to do your own research. I believe not only in the freedom of speech, but also in the responsibility of free thought. So please don't take my word for it. Examine the facts for yourself.
Again, I want to share two lists with you. The first is a list that was entered into 1963 Congressional Record. The second is the 10 planks of The Communist Manifesto.
If you can't see this happening in America, and a ton of progress being made, then I offer two potential explanations:
You are one of the "useful idiots" of communist teaching.
I am one of the "village idiots" that your Mama probably warned you about.
Some of these points will be open for debate and some will not. In some cases it is blatantly obvious that they have achieved their goals. It is even rumored that our own President has deep communist ties. You might want to check that out as well but I will withhold my opinion at this point. Let's just lay it out and you can interpret it.
This list was originally printed in "The Naked Communist" by Cleon Skousen. It was entered into Congressional Record in 1963 as the 45 goals of "The Communist Takeover of America."

Overview:
The sectional divide that led to the outbreak of the Civil War was rooted in fundamentally opposing interpretations of the principles of the Declaration of Independence in addition to diverging perceptions of the institution of slavery. Slaveholders and non-slaveholders alike at the time of the Founding generally agreed that slavery was unjust and an evil that ran counter to the ethos of the Founding, even while countenancing it in practice. By the 1850s, prominent men such as John C. Calhoun and Alexander Stevens argued that slavery was a positive good, and that liberty and equality, far from being natural rights belonging to every human being, were privileges to be earned.

I Used To Have A Country GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary By Don Feder 04/01/2013
Once upon a time, I had a country. It was called America or the United States, "Columbia, The Gem of the Ocean," the land of the free and home of the brave. The Founding Fathers envisioned it as a Shining City on a Hill.
For more than two centuries, it blazed across the skies of history. Now, its light flickers. Soon, it may be no more than a trail of dust and debris.
It was the nation that taught humanity the lessons of republican government, personal sovereignty and inalienable rights. It was the foe of tyranny which twice in the last century saved humanity from unspeakable horror.
It was the shores of refuge where my Jewish grandparents and your Irish or Italian or Hispanic or Asian ancestors came for a life which was impossible and, indeed, inconceivable, anywhere else.
It was a cornucopia of products and inventions that enriched the masses here and abroad and made life infinitely easier for millions. It was the factory from whose assembly line rolled forth the incandescent light bulb, the telephone, the automobile, the airplane, the television, the refrigerator, the computer and on and on.
It was a land of strength, determination, optimism, ingenuity and heroism. It was a nation that led by example, inspired, liberated and defended - that was unbelievably generous to the destitute and disaster victims around the world.
It was a country that produced giants - leaders touched by the Divine - like Washington, Adams, Lincoln, Coolidge and Reagan - inventors like Edison, Ford, Alexander Graham Bell, Charles Goodyear, the Wright brothers and Jobs, and artists like Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Cecile B. DeMille.
It was a nation whose optimism was reflected in movies like "The Wizard of Oz," "Casablanca," "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," "The Best Years of Our Lives," "It's a Wonderful Life," and "The Ten Commandments."
It was a nation that was born in blood, endured wars and depressions, slavery and segregation, bread lines, picket lines and quarantine signs, reversals and betrayals, gang warfare, urban riots and "peace" rallies.

"We received wonderful news late [Friday] afternoon that the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit had granted an injunction in favor of our clients, Frank and Phil Gilardi and their two companies, preventing application of the HHS Mandate against them until their appeal is fully resolved. The Mandate was set to apply on April 1st, when the companies' health plans were to be renewed. ... The Gilardis are Catholic, and they run their companies pursuant to their faith. In keeping with their Catholic faith, for at least the last ten years, the Gilardis have ensured that they do not pay for any contraceptive methods, including abortion-inducing drugs, and sterilization procedures in their employee health plan. If their employees choose to purchase such products and services with their own money, they are free to do so. The HHS Mandate, however, would require the Gilardis and their companies to pay for such products and services in violation of their Catholic faith. Failure to comply would result in annual penalties of more than $14 million dollars. ... [T]he Mandate does not apply to our clients while their case proceeds on appeal, and they will not have to start paying for products and services on April 1st that run contrary to their religious beliefs." --The American Center for Law and Justice

2.Calculating The 'Prevailing Wage' Costs Of A Bad Immigration Compromise
On Friday (as noted here), AFL-CIO boss Richard Trumka and U.S. Chamber head Thomas Donahue (with the "assistance" of Sen. Charles Schumer) reached a "compromise" that would allow up to 200,000 immigrant workers (the numbers dependent on the industry) work visas, so long as a government-imposed wage rate is applied.
Aside from the basic problem of the government dictating artificially high wage (and benefit) rates-known as prevailing wages-the problem is that most do not know what constitutes a "prevailing wage rate."
To demonstrate how stupid this deal is, all one needs to do is look at the Department of Labor's Wage Determinations website that provides prevailing wage rates by state, county and occupation. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
3.In search of equality equality
Last week, Rush Limbaugh said he thought the battle over marriage was lost as soon as rhetorical concessions such as "same-sex marriage" versus "traditional marriage" were made.
Objections have been raised that Limbaugh over-stated the importance of language control to winning this particular debate, but I don't think anyone truly doubts it's an important factor. In fact, it might now be impossible to win the debate over any issue - particularly social issues - without first controlling the language. Both the "pro-life" and "pro-choice" sides of the abortion debate have been contesting the language for decades.. . . please click here for the rest of the post →
4.University Compares Pro-Life Students to White Supremacists
The Student Government Association at Johns Hopkins University compared pro-life students to white supremacists and denied them official club status at the school.
"They were denied status because the students on the student council felt being pro-life violates their harassment policy," said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America."
Hawkins told Fox News the student group, called Voice for Life, is searching for an attorney and they plan on fighting the ban.
The SGA at Johns Hopkins voted March 12 to deny Voice for Life the right to become an official student club. That vote was affirmed on March 24 by the SGA's senate. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
5.Michigan: Union Tactics Delay Right-To-Work For Up to a Decade
School districts and universities in Michigan rushed to sign last-minute contract extensions that effectively bypass the new right-to-work law.
The right-to-work law went into effect last Thursday, but prior to the law going into effect at least 41 school districts and five colleges had approved contracts that circumvent the new law, for a few years. There may be a price to pay, however; Republicans in the Michigan House of Representatives are threatening to apply costly sanctions on these districts and institutions. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Muslim Brotherhood "Information Warfare"- in our schools!
Public school students are the targets of Muslim Brotherhood "information warfare."
If you have a son, daughter or grandchild in a public school, it's almost a certainty they are a target of this information warfare.
For over 20 years, Muslim Brotherhood-connected organizations and individuals have been hard at work getting information into school textbooks that paints a false, rosy picture of the history of Islam.
Last year our "sister" organization, ACT! for America Education, released a report revealing just how successful this public school "information warfare" campaign has been.
For instance, it's common to see these textbooks describe Muslim conquerors as "tolerant," and even "extremely tolerant," of those they conquered-an assertion that is historically false.
As a result, our middle and high school-aged students are being conditioned to accept, without question, the propaganda put out by Muslim Brotherhood organizations like CAIR and ISNA, and their politically correct enablers.
ACT! for America is fighting back against this "information warfare" campaign aimed at our children.
Last year dozens of ACT! for America chapter leaders and members met with school board members and other education officials to make sure they were aware of the findings of this report.
Just recently, one of our chapter leaders in Washington state helped a student prepare a report on Islam. In doing so the chapter leader, using our textbook report, showed the student the many errors in the textbook. The student's report pointed this out to the school principal-who removed the book from use in the school!
In June 2011, with the help and support of several ACT! for America chapter leaders, the father of a 7th grader in Washington state filed a complaint about a textbook that had a strong pro-Islamic bias. In response, the school district suspended use of the book pending a further review.
Later this year we will launch a two-year grassroots campaign that will include letters to the editor, more meetings with school officials, petitions to local school boards, meetings with textbook publishers, and expert testimony before state textbook selection committees.
If you're a parent or grandparent, this information warfare campaign should be especially frightening. Your children and grandchildren are being indoctrinated.
With your help, we'll be able to challenge textbooks all over the country and eventually "convince" publishers to make revisions so that Islam is presented in an accurate, unbiased way.

3 Reasons the U.N.'s Arms Treaty Is UselessIt sounds nice to say there could be a treaty that would make all nations responsible when it comes to their arms exports. Of course, it's also impossible.
The latest draft of the U.N.'s Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which would regulate imports and exports of arms around the world, failed on Friday after a two-week negotiating conference.
Many media reports have said that Iran, North Korea, and Syria were the reasons the treaty failed. But Heritage senior research fellow Ted Bromund was at the conference and reported that, in reality, 29 nations voiced opposition. "All in all, about one in five of the nations at the conference did not back the treaty," Bromund said.
And it's not over yet-the U.N. General Assembly is still likely to vote the treaty into being this week. Unfortunately, the U.S. is likely to vote for it in the Assembly.
The U.S. has no business validating such a meaningless document. The ATT is useless for many reasons, including:
1. Bad guys won't play by the rules. Dictators have no interest whatsoever in being responsible exporters of arms. Instead, they want to protect their rights as importers. That means that they want a treaty that guarantees them the right to buy guns while decreasing the possibility of armed rebellion by their own oppressed people.
The idea that having a treaty would stop dictators, terrorists, and others bent on violence is wishful thinking. But U.N. treaties treat democracies and dictatorships equally.
2. The ATT focuses mainly on those who export arms, instead of arms importers. As Bromund says, "This is in line with the tendency of both the U.N. and uncritical believers in arms control to blame problems on weapons, not on those who use them. Yet it is the importers of the arms, not the exporters or the arms themselves, that are actually responsible for arming terrorists or committing human rights violations with the arms in question."
Many African nations say they need an ATT to stop arms smuggling. But it's African governments that do a lot of the smuggling. As Bromund said, "listening to dedicated arms smugglers like Kenya, South Sudan, and Rwanda moan about how they need the treaty to save them from arms smuggling is enough to make you sick."
3. The treaty still omits the right of individual self-defense. Bromund has explained that the ATT is not a simple "gun grab," but it's based on the idea that only governments have an inherent right to own firearms. That's one reason why the ATT doesn't recognize American citizens' Second Amendment rights. Restricting the supply of firearms to private citizens is also something dictators like, because they want to prevent armed opposition to their regimes.
As the world's most responsible arms exporter, the U.S. has no need to sign on to this international charade. At least some of America's leaders seem to have caught on, since opposition to the ATT is now at an all-time high in the Senate. We can hope this has a bearing on President Obama's decision when it comes time to sign.

Feeling The Love At Easter
On Easter Sunday the First Family walked from the White House across Farragut Square to St. John's Episcopal Church. There they heard the Rev. Luis Leon preach the Easter "good news" of "He is risen, He is risen indeed." The only problem was that appears not to be what they heard.
According to Reuters' Jeff Mason, who filed the "pool report" to the other media outlets, Reverend Leon in his sermon did not have much love for some Christians. He reportedly said to the congregation, "It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back... for blacks to be back in the back of the bus... for women to be back in the kitchen.... For immigrants to be back on their side of the border."
Do you feel the love? White House press Secretary Jay Carney refused to say today what Obama thought of the reverend's remarks. I am going to make a wild guess that since Obama apparently had no problem listening to the Reverend Wright's poisoned hate every Sunday in his Chicago church, Reverend Luis Leon's libel of conservatives made Obama feel right at home.
The Leftist "Lynching" Of Ben Carson Begins
Dr. Ben Carson burst onto the scene after his bold speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in February. His remarks were a breath of fresh air for millions of Americans who want to take the country back from Obama and his left-wing coalition of socialists and radical secularists. I have known about Dr. Carson for years, and I agree that he seems to have the character many would like to see in our leaders. BUT. . .
It is a vain hope to think that simply having a good heart and a remarkable story of success and achievement will somehow inoculate that individual from the political killing machine that the left has developed in recent years.
After Dr. Carson's remarks at the Prayer Breakfast, I half-jokingly told people that within 24 hours an office would be opened up in Washington, D.C., New York or San Francisco with a dozen leftist researchers pouring over every second of his life trying to find things that could be used to bring him down. As I predicted, the Carson killing machine is now in high gear.
MSNBC's Toure Neblett recently said that Dr. Carson is nothing more than the conservative movement's "new black friend" who is "helpful in assuaging their guilt." He also said that Dr. Carson, a neurosurgeon, is "unserious."
This is what the left has done to Clarence Thomas, Allen West and other people of color who have defended conservatism. After they are done destroying black or Hispanic Republicans, they have the audacity to say to the country, "Look at those Republicans -- they don't have any minorities standing with them."
Now comes the latest attack against Dr. Carson. The left is creating a narrative that he is a bigot. Asked on Sean Hannity's show what he thought about the marriage debate, Dr. Carson responded:
"Well, my thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It's a well-established, fundamental pillar of society, and no group -- be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn't matter what they are -- they don't get to change the definition."
Dr. Carson was immediately excoriated for his remarks, and he quickly apologized if he offended anyone. (Note to Dr. Carson: Don't run for president if you are going to start apologizing for offending liberals. They are offended by your very existence.)
Now students at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine have launched a petition to prevent Dr. Carson from speaking at this year's commencement ceremony because his values are "deeply offensive to a large proportion our student body." (Note to pastors and young Christians: The same-sex marriage debate is not about "fairness for everyone." Wake up! This is a battering ram to destroy your religious liberty and freedom of speech.)
When Hillary Clinton finally went up to Capitol Hill to testify about the Benghazi attacks, a number of Republican senators told their staff members and others, "We've got to be careful. We can't be seen as attacking someone who is popular because that could hurt us." That is precisely the wrong mindset to adopt if you hope to expose a cover-up or gross incompetence.
In contrast, liberal Democrats see a black conservative doctor with a wonderful personality and incredible achievements and no matter how popular he is, their first instinct is to take him down. That is what Obama and the radical left has done to our politics. They have turned it into a "blood sport," and right now it is Dr. Ben Carson being sliced up.
A Black Businessman Blasts Obama
The founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), Bob Johnson, made headlines last week. He blasted the economic condition of the African American community in America. "This country would never tolerate white unemployment at 14 and 15 percent," he said. "No one would ever stay in office at 14 or 15 percent. Unemployment in this nation, but we've had that double unemployment (among blacks) for over 50 years."
Johnson is right. After decades of liberal policies the black community has little to show for its loyalty to the Democrat Party. The Great Society's "war on poverty" and the election of Barack Obama have not significantly altered the economic reality facing black Americans. A definition of insanity is said to be doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Socialism doesn't work for anyone -- including America's minorities.
Fighting Back
The lead article at Politico today is about how leaders of the pro-family movement are fighting back against misguided efforts within the Republican Party to abandon values issues. Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum said, "We're not the Libertarian Party, we're the Republican Party." He stressed that if the GOP drops values issues, it will go the way of the Whig Party.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee noted that the GOP's last two candidates were "more moderate candidates" who failed to energize the evangelical base. Huckabee added, "If all of the evangelicals had showed up, it may have made a difference."
I was pleased that the key argument I have been making about the Reagan coalition made it into this report. As I explained to Politico, the values issues are more popular than many of the party's economic positions. But if the GOP alienates its base by abandoning values, it risks losing its economic agenda in the process. You can read the Politico article here.
Seriously? This is coming from the man who added more to the national debt in four years than George W. Bush added in eight! Obama hasn't even submitted a budget to Congress yet, even though he is well past the legal deadline and both the House and Senate have already passed their own budgets. Talk about audacity!

"A law repugnant to the Constitution is void." Though Chief Justice John Marshall's decision in the landmark case Marbury vs Madison has led to 2 centuries of power-abusing mischief on the part of our federal government, he did have the premise correct-a law which is unconstitutional is not a law at all. What he did not add, but might have I suspect, is that such a "law" need not be followed and should not be enforced, especially not by those who have sworn an oath to uphold and defend that Constitution.
For months the American people have been threatened with legislation promoting gun confiscation, "assault weapons" bans and schemes which would lead quite inevitably to the national registration of firearms and their owners. New York and Colorado have already enacted such legislation, all in typical leftist, knee-jerk response to the Newtown killings.
I've spent the past week in Hilton Head, which is in South Carolina's first congressional district.
The runoff between Mark Sanford, the former governor infamous for his "Appalachian Trail" hike, and Curtis Bostic, a former Charleston city-council member, will be held Tuesday. (Put aside your worries of Democratic mischief-making: If you voted in the Democratic primary two weeks ago, you're not allowed to vote in the Republican runoff.)
The Sanford campaign ran an ad in Sunday's Island Packet - a lengthy thanks to the district for the honor of asking for their vote, a reminder of the Cato Institute's praise of his fiscally conservative ways, and oh yes, a rather large photo of Sanford and his sons - a not-too-subtle reminder that, "Hey, I've tried to put things right with my family as best I can."
I've chatted with a couple of active Republican and tea-party activists down here.
If Sanford is the nominee, a certain number of Republicans won't vote for him, citing the 2009 scandal and sense that Sanford embarrassed the state by traveling to Argentina and not telling anyone. (The affair is considered much less of an issue than his leaving the state under false pretenses.) Very few of those folks feel strongly enough about Sanford to vote for Elizabeth Colbert-Bush; they'll just stay home.
Of course, if Bostic is the nominee, a certain number of Republicans will stay home as well. No doubt, Bostic has two key bases of support, Evangelical Christians and home schoolers. As one Beaufort County resident put it to me, "I'm hearing folks saying, 'My preacher says I should vote for him.'" The problem is breaking beyond that base, and branching out support beyond the Charleston suburbs into Beaufort County, into the retiree-heavy precincts along Route 278 and on Hilton Head Island. Bostic's candidacy is pretty clearly built around his religious identity - he's described himself as a creationist - and that's not quite the brand of conservatism that traditionally sells in this district. If last week's Public Policy Polling survey is to be believed, it's almost a wash when it comes to which candidate can unify the party: "Sanford (76%) and Bostic (72%) are both earning less than 80% of the GOP vote."
The smart money is on a Sanford victory, although Bostic could keep it close. PPP has Sanford ahead 53 percent to 40 percent, as of a week ago. The former governor starts with a base of about 20,000 voters who supported him in the first round of the primary; almost all of those voters can be counted on to show up Tuesday, while Bostic starts from a base of about 7,000. There are about 22,000 Republicans who voted for some other candidate in the primary.
For those in this neck of the woods, both men will appear at noon at the Hilton Head Island First Monday Club candidate forum at Aunt Chilada's, 69 Pope Avenue, Hilton Head.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is going to dump a ton of effort into this race either way (although not necessarily money, as they'll probably bet that Elizabeth Colbert-Busch will be able to raise money through her famous brother's endorsement). If they win, or even if it's close, they can brag that they've managed to win a House race in South Carolina. Republican activists are a little nervous down here; they know that while this is a Republican district, it is one where Obama took about 40 percent of the vote in 2012. Normally, the lower-turnout special election should benefit the Republican. But with Colbert talking up his sister, and perhaps the national spotlight on a potential Sanford comeback, turnout could be considerably higher.
You Missed Your Sequester Updates Last Week, Didn't You?
Give the president credit, he endured four weeks of the sequester's oh-so-painful spending cuts before hitting the links:
With the sun shining at the nation's capital, President Obama went golfing Saturday afternoon - his first golf outing since the sequester cuts went into effect on March 1.
The president hit the links with friend and Chicago businessman Marty Nesbitt and White House staffers Michael Brush and Marvin Nicholson, the White House said.
The president last golfed in February with golf powerhouse Tiger Woods at a posh golf club, the Floridian, in Palm City, Fla.
Politico notices, yet again, that the doomsday talk has not yet come to pass:
More than a month after Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood warned of "calamity" in the skies, travelers are still flying. Airlines aren't yet canceling flights. And there's no sign of the long lines the Obama administration warned everyone to expect when automatic spending cuts hit March 1.
What happened? The much-feared budget ax is turning out to be a slow-rolling series of snips, with effects that have been much more gradual or modest than projected.
Airlines have yet to suspend or cancel flights in response to the cuts, even though LaHood predicted during a White House appearance Feb. 22 that they would do so "within the next 30 days."
Meanwhile, far fewer airport control towers are facing potential closures than the 238 that the Federal Aviation Administration warned about in February. Only 24 towers - in places like Olathe, Kan., and Gig Harbor, Wash. - are in the first batch set to lose all their FAA funding on April 7. Dozens more will follow through early May, but local or state funding will keep some of those towers operating indefinitely.
The sequester, the series of federal budget cuts that went into effect March 1, remains for many in this city a theoretical concept.
A recent tour through Baltimore suggests that officials who run programs affected by Washington's across-the-board cuts are seeking ways to pare their budgets in ways that don't directly affect services.
Among the approaches: trimming operating hours, asking existing workers to take on new duties, or hoping volunteers or donors will step up. And since many potential cuts have yet to take place, the real-world impact so far has been blunted.
Civilian defense employees now are facing 14 unpaid furlough days this summer instead of the 22 previously announced by the Pentagon, thanks to more funding from Congress.
Up to 750,000 defense workers will still lose nearly three weeks' pay; military officials must still cover about $43 billion in mandatory budget cuts between now and October.
North Korea Just Won't Stay Out of the Headlines, Will It?
Sure, the North Korean regime has established a long, frustrating, and ignoble tradition of extortion and saber-rattling. But doesn't the latest round feel . . . different?
U.S. officials and independent experts say North Korea appears to have taken unusual steps to conceal details about the nuclear weapon it tested last month, fueling suspicions that its scientists shifted to a bomb design that uses highly enriched uranium as the core.
At least two separate analyses of the Feb. 12 detonation confirmed that the effects of the blast were remarkably well contained, with few radioactive traces escaping into the atmosphere where they could be detected, according to U.S. officials and weapons experts who have studied the data.
And is this response from the U.S. and our allies . . . standard issue?
The U.S. flew F-22 stealth fighter jets to South Korea Sunday for joint exercises, a further demonstration of advanced military capabilities meant to deter provocations from Pyongyang.
The arrival of the F-22 fighters follows U.S. displays of air power last week that included B-52 bombers and B-2 stealth bombers. The F-22s are ordinarily stationed in Japan at Kadena Air Base but flew to Osan Air Base in South Korea for the continuing exercises.
The F-22s, among the most expensive and advanced weapons in the Air Force's arsenal, are capable of evading radar and air-defense systems. The U.S. hasn't used them in combat but has deployed them in the United Arab Emirates and Japan as a deterrent against Iran and North Korea.
Over at The Daily Beast, Gordon Chang diagnoses the ominous escalation: "Every year, Pyongyang makes bombastic threats before the U.S.-South Korea military exercises. Then, the North Koreans go quiet when the drills begin. This year, however, the tantrum has continued and the words have become increasingly dire. This month, for instance, Pyongyang abrogated the armistice ending the Korean War and threatened pre-emptive nuclear strikes on the United States. The one-a-day rhetorical blasts suggest something is terribly wrong inside the North Korean regime."
Actually, there's always been a lot that's been terribly wrong inside the North Korean regime. But the point is that somehow, things have gotten terribly worse.
ADDENDA: I'll spend most of Monday playing the game, "Just how many miles above the speed limit can you travel on Interstate 95," so Campaign Spot updates will be sparse . . .
Remember Peggy Noonan's lament of "Understaffed America"? I sure saw that this past week on vacation. I've worked in the service industry, I know that it's particularly tough and sometimes thankless work, and I try to be patient. But time and again, I go into restaurants, the hostess seats us . . . and we're just left there, waiting, for a waiter to appear, greet us, mention any specials, take any drink orders, etcetera. I started getting out my watch and measuring - four or five minutes going by in between sightings of the waiter. And it's not just our table or section's waiter who's off in the kitchen; there are no other waiters around. And this is at lunch hour!
Okay, American restaurants. It's time to start hiring again.

Egypt is not going into an economic and social tailspin because the government of Hosni Mubarak fell in 2011; the government of Hosni Mubarak fell because Egypt already was headed into an economic and social tailspin. We stand not before a glorious era of Muslim democracy, comparable to the revival of Eastern Europe after the fall of Communism, but a prolonged period of chaos. We cannot prevent this; at best we can limit the damage.

The plunder of everyone's money in Cyprus is probably one of the most brilliant acts of wholesale theft the world has ever known, the stolen treasure may be thousands of times greater than has been suggested, and the names of the victims, and the full value of the loot, will remain a mystery forever, says this analyst.
While Obama's Minion Media continue to ignore what really took place at the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya, brand-new questions are emerging about this key player, one of the most famous Americans in the entire world.
Impossible to tell from here whether the North Korean boy prince Kim Jong Un's belligerence is serious, a new attempt to blackmail the U.S., or some kind of internal intrigue to shore up his position against forces in the military or other elites that might think they've had just about enough of the Kims. The fact that we've sent over stealth fighters and bombers suggests we're taking the matter seriously.
U.S.S. John McCain
Today comes the news that we've also sent a missile frigate to the waters near the Norks: the U.S.S. John McCain. I had to doublecheck: is this an April Fool's joke? Apparently not. And on second thought, if we'd really wanted to rattle young Kim, we'd have sent over U.S. Senator John McCain, who is an unguided missile that might hit anything, rather than the U.S.S. John McCain (named for the Senator's father and grandfather, both admirals) which has precision guided missiles. (If the Navy ever names a ship for Senator McCain, I'm sure it will be a wooden-hulled minelayer.) Max Boot has more thoughts on the matter over at Commentary Magazine.
Meanwhile, here's the latest satellite intelligence photos of what the Norks are up to.
Is there a more overrated sporting event than the NCAA basketball tournament? Maybe soccer's World Cup, but I doubt it.
This year's brick-fest was also a rout-fest, as the tourney failed to produce anything close to the number of dramatic contests one would expect from so many games between alleged quality teams.
To relieve the boredom, and to remember better times, I thought I'd come up with all-time all-star teams for this year's Final Four schools. Let's start with tradition-rich University of Michigan, winner of one NCAA title and runner-up mulitiple times.
First Team: Gary Grant (1985-88)
This great point guard is fourth on the all-time Michigan scoring list and is the school's all-time leading assist man.
Glenn Rice (1986-89)
One of the greatest shooters in the history of the college game, Rice led the Wolverines to their only national title. He's also their all-time leading scorer.
Cazze Russell (1964-66)
Jazzie Cazzie was a scoring machine. He averaged 27 points per game during his college career and 30.8 in his senior season. Michigan won the Big Ten crown in each of Russell's three seasons, and he led the team to the Final Four (third place) in 1964.
Rudy Tomjanovich (1968-70)
These days, most fans remember Rudy T as a successful NBA coach and perhaps as the victim of Kermit Washington's famous haymaker. But Tomjanovic is one of the best big men ever to play the college game. At Michigan, he averaged 25.1 points and 14 rebounds per game. As a senior the numbers were 30 and 15.5.
Bill Buntin (1963-65)
Buntin was the center on two Big Ten championship teams and on the 1964 Final Four outfit. He averaged 22 points and 13 rebounds during his Michigan career.
Second Team Rumeal Robinson (1988-90)
The point guard on the national championship team, Robinson is second on Michigan's all-time assist list. He shot 53 percent from the field during his college career.
Mike McGee (1978-81)
He's number two on the all-time school scoring list. In his final season at Michigan, McGee averaged 24.4 points per game with a .515 shooting percentage.
Henry Wilmore (1971-73)
This name won't be familiar to many because Wilmore had no pro career. In college, though, he averaged 23.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. His best year was his sophomore season in which he averaged 25.1 and 9.8.
Chris Webber (1992-93)
The fabbest of the Fab Five, Webber led Michigan to the national championship game in each of his two years at the school. Had he stayed for a third, Webber almost certainly would an all-time first-teamer.
Phil Hubbard (1976-79)
Hubbard was a sophomore on the 1976 national runner-up. That year, he averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game. The next year, he was even better (19.6 points and 13 rebounds). After that, a serious injury slowed him down considerably, but he's still number four on Michigan's all-time rebounding list.
It looks like we have three scholarships left. Let's award them to Ricky Green (top star of the 1976 national runner-up team, for whom he averaged 20 points per game), Campy Russell (he averaged 24.6 points and 11.6 rebounds in 1974), and Juwon Howard (the second fabbest of the Fab Five).
David Rieff is a principled man of the left whom I greatly respect. He last wrote in to comment on "R2P or not R2P." Today he writes to comment on "Contain this" and Egypt's food crisis:
I actually share your skepticism about the Arab Spring, but having spent the last five years writing a book about the crisis of the global food system, I'd caution you that linking the food crisis in Egypt to the Morsi government is unwise (see this 2008 link). The crisis is global and affects countries with very different political systems and ideological biases. And in the specific case of Egypt, if anything, the global spike in food prices and, more importantly still, the increasing volatility in the price of food staples over the past decade, is generally thought in the development world (and by groups like Stratfor) to have played some role in undermining the Mubarak regime - though unsurprisingly there is no consensus about the extent of that role.
Moreover, while you are right to tax USAID for not attaching human rights conditionalities to American food aid, in fairness it should be pointed out that in this it is simply pursuing the same approach of what might politely called non-interference it did during the 30 years of Mubarak (and for which human rights groups taxed it at the time).
I am grateful to have Mr. Rieff's knowledgeable comment on this important subject and hope he will check in with us again when his book is published.
When USMC General John Allen's retirement was announced in February, our friend Hugh Hewitt called on Victor Davis Hanson to answer the question whether such a drain of military talent - the retirements of Generals McChrystal, Petraeus, Mattis and Allen, in that order - had ever previously occurred in our country's history over so short a period of time (30 months) because of retirement. "That they occurred during wartime," Hugh wrote, made "the loss of expertise even more shocking." Hanson stated there was no parallel. He added that it was a sort of reverse of General George Marshall's fabled "little black book of talent," wherein the great American was said to have kept track of the best talents in the military.
In the featured essay of this month's Commentary, Max Boot explains the misfortune. Commentary has placed Boot's essay online and I want to draw it to your attention: "How America lost its four great generals."Boot knows what he is talking about and it is an important essay. Boot concludes:
We do not have such a surplus of brilliant commanders that we can afford to wave away those like Petraeus and McChrystal and Allen and Mattis, who have demonstrated a mastery of the modern battlefield. We can only hope that President Obama's cavalier attitude toward the loss of their institutional knowledge, their leadership abilities, and their complex understanding of a dangerous world does not prove to be a tragedy for the nation.
Western governments funnel hundreds of millions of dollars of aid to the Palestinian Authority and Palestinian non-government institutions. One such is Hanan Ashrawi's MIFTAH, which describes itself this way:
Established in Jerusalem in December 1998, with Hanan Ashrawi as its Secretary-General, MIFTAH seeks to promote the principles of democracy and good governance within various components of Palestinian society; it further seeks to engage local and international public opinion and official circles on the Palestinian cause. To that end, MIFTAH adopts the mechanisms of an active and in-depth dialogue, the free flow of information and ideas, as well as local and international networking.
The European Union and, as of 2010, the United States, funds MIFTAH, as do other major funders such as the Ford Foundation. But what kind of "dialogue" does MIFTAH promote?
While in Israel, President Obama spoke of Passover to Israeli students as a "sacred holiday." This was too much for one Nawaf al-Zaru, who sought to set the record straight on the Arabic-language version of MIFTAH's site:
Does Obama in fact know the relationship, for example, between "Passover" and "Christian blood" ..?! Or "Passover" and "Jewish blood rituals..?!
Much of the chatter and gossip about historical Jewish blood rituals in Europe are real and not fake as they claim; the Jews used the blood of Christians in the Jewish Passover...
Ashrawi is a cable news fixture and a liberal media darling and diplomat. It's a good gig and Ashrawi knows what is required to keep it going. Having been called out by the Elder of Ziyon, Ashrawi hung tough. Elder followed up with posts here, here, and here.
MIFTAH responded with a denunciation of Elder of Ziyon as an obscure pro-Israeli blogger promoting a "smear campaign." MIFTAH wanted it known that it had just been furthering "dialogue." In a post dated April 1, however, MIFTAH has succumbed to second thoughts (emphasis in original):
The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy, MIFTAH would like to apologize for the recent and brief publication on our website of an article penned by Nawaf Al Zaru that discusses Jewish blood libel during Passover.
It has become clear to us after investigating this incident that the article was accidentally and incorrectly published by a junior staff member. The said staffer has been reprimanded and all our staff has been informed as to the disgusting and repulsive phenomena of blood libel or accusation, including its use against Jews. Dr. Hanan Ashrawi, as founder, has nothing to do with the day to day management at MIFTAH and was no way involved in this incident.
We express our sincerest regret for offense caused by the oversight that resulted in said publication. We are whole-heartedly committed to fighting racism, hatemongering, discrimination and persecution of any kind wherever it should exist, and especially in our own society.
As for the April 1 publication date, make of it what you will.
Major School Choice Victory in Indiana
By Lindsey Burke
It's hard to overstate what an outstanding victory for school choice Indiana's Supreme Court issued last week.
Indiana's highest court ruled unanimously in Meredith v. Pence that the Choice Scholarship Program (CSP), which provides vouchers to low-income and middle-income families in the Hoosier State, is constitutional. The suit, brought by the teachers unions, sought to end the country's largest and most inclusive school voucher program.
Thankfully for the families currently participating in the CSP-and for the 600,000 children who are now eligible to receive scholarships to attend a private school that meets their unique learning needs-the court sided 5-0 with educational freedom.
Indiana has sent a powerful message on school choice to states across the country, and has ensured hundreds of thousands of children across the state will have access to schools that they have chosen and that meet their needs.
In a huge victory for school choice, the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Douglas County Choice Scholarship program, the state's only private school choice program.
Number of the Week
93
In a survey of parents with children in the Louisiana Scholarship Program, 93 percent of respondents said they were happy with their child's school.
4,700 students are currently enrolled in the program, which provides scholarships to disadvantaged children in underperforming schools.
"[P]arents should be able to choose where their children go to school, regardless of their income...[Indiana] must continue to find ways to expand educational opportunities for all Indiana families."
-Governor Mike Pence (R-IN)

Judiciary Chairman Vows to Rush Amnesty Bill through Senate; Divide Emerges over Process
In an about-face, Judiciary Chairman Pat Leahy (D-VT) vowed he would move "comprehensive" immigration reform legislation through the Senate "with all deliberate speed" once the Gang of Eight introduces its bill.
Labor and Business Reach Agreement on Guest Workers
Only a week after talks stalled, the AFL-CIO and Chamber of Commerce say they reached agreement on the details of a new guest worker program to be included in the Senate Gang of Eight's amnesty bill. Negotiations between labor and business had stalled at the beginning of Congress's Easter recess over a variety of details, including the size of a new guest worker program, wages, and whether certain industries would be exempt from the program.
According to House "Gang of Eight" Member Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY), the group is "very close" to releasing its comprehensive immigration reform bill. "We've really resolved all of the truly contentious issues," Yarmuth announced in an interview last Wednesday on MSNBC. "I'm very optimistic... In our group, everybody is really committed to getting this done. We know we have to deal with the immigration issue and this is the best opportunity we've had in generations."
President Obama Confident Congress will Pass Amnesty this Summer
During the taped interviews with Univision and Telemundo, President Obama expressed confidence that Congress would pass an amnesty bill this summer so long as the Senate Gang of Eight stays on track to introduce legislation the week of April 8. "If we have a bill introduced at the beginning of next month as these senators indicate it will be, then I'm confident that we can get it done certainly before the end of the summer," President Obama told Telemundo.
AFL-CIO: Guest Worker Program Not Necessary for "Comprehensive" Immigration Reform
Ana Avendaņo, the AFL-CIO's immigration director, told reporters last week that a guest worker program is not a necessary component of "comprehensive" immigration reform. Instead, granting amnesty to the roughly 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. was the AFL-CIO's real priority.
Napolitano Scraps Border Security as Pre-Condition for Amnesty
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano last Tuesday reaffirmed the Obama administration's opposition to securing the border before granting amnesty to the roughly 12 million illegal aliens in the United States. At an event hosted by the Christian Science Monitor on Tuesday, Secretary Napolitano said the Department of Homeland Security would not develop an official metric for measuring border security.
Montana Court Upholds Law to Deny Benefits to Illegal Aliens
On March 26, 2013, Montana District Court for Lewis and Clark County upheld Montana Legislative Referendum 121. Enacted by 80 percent of Montana voters last November, LR-121 denies certain state services and state-taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal aliens who reside in Montana.
Open Borders Groups Have Spent $1.5 Billion Lobbying Congress Since 2007
According to the Sunlight Foundation, a government transparency and accountability organization, special interest groups supportive of granting amnesty and expanding legal immigration spent $1.5 billion lobbying Congress since the 2007 comprehensive immigration reform bill failed.
Swords, Skulls, Communist Puppets...OH MY! Obama's shock Easter sermon: 'Captains of the religious right' want blacks 'in the back of the bus,' women 'back in the kitchen' St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington D.C. is known as the President's church, but soon they're also going to soon be known as one of the worst churches in America if they keep this up. To celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the salvation of all mankind, the pastor felt it was appropriate to call conservatives racist & sexist. Sounds more like a DNC meeting than an Easter sermon. STORY
Google celebrates Easter with... Cesar Chavez? Google is known for changing its logo on holidays, notable anniversaries, and important days in history...but it's also notable for having questionable priorities. For example, on George Washington's birthday Google celebrated poet Edward Gorey. Yesterday, Easter Sunday, they were back at it again. This time they chose to celebrate progressive union organizer Cesar Chavez instead of Jesus Christ. Okay then. MORE

Just how much of your private information does the NSA want?
In the weeks following the premiere of For The Record, it was clear that TheBlaze was ahead of the curve. News organizations across the country have begun looking into the United States government's plans to scan more private web traffic and emails of American citizens without warrant. Thomas Drake, the NSA whistleblower you met in For The Record: Surveillance State, issued a stern warning to the press about what would happen to them if they tried to expose the truth. Drake is no stranger to the ability of the government to try and silence those who expose them.

Is The Bible TV series filled with historical inaccuracies?

While most Christians understand this is a Hollywood produced series, and some creative liberties were expected to be taken, some critics are making sure to point out the "inaccuracies" in the series.
