These should not be foreboding years. The U.S. is in the midst of a veritable energy revolution. There is a godsend of new gas and oil discoveries that will help to curtail our fiscal and foreign policy vulnerabilities - an energy bonanza despite, not because of[1], the present administration.
Demographically, our rivals - the EU, China, Russia, and Japan - are both shrinking and aging[2] at rates far in excess of our own[3].
In terms of farming, the United States is exporting more produce than ever before at record prices. Americans eat the safest and cheapest food on the planet.
As far as high-tech gadgetry, the global companies that have most changed the world in recent years - Amazon's online buying, Google search engines, Apple iPhones, iPads, and Mac laptops - are mostly American. There is a reason why Mexican nationals are not crossing their border into Guatemala - and it is not because they prefer English speakers to Spanish speakers.
Militarily, the United States is light years ahead of its rivals. And so on...
The New Poverty Is the Old Middle Class
We have redefined poverty itself[4] through government entitlements, modes of mass production and consumerism, and technological breakthroughs. The poor man is not hungry; more likely he suffers from obesity, now endemic among the less affluent. He is not deprived of a big-screen TV, a Kia, warm water, or an air conditioner. (My dad got our first color television during my first year in college in 1972, a small 19 inch portable; I bought my first new car at 39, and quit changing my own oil at 44.)
In classical terms, today's poor man is poor not in relative global terms (e.g. compared to a Russian, Bolivian, or Yemeni), but in the sense that there are those in America who have more things and choices than does he: a BMW instead of a Hyundai, ribeye instead of ground beef, Pellegrino rather than regular Coke, Tuscany in the summer rather than Anaheim at Disneyland, and L.L. Bean tasteful footwear rather than Payless shoes. I was in Manhattan not long ago, and noticed that my cheap, discount-store sportcoat and Target tie did not raise eyebrows among the wealthy people I spoke to, suggesting that the veneer of aristocracy is now within all our reach. When I returned to Selma, I noted that those ahead of me at Super Wal-Mart were clothed no differently than was I. Their EBD cards bought about the same foods.
Put all the above developments together, and an alignment of the planets is favoring America as never before - as long as we do not do something stupid to nullify what fate, our ancestors, and our own ingenuity have given us. But unfortunately that is precisely what is now happening.
The New Hubris
These are the most foreboding times in my 59 years. The reelection of Barack Obama has released a surge of rare honesty among the Left about its intentions, coupled with a sense of triumphalism that the country is now on board for still greater redistributionist change.
There is no historical appreciation among the new progressive technocracy that central state planning[5], whether the toxic communist brand or supposedly benevolent socialism, has only left millions of corpses in its wake, or abject poverty and misery. Add up the Soviet Union and Mao's China and the sum is 80 million murdered or starved to death. Add up North Korea, Cuba, and the former Eastern Europe, and the tally is egalitarian poverty and hopelessness. The EU sacrificed democratic institutions for coerced utopianism and still failed, leaving its Mediterranean shore bankrupt and despondent.
Nor is there much philosophical worry that giving people massive subsidies destroys individualism, the work ethic, and the personal sense of accomplishment. There is rarely worry expressed that a profligate nation that borrows from others abroad and those not born has no moral compass. There is scant political appreciation that the materialist Marxist argument - that justice is found only through making sure that everyone has the same slice of stuff from the zero-sum pie - was supposed to end up on the ash heap of history.
One of those occasions when one picture really does speak a thousands words.
Houston, we may have a spending problem.
U.S. Marine's Scathing Response to Sen. Feinstein's Gun Control Proposal: 'I Am Not Your Subject. I Am the Man Who Keeps You Free' The Blaze | by Jason Howerton | January 2, 2013 at 7:30pm
One U.S. Marine was more than a little displeased with California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's draconian gun control proposal, which includes an assault weapons ban and provisions on handguns and even "grandfathered weapons."
The letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston, was titled "No ma'am" and was first posted on CNN iReport on Dec. 27. The letter has since gone viral and has been shared extensively on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, as it seemingly has resonated with a segment of the American population.
Read Boston's entire "No ma'am" letter below and then share it with others:
Senator Dianne Feinstein,
I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government's right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma'am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.
I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
If you want to understand what is happening to our beloved country please watch this important movie. Please share it with everyone.
Al Gore's Current TV Rebuffs Advances by TheBlaze, Agrees to Sell Channel to Al Jazeera The Blaze | by Madeleine Morgenstern | Posted on January 2, 2013 at 5:39pm
Seeking to expand its presence in American television, al-Jazeera, the Qatar-owned news network, has agreed to buy Al Gore's low-rated Current TV, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but a person familiar with the matter said al-Jazeera paid a few hundred million dollars for Current TV. The network, which was co-founded by Mr. Gore and entrepreneur Joel Hyatt in 2005, has recently been struggling with low ratings.
The multimillion dollar deal came after Current rebuffed TheBlaze when it approached the network about buying the channel last year. According to a source close to the negotiations, officials at TheBlaze were told that "the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view."

AMERICAN JEWS AND CHRISTIAN EVANGELICALS: IRRECONCILABLE ENEMIES OR INEVITABLE ALLIES?
Michael Medved is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host and bestselling author. His daily show is heard by over 3.75 million people across the country. Born in Philadelphia, Michael won admission to Yale at age 16 as a National Merit Scholar. He majored in American History and graduated with honors, before attending Yale Law School, where his classmates included Bill and Hillary Clinton. Michael wrote his first bestseller at age 26 - "What Really Happened to the Class of '65?" - a skeptical reconsideration of the "counterculture" of the 1960's that became a weekly TV series on NBC.
Many American Jews distrust and even fear the rise of the evangelical Christianity. They see this religious movement as a threat to the survival of Judaism in the United States and to the continuance of a society that values pluralism and religious liberty. On the other hand increasing numbers of American Jews view evangelicals as natural allies, not just when it comes to support of Israel, but on a range of social issues here in the U.S. In this provocative presentation, Michael Medved will explain where Jews and Christians already agree, and where they can never agree, in their participation in the ongoing battles shaping American society.

Why Did He Kill All Those Children?
January 2, 2013
by Phyllis Schlafly
The idea for massacring children in an elementary school or shooting up a mall filled with Christmas shoppers does not come from reading books, watching movies, or listening to music. Does the incitement for such unspeakable acts come from hours of role-playing violent video games?
Last night, I voted to make lower taxes permanent for 99% of American taxpayers, ending a climate of uncertainty which has plagued 8th District families and small businesses for months.
In August 2012, I voted to extend tax rates and other tax provisions for all taxpayers - a measure which the Senate refused to take up. Throughout the fiscal cliff debate, my number one priority has been to maintain the lowest rates possible for the greatest number of taxpayers.
As the only Member of Congress to introduce an amendment to the compromise Senate bill aimed at providing greater protections for small businesses, I continue to pursue pro-growth policies that will generate a real and lasting recovery.
I will continue to fight for reduced spending while protecting and strengthening entitlements. For example, successful efforts like my bill this week to maintain the pay freeze for federal government employees - including members of Congress and the Administration - are a step in the right direction.
Halting Obama's Congressional Pay Hike
Last week, with the prospect of the fiscal cliff looming large and Congress working through the last minute to avert financial and economic disaster, President Obama felt it was appropriate to grant pay raises across the federal government. I could not allow this to go unchallenged, so I introduced legislation which extends the existing pay freeze for federal workers through Calendar year 2013.
At a time when American families are tightening their belts and businesses are reducing salaries to make ends meet, I believe that the federal government must lead by example.
While I will continue to protect and preserve pay increases for the men and women in the United States military,I knew that we must reject this unnecessary and inappropriate raise for Congress, the Administration and the federal bureaucracy.
Higher taxes from Obamacare are coming and tax rates for certain businesses and individuals are going to be going up. The private sector and small businesses are being asked to sacrifice. What kind of a message does it send if at the same time Members of Congress, the administration, and the federal government get a pay raise? That is exactly the wrong message at exactly the wrong time.
I now urge my colleagues in the Senate and Administration to support this bill to send the American people the message that public sector and elected officials do not consider themselves exempt from the economic realities of our time.
Speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives
I spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon in support of my legislation, the Congressional Pay Freeze Act. My legislation extends the existing pay freeze for federal workers through Calendar year 2013. President Obama on December 27th, 2012 issued an Executive Order rescinding this pay freeze, including for Members of Congress and his own Administration.
You can view the speech here and the text is included below:
Mr. Speaker, The American people do not get an automatic pay increase - and neither should Members of Congress!
My bill, the Congressional Pay Freeze and Fiscal Responsibility Act, gives us the chance to show the American people that - at least in this regard - we do get it.
Freeze salaries now, including for Members of Congress, at current levels.
Mr. Speaker, there are too few opportunities in this town where issues bring us together.
The President has done that for us this week.
Unbelievably, in the middle of the talks this week on tax rates and sequestration revision, The President has proposed pay increases for Members of Congress - and has done so by Executive Order dated December 28th.
I have to say that no one in this town saw this coming!
And very few think it is warranted. The Congress has not produced a federal budget in three (3) years - because the Senate refuses to act. The last thing they need is a pay increase. In fact, the No Budget, No Pay Act should be law of this land. If you don't produce a budget resolution within the time required - you don't get paid. And if you pass a Budget late - you don't get paid retroactively!
Mr. Speaker - this is common sense. But common sense just isn't too common around here. And there is no sense at all in the President's Executive Order to increase pay.
Not now. Not under these circumstances. Not in this economy.
It is an action taken unilaterally by the President - which has earned an immediate and almost universal scorn. As well it should.
As we close out 2012, There are too many issues still unresolved.
There are too few instances of accomplishment or results.
Our economy is still at risk and the American people are still struggling.
American Workers have given all they can. Have we?
I am glad to see that so many in this Chamber have co-sponsored this measure.
And in the past 24 hours, I have seen comments from Democrats and Republicans expressing outrage at the President's unilateral Executive Order.
A Democrat in the Senate called it, "The Worst Idea Ever"
A Democrat in this House called it "Inappropriate"
So, extend the pay freeze for all federal workers' - including elected officials. This bipartisan policy was originally put in place by our Democrat colleagues because they recognized that with the pain being felt across our economy could not be reserved for the private sector. Two years ago, President Obama announced a pay freeze over concerns about high annual deficits and a growing national debt.
Federal workers in my district and across the country are hard working individuals. They deserve fair compensation Mr. Speaker and we are not trying today to punish or force unnecessary hardship on civil servants. But taxpayers should not be taking home less than federal workers. Recent studies have shown that the average Federal worker earns 20% more than a private worker in a similar occupation.
The disparity is even wider when benefits are taken into account. We have to recognize that over recent years there has been a growing disparity between the compensation for federal workers and their counterparts in the private sector. Quite frankly that sends exactly the wrong message at exactly the wrong time.
The President's own debt commission, which he has thus far been ignored by the president, recommended a three year pay freeze for federal government workers. If it would have been adopted at the time, that pay freeze would have lasted almost through 2013; the same amount of time that this bill proposes.
Of course we all agree that the men and women of our nation's military deserve a pay increase while our nation is at war. This bill carves out members of the armed forces and they will continue to be eligible for the pay increases that have been supported by me and a strong bipartisan majority of my colleagues.
Mr. Speaker we hear a lot of talk from some of our colleagues about shared sacrifice.
I urge my colleagues to support this bill to send the American people the message that public sector and elected officials do not consider themselves exempt from the economic realities of our time.
I yield back.
RedState Morning Briefing
For January 3, 2013
1.Have Republicans Boxed Themselves Into a Government Shutdown?
First of all, I hope so.
But have they boxed themselves in?
Consider that the fiscal cliff deal is playing badly with lots of folks, not just partisan Republicans and partisan Democrats. Congress playing brinksmanship with nothing to show for it really is aggravating the American public.
If both sides are going to play at brinksmanship, at some point the base of the parties and the American public are going to expect more than last minute can kicking and f-bombs. More importantly, the Republican base feels very slighted by its leadership. Mitch McConnell played lead negotiator to a tax hike that, ironically, raises taxes least on people making $200,000.00 to $400,000.00. The middle class, because of the payroll tax kicking back in, will feel a bigger tax increase according to the left and it looks like they are right.
Saying it wasn't a tax increase because the vote happened on January 1st is not going to cut it with middle class Americans who are going to see their taxes go up.
I will not try to convince any conservative that the final fiscal cliff deal that passed the Senate with only a few dissenting votes and needed Democratic votes to pass the House with a divided GOP caucus is a good deal, nor that it is the best deal available under the circumstances. It is, however, important to remember that this was a deal negotiated under just about the worst possible conditions: the president freshly re-elected, the largest tax hike in American history set to trigger automatically in the absence of a deal, the GOP leadership divided among itself and estranged from its grassroots/activist base, which itself was divided on how best to proceed. Republicans have illustrated dramatically why poker is not a team sport.
Paul Ryan was a great pick for Mitt Romney's Vice President. He's a young, articulate guy the left has tried and failed repeatedly to paint as some sort of heartless monster. His "Ryan Plan" has some great points in it, though it is not as bold as the left would have you believe or as Ryan's acolytes would have you believe.
But this fiscal cliff vote gives me some ground to make a point again that I have made repeatedly.
4.'House GOP in Disarray' Isn't Just Liberal Media Spin
Many Republicans are trying ton convince themselves that they will make up ground on the spending side of the equation come the debt ceiling fight. Mr. Obama says he will not negotiate, but he is going to have to.
The problem for the GOP is that its House leadership is working at cross purposes and really is in the disarray the "liberal media" keeps saying. Look no further than Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy voting no on the plan.
In a turn of events that should be a surprise only if you've never heard of Mitch McConnell before, the Senate - with one heck of a lot of Senate Republicans, including nominal conservatives, agreeing - just decided to hike taxes on small businesses and skip any spending cuts of any kind, and over a third of the Republican caucus including the Speaker agreed. Indeed, if the CBO is to be believed, the party managed a feat of foot-shooting of which even most Republicans never dare dream, and managed to increase spending instead. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

As the edge of the fiscal cliff approaches and then recedes, like an imagined desert isle appearing and disappearing admit the waves, the process that has brought America into the tyranny of debt goes on. The national debt, like our annual deficits, is a symptom of the true problem.
Irresponsible behavior is a symptom of irresponsible thinking. Bad choices come from the failure to understand consequences. Power is not just an aphrodisiac, it numbs one to the understanding that there even are consequences.
The centers of people in a nation are the last to feel the cold and their decisions are insulated from their consequences by power and comfort. Even as they warn about the danger, they are too far away from it to truly feel it. It is a shadow to them. An idea. Not a reality.
To the powerful, power is the only reality. And the limits of their own power are unknown to them. The possession of power is a constraint that prevents the possessor from seeing its limits.
We live in a world that has lost touch with the very idea of hard choices. That even in the richest and most prosperous country in the world, you still have to choose one or the other. That you can't have you cake and eat it too. But as the hard edges of reason have blurred into the haze of wishful thinking, the idea of mutually incompatible choices also fades away. Soon there are no choices, only options.
Our government has vanished into that haze. A haze in which our leaders actually believe that we can be tough and kind, strong and beloved and spending as much as we want without worrying about where it's coming from. The haze extends to our policies which assume that we can win wars without offending anyone, and spend as much money as we want without recouping it in some way. In a system built on two party stalemates usually broken by compromises, it's all too easy to believe that you can give and take, without ever having to choose. One or the other.
A country whose leadership does not understand the concept of mutually incompatible choices is doomed to have its political structure decay into tyranny and its economy stagnate and finally collapse. Without the understanding that some choices are hard and fast things, success becomes impossible. When you think that you can do everything, you end up being unable to do anything. When every option is on the table, then no option is on the table. And if the political leadership cannot make those choices, then it will be replaced by another form of leadership that will solve the problem with tyranny. This has happened before. And it will happen again.

Iran has infiltrated a team of Quds Force terrorist leaders into the United States to attack from within in 2013, according to a source.
The source within the office of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Islamic regime, said the team is to create instability in America through terrorism should the U.S. fail to accept the regime's illicit nuclear program, increase sanctions, confront Iran militarily or intervene in the Syrian civil war.
Members of the team, no more than 10 Quds Force officers, each lead cells totaling about 50 terrorists already in the U.S.
The source is risking his life not only to reveal the terror operation but to warn that Iran is pursuing its nuclear bomb program around the clock from several secret sites.
Details of the terror plot, meant to disrupt the West, have been passed on to U.S. officials, who are taking countermeasures.
The source said the team members, unlike the alleged Iranian operative Manssor Arbabsiar, who was arrested in a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington, D.C. in 2011, are highly trained and sophisticated.
The team leaders are all senior Revolutionary Guard officers who were recruited for this specific mission nine years ago on the recommendation of the Quds Force commander, Qassem Soleimani, and with the approval of security advisers to Khamenei.
Some of these individuals held high-level posts before joining the mission. One served as the security officer in the supreme leader's office, another was a member of the special forces for intelligence and security in charge of protecting regime officials, two were in charge of security of ground and air transportation, another was a commander of recruiting assets, and others had experience in security and intelligence.
Most of the team members have been in America for a year; a few were successfully placed here about five years ago.
The families of the team members are financially supported by the regime, but team members are financially supported through various means as they do not maintain any contact with Iran.
Two wealthy Iranian businessmen in Iran with ties in Europe are used to finance the team; one routinely travels to the U.S.
One well-established Iranian businessman in America who often travels to Iran was approached by the Quds Force for his collaboration in return for incentives in Iran. He acts as the sponsor of the team, transfers cash to team members, hosts meetings at his residence and passes on information from the regime to the team. He also takes care of any legal issues, leases, contracts and such.
Information and pictures of potential targets have been submitted for Khamenei's approval, the source added. They include high-voltage towers to create blackouts, cell towers, water supplies, public transportation and various other buildings belonging to the Defense Department and military.
The source said the planned attacks could be greater than what happened on 9/11 and that in the last phase of the attack, al-Qaida operatives will also be involved.
After Osama bin Laden's death, Khamenei has taken a greater role in leadership on the collaboration with al-Qaida, and according to the source, four top al-Qaida commanders visit Khamenei every two months.
The plan is that if by next six months America does not accept Iran's nuclear program and either increases sanctions or a military confrontation occurs, the assets have been ordered to carry out their mission. The regime feels it must act by then because current sanctions, which have already had a serious effect on Iran's economy, could spark civilian rioting.
As reported in the Washington Times on Oct. 5, a secret memo by the regime's Intelligence Ministry warned that deteriorating economic conditions from international sanctions had greatly increased the possibility of an uprising and urged them to take appropriate action.
The United States has set a March deadline for Iran to comply with International Atomic Energy Agency demands on its nuclear program or face much harsher measures.
The regime believes, the source said, that if the U.S. fails to accept Iran's nuclear program, Israel will be much more likely to attack its nuclear facilities and military installations.
Previously an exclusive report in WND revealed that terror cells of the Islamic regime were on high alert to attack targets in America. Gen. Massoud Jazayeri, deputy head of Iran's armed forces, stated that, "In the face of any attack, we will have a crushing response. In that case, we will not only act in the boundaries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, no place in America will be safe from our attacks."
Iranian officials also see the possible overthrow of Syrian President Bashar Assad as a red line, and with the looming confrontation over their nuclear program, they have taken several measures, one of which is to retaliate against Israel through several fronts and in coordination with their proxies, such as Hezbollah. As reported in WND, 170 ballistic missiles have been pre-targeted on Tel Aviv alone, some with biological warheads. And an attack on America from within would create economic havoc on the fragile U.S. economy.
The source warned that the IAEA has no idea that the Islamic regime is actively working on its nuclear bomb program at secret sites, that it has even enriched uranium to over 90 percent - weaponization grade - and that with the help of North Korea, it is working on a plutonium bomb.
The assumption that Iran is far from accomplishing its goals is a hoax, the source warned. The regime next year will make operational intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the U.S. Armed with nuclear weapons, it would be too late for the world, he said.

It's happening in many European countries as well, where Jews are once again in grave danger and Judeophobia has become the common currency of politics.
Jews in Denmark have just been warned by Israeli officials not to appear publicly wearing Jewish religious symbols such as yarmulkes or stars of David in order to avoid increasing anti-Israel and anti-Semitic altercations. "We advise Israelis who come to Denmark and want to go to the synagogue to wait to don their skull caps until they enter the building and not to wear them in the street, irrespective of whether the areas they are visiting are seen as being safe," said Israel's ambassador to Denmark, Arthur Avnon.
Got that? To be identifiable as a Jew in public in Europe is to invite violence. There are European areas in its bigger cities where you cannot go outside looking like a Jew - it's like being in Gaza.
In the last few weeks, an Israeli representative of the Magen David Adom was attacked at Copenhagen Central Station, while in central Copenaghen Jews who were wearing a kippah were have been phisically and verbally attacked.
An elderly Israeli man was assaulted by a group of Arabic-looking men when he ate a kebab at Nørrebro. They kicked the victim several times and tore his necklace, on which a visible star of David was hanging, off.
That's why today most of Danish Jews think twice before deciding whether to wear a necklace with a Star of David on it.
In the enlightened Europe of today, there is witch hunt against any authentic Jew with a beard and a skullcap.
Jewish students have been advised not to wear a kippa in the streets in Germany either. The Jewish Abraham Geiger Theological College in Potsdam advises its rabbis against wearing a kippah in public, while the orthodox Or Avner school in Berlin has issued similar guidelines.
Whenever its pupils go on trips to the zoo or the museum, Jewish pupils are warned: "Speak German, not Hebrew, put a baseball cap over your kippah so you don't give stupid people something to get annoyed about." Camouflaged in this way, young Jews travel on Berlin's metro trains. The rector of the school has explained that "it is safer to not appear to be a Jewish person".
A few days ago Finland's Jewish community was advised not to wear the skullcap in public for fear of anti-Semitic attacks.
Gun Opponents Should Learn What The Founder's Meant When They Wrote The Second Amendment
Every individual with a sense of humanity detests seeing families destroyed, innocent children sacrificed, and promising lives snuffed out, as witnessed at Sandy Hook School. The argument that reducing the number of guns will produce a safer society beguiles the public, promotes politicians, and fails to hold the perpetrator accountable for their actions.
Disarming innocent people does not make innocent people safer. Yet, the mob is even willing to punishing innocent people for the acts of the wicked.
While gun rights supporters assert that the right of the people to keep and bear arms, as found in the Second Amendment of our Constitution, is an individual right like the freedom of speech or religion, and has been supported by the Supreme Court of our nation. Gun opponents assert that the right pertains only to collective bodies such as the militia, the military, police or National Guard.
The Washington Post asserts, as a gun opponent, that "[T]he sale, manufacture, and possession of handguns ought to be banned...[W]e do not believe the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep them."1
Believing that our Constitution offers no protection for individual gun ownership, gun opponents therefore encourage efforts to restrict or ban citizens access to firearms, particularly handguns. Even United States Senator Diane Feinstein, (D-CA) in her forthcoming legislation is planning to outlaw 120 firearms.2

Federal land grabs have been threatening the agricultural industry in America for decades. Now with plans such as: the introduction of free roaming bison, creation of more National Monuments, the implementation of the Wildlands Project, and other excessive regulations, they are forcing more and more farmers and ranchers off their own land. This threatens not only their way of life and their children's futures, but also the economic situation in their immediate area and across the country. This is an issue of private property, if they can take it from ranchers in Montana, they can take it from you.
On November 29, 2012 Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar decided to let the lease run out on the small family run business Drake's Bay Oyster Farm. Since 1934 Drake's Bay Oyster Co. has been a staple of the rural community on Point Reyes National Seashore. Not only will the employees of the farm lose their jobs, they will also lose their homes which sit on the property and are part of their compensation. The farm is being closed because the interior department is designating the area around Drake's Bay as a wilderness area. Defend Rural America and Dr. Corey Goodman are standing alongside Drake's Bay Oyster Co. in their fight to renew the lease on their business and maintain their private property.
The story of one harassed farmer has lit a spark in this Northern Virginia County where County Supervisors, working hand in hand with environmental forces, are throwing a slew of new regulations at local farmers and rural businesses - especially wineries. If left to stand these victims will be put out of business and property rights diminished. But there are those in the county not willing to take this lying down. Activists have started their own online newspaper to counter the local established paper which will print nothing more than the county government/environmental party line. Now, Martha Boneta (the farmer who was singled out by the county to start all of this) has been forced to shut down her little organic farm store because the county has mysteriously decided not to renew her business license (while fining her $5,000 and perpetrating and IRS audit). Martha and other local activists are choosing to stand up against this locally-grown tyranny and they are making progress. State Delegate Scott Lingamfelter has introduced an amendment to the state's Right to Farm Act, which would essentially make county governments and their officials liable for regulations that violate property rights and commerce. Interesting, the bill calls for fines against the county government and officials in the same amount they would charge a citizen for violation of their illegal regulations. Finally, the little guys will have a weapon to fire back at arrogant governments and their green buddies.
ABC News | "Hundreds of residents in New York's Westchester and Rockland counties were surprised to find their names and addresses listed on a map posted by The Journal News on Sunday. Users can click any dot on the map to see which of their neighbors has a permit for a gun." The newspaper should follow up on how many of these houses are hit by burglars. I would bet that would-be thieves will use this site to know exactly which houses to stay away from. What an asinine thing for a paper to do; they are trying to tar gun owners as criminals. This is our upside-down world where right is wrong, bad is good and the criminals are the ultra-wealthy global elites.

The two Mommies, Mommy Angela Bauer and her honey Mommy Jennifer made contact with the donor William Marotta, through Craig's List saying, "We are foster and adoptive parents and now we desire to share a pregnancy and birth together."
Presumably using something like a sterile turkey baster, Mommy Jennifer conceived a baby girl. Since all had signed a "legal" document excusing Marotta of any obligation to financially support the baby, the two Mommies thought they would live happily ever after. The other horse is obviously his love of Sharia Law. He told Putin the Constitution was dead in 2009 - and now he has the flexibility he assured the Russians. Would the title "Supreme Caliph" suit him? The Pakistani Minister of Industry thought so.
Utopias such as Greece, Libya and Mexico are possible for America too, if only we would just junk that evil Constitution. I am sure that history offers all sorts of examples where people without such evil documents protected free speech and religious worship -- out of "respect." Ask Socrates, Jesus, six million Jews, 20 million Russians, or those with eyeglasses during the days of the Khmer Rouge.
The fiscal cliff bill passed 257-167 at 11 p.m., sending the deal to President Obama's desk for a signature. The total included 151 Republican "nays" and 16 Democratic objectors. In an hour of late-night debate, only House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) stood up in stark opposition to the bill.
First, it was Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) voting against the fiscal cliff deal because it added to the deficit. Now one of the other Democratic "no" votes in the upper chamber -- from Joe Biden's home state, no less -- says he rejected the deal because it didn't tackle entitlement reform.
Well, it sure beats talking about Benghazi. A few days after the (acting) chief spook wrote his review of "Zero Dark Thirty," the Agency itself has returned to its new favorite subject, enlightening its readers about their latest deep thinking about Hollywood. Tonight's vote on the Senate-brokered deal to avert the "fiscal cliff" may set the stage for a Leadership challenge when the new Congress convenes at noon on Thursday. Almost two-thirds of the House GOP caucus voted against the Senate plan which provided for steep tax hikes and increased spending. Just 85 Republicans went along with an overwhelming majority of the Democrat caucus to pass the plan out of the House. Among these were Speaker John Boehner and Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan. Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy broke with Leadership and voted against the plan.
The House voted to pass the Senate deal by a vote of 257-167. 85 Republicans voted for the plan as well as 172 Democrats. 65% if the GOP caucus rejected the package, while 90% of Democrats voted for it. Speaker Boehner had long promised that only a deal that had support of a "majority of the majority" would be brought to the floor. He broke that promise tonight. Boehner and Ryan chose, instead, to line up with the Democrat caucus to pass the tax-only deal.

Higher Taxes; More Debt?
There are conflicting headlines from the fiscal cliff deal that are causing considerable confusion and consternation. Many conservatives are outraged that Senate Republicans approved a plan that raises taxes at all. But it is important to remember that taxes would have gone up automatically across-the-board as of yesterday even without a deal. Other conservatives are seizing on a report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) that the deal increases the national debt by nearly $4 trillion over the next 10 years.
That figure is hokum. The Congressional Budget Office report assumed that all of the Bush tax cuts would expire, and that the government would reap a windfall in higher revenues as a result of these massive tax increases. By renewing 98% of the Bush tax cuts, the deal denied the government trillions of additional revenue. That is how the numbers crunchers come up with the $4 trillion increase in the debt.
Keep in mind that this is the same outfit that just six weeks ago predicted another recession and skyrocketing unemployment if Congress did nothing and allowed the Bush tax cuts to expire.
That's because higher taxes hurt economic growth, and that's why conservatives generally oppose tax increases. Taking money out of the pockets of small business owners and American families and sending it to Washington bureaucrats does nothing for the economy.
There are all kinds of reasons to oppose this compromise. But do not fall for the left-wing logic that considers tax cuts a form of government spending. That assumption begins with the belief that all money belongs to the government. The history of pro-growth tax reform measures is clear: Lower tax rates result in more economic growth, which in turn produces more revenue.
What's Next
The stock market celebrated the news of a fiscal cliff deal that preserved the overwhelming majority of the Bush tax cuts. The Dow has been up more than 200 points for most of the day. But the fiscal cliff fight is far from over.
It is worth pointing out that this deal raises only about $60 billion a year in additional revenue. That's less than half of what Obama originally demanded. Not surprisingly, he's demanding even more of your hard-earned money.
Congressional Republicans don't want the Pentagon to get hit by another wave of cuts from the sequestration deal. But according to a Los Angeles Times report, "As the price for lifting those defense cuts, White House officials have said, the president will demand another round of revenue (tax) increases."
So after holding the economy hostage to his demand for higher taxes, Obama is now going hold our national security hostage too.
Having conceded to higher taxes on the successful, most Republicans are saying "No more." Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) is one of the strongest fiscal conservatives in Congress. He grudgingly supported the compromise deal, as did other conservatives like Senators Tom Coburn (R-OK), Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Ron Johnson (R-WI).
Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rand Paul (R-KY), Charles Grassley (R-IA), Richard Shelby (R-AL) and Mike Lee (R-UT) voted against the deal, along with three Senate liberals. In the House, nearly two-thirds of Republicans opposed the deal, while 90% of Democrats supported it.
Explaining his vote this morning, Senator Toomey said, "We spared as many Americans as we possibly could from a tax increase." But he also said this:
"We're totally done. You can't solve this problem -- I don't care how much you raise taxes. ... We will only solve this problem when we finally get the spending under control. And the debt ceiling, and after that, the continuing resolution expiration, those are the vehicles that give us the opportunity to insist on making progress on the real problem."
Spending is the issue, as this chart shows. Savings of $60 billion a year in additional revenue is virtually meaningless when Obama is running deficits in excess of $1,000 billion a year.
But Obama has no solution beyond raising taxes again and again and again. Even as he celebrated this compromise deal and higher taxes on the "rich," he warned members of Congress that he would not negotiate on the debt ceiling, saying, "[W]hile I will negotiate over many things, I will not have another debate with this Congress over whether or not they should pay the bills that they've already racked up through the laws that they passed."
That's an odd statement to make when it seems obvious he's going to have to negotiate with Congress over the obvious problem -- debt and spending. Unless he's prepared to issue an executive order unilaterally raising the debt limit and creating a constitutional crisis in the process. It's also very hypocritical coming from a man who voted against raising the debt limit in 2006.
Back then Obama said, "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. ...America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." When Obama made that statement, Congress was debating raising the debt limit to $9 trillion. It is above $16 trillion today, and he is demanding more.
The Fight Over Gun Control
During a Sunday interview with Meet The Press host David Gregory, President Obama made it clear that he was getting ready for a big fight over legislation that would restrict your right to own a fire arm. I have no idea what his proposal will look like, but you can bet it will be more leftist drivel. Look no further than the lunacy that is prevailing in the Washington, D.C., suburbs.
A six year-old boy was suspended recently from Roscoe R. Nix Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland. Did he bring a gun to school in his lunch box? No. He was suspended merely for pointing his finger at another student and saying, "Pow."
Boys have been playing "Cowboys and Indians" or "Star Wars" playground games forever. But now a six year-old saying "Bang!" is a security threat?
A local newspaper in New York decided it was an urgent public service to publish the names and addresses of gun permit holders. Think about this for a moment. These folks have done nothing wrong. By definition they are law-abiding citizens.
Why should they be singled out for public scrutiny? By printing the names the paper told every thug and criminal in the area which homes are armed and which ones are not. Guess which ones are more likely to be robbed?
But there's more. In response to the considerable backlash the paper received, it has just posted ARMED GUARDS at its offices! So the paper's editors want the benefit of armed protection, but they just don't think anyone else deserves the right to protect themselves without having their names published.

Congress Approves Fiscal Cliff Deal
As you have probably heard by now, the House of Representatives passed a compromise bill last night to avert the worst effects of the fiscal cliff. Suffice it to say that people on the right and the left are unhappy with it. A lot of conservatives are upset because there are tax increases with virtually no spending cuts. Other cuts included in last year's sequester deal were delayed.
A lot of liberals are angry because it extends 98% of the Bush tax cuts, and mitigates onerous estate taxes that were set to take effect. Lefties like Paul Krugman, Howard Dean and Robert Reich are no doubt furious that the Bush tax cuts have been largely preserved.
Here is a quick summary of what is in the deal.
The top tax rate increases from 35% to 39.6% for individuals making $400,000 and married couples making $450,000.
Under this compromise, dividend and capital gains tax rates go up to 20% for those at the $400,000/$450,000 income levels.
In addition to these higher tax rates, personal exemptions will be limited for individuals making $250,000 and for families making $300,000. And the "Pease limitation" on deductions will be reimposed for individuals making $250,000 and families making $300,000.
The death tax (estate tax) will be 40% for estates valued at $5 million, and will be adjusted for inflation. Without this deal, the death tax would have been 55% on estates valued at $1 million.
The alternative minimum tax will be permanently adjusted for inflation, so Congress will no longer have to vote on a yearly AMT "patch."
In spite of all the media reporting, every worker and family will see a tax increase as their Social Security payroll taxes go up 2%. For many two-income middle class families, that means $2,000 less a year.
Don't Forget About Obamacare Taxes
While the media are fixated on this compromise bill, they have barely mentioned the trillion-dollar tax hike that is part of Obamacare. These huge tax increases on families and businesses are kicking in right now. Here is a partial list:
A new tax on medical devices ($20 billion)
Caps on Flexible Spending Accounts ($13 billion) -- This tax will hit families with children with special needs particularly hard.
A 3.8% tax on investment income ($113 billion)
Reduced Medical Itemized Deductions ($15 billion)
A 31% increase in Medicare Payroll Tax ($87 billion)
We will provide a more detailed report later today.
Are you one of the 'fiscal cliff' winners?
It must be fun to spend other people's money ...
The deal to avert the so-called fiscal cliff not only reduced Americans' paychecks and failed to rein in out-of-control spending, it delivered valuable goodies to Washington's favorite industries and pet projects ... including these kooky ones.
1st comes loss of power, then the explosions start
You've seen the warnings about an EMP attack, how it would shut down electronics so you couldn't manage your bank account or fill your car with gas ... but that's just the beginning.
Explosions, fires, disasters - turning on your toaster is the least of your worries.
For 50 years, Pulitzer-nominated columnist Donald Kaul has raged against guns, but after the Sandy Hook massacre, he says, it's time to declare the NRA a terrorist organization, kill gun owners and drag legislators who oppose gun control behind pickup trucks until they get the message.
I am bored with politics, refuse to pay attention to the news and am watching only True Crime TV shows and Turner Classic Movies these days. With the Democrats controlling the Senate and presidency, nothing good can possibly come out of Washington for at least another two years. So I thought I'd start the new year with something useful, like a short list of bad inventions.
Scott Rasmussen finds that most Americans, and especially most parents of school-age children, view the idea of armed guards in schools positively:
Fifty-four percent (54%) of American adults would feel safer if their child's school had an armed security guard. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 26% would feel safer if their child attended a school where no adults were allowed to have guns. Another 20% are undecided.
Among parents of school-aged children, support for armed guards is even higher. Sixty-two percent (62%) of such parents would feel safer with an armed security guard at the school, while 22% would feel safer if their child attended a gun-free school.
Feeling safer and being willing to pay for all those armed guards-there are somewhere around 100,000 public schools in the United States-are two different questions, of course. My own view is that authorizing and systematically encouraging teachers, administrators and custodians to be trained and armed makes much more sense. But in any event, it is noteworthy that most Americans do not share liberals' outrage at the suggestion that the cure for a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.
Everyone is adding up the balance sheet of the tax deal, and any assessment that uses standard GAAP methods will find that it is a textbook compromise-that is, it had something for everyone to like and hate. (By the way, "GAAP" in this context does not mean "Generally Accepted Accounting Principles." Heck, if the U.S. government used real GAAP, it would have been placed in receivership on about Day Two of the Obama presidency. Washington GAAP stands for "Government Approved Atrocious Policy.") We've already linked to people on both sides of the question. I'll just add that the most disappointed person in Washington right now has to be my old pal Norm Ornstein, because he's wedded to the view that the GOP is hopelessly obstructionist. Norm better hope the GOP gets its extremist mojo back by the time the debt ceiling expires in a couple of months.
There are some odd aspects of the denouement of the tax chapter of the story, which has several chapters to follow. In other words, our plunge over the fiscal cliff, however brief, had about it the same unreal peril as a person going over Niagara Falls in a heavily padded and shock-absorbent barrel: more threatening as a spectacle than in reality.
Some observations:
First, most of the folks lamenting the deal on the right are really lamenting that we lost the election. Guess what? This is what happens when you lose elections. I'm surprised the damage wasn't greater. In fact, the most startling thing to me is how much Obama and the Democrats gave away to reach the deal. I conclude from this that the White House was terrified of the sequester, not so much for the defense cuts, which liberals don't mind at all, but because so many of the Left's key constituencies rely upon discretionary spending that would be cut. If we went fully over the cliff, it might have been very difficult for Democrats to get back all of the discretionary spending they want and need. But all they got was a two-month deferral on the sequester, the prospect of which is unclear at the moment.
Second, even with the position of strength Obama had after the election, it is extraordinary how much he let Joe Biden give up for the sake of a deal, starting with tossing over the new $50 billion "stimulus" Obama wants that is really just a blue-state bailout. The overall size of the revenue package is remarkable for where it came out. As Conn Carroll points out, "Remember, Obama's first offer was for a $1.6 trillion tax hike and an infinite debt limit hike. Boehner countered with $800 billion. The final deal was for only $600 billion." This rather reminds me of Churchill's mordant line about the argument over battleships between the Exchequer and the Admiralty in 1909: "The Government asked for Four Dreadnoughts, the Admiralty wanted Six, so naturally we compromised at Eight." I'm amazed that Biden didn't hold out for some kind of treatment of the debt ceiling.
As Churchill reminded us about the difference between politics and war, in war you can only be killed once, while in politics you can be killed many times and still come back to fight another day. To switch metaphors, conservatives lost this hand, but played a band hand, dealt by a devastating election loss, about as well as could be expected short of running a huge risk that obstinacy would have swung public opinion quickly decisively around quickly. But bluffing works better in poker than in politics. The next hand looks better for Republicans if they can avoid demoralizing themselves with excessive self-criticism. Beyond the debt ceiling (which I think is only a limited opportunity), the preservation of so many stupid tax breaks and preferences means the ground is still fertile for sweeping pro-growth tax reform based on the idea of getting rid of special tax breaks and lowering rates across the board. I'm amazed that Obama didn't pocket Boehner's offer to raise revenue by cutting tax breaks, and then demand higher rates on the rich on top of that-a fight he probably would have won right now. While he may yet try for reducing tax breaks in a few months, I doubt he will succeed. This was his window, and it is likely now closed. This may turn out to have been a major blunder on Obama's part over the next four years and beyond.
Bonus feature: Yuval Levin's chart shows how unserious this deal was in terms of reducing the deficit-
The good folks at the Energy Information Administration have produced this stunning 22-second video that shows the boom in natural has drilling in Pennsylvania from 2005 to April 2012. While you watch this explosion of prosperity for the Keystone state and contemplate with glee the anguish this is causing environmentalists, keep in mind that next-door New York has continued to ban most natural gas exploration and production, which not only deprives the Empire state of economic activity, but has bid of the prices of gas leases on private land in Pennsylvania. Think of it as Gov. Andrew Cuomo's wealth-transfer-to-Pennsylvania policy.
Meanwhile, the gas boom is not just causing heartburn to Green Weenies here in the U.S. According to a new report just out from the International Energy Agency, the natural gas boom in America is-are your ready?-leading to increased coal consumption in Europe, some of it additional imports of cheap American coal. The IEA predicts European coal consumption will rise by 10 percent or more over the next decade. Double-win! Here's the key slide from the IEA report, and savor the headline, "US shale gas switches on coal in Europe":
With the "fiscal cliff" averted, the Democratic Senate will turn its attention to attacking the filibuster. I wrote about this issue here. As I explained:
Republicans alone cannot prevent the Democrats from changing the Senate rules pertaining to the filibuster. In theory they can because under Senate rules any rule change requires a two-thirds majority. However, the Democrats apparently intend to violate that rule by pretending, contrary to what the rules say, that Senate rules do not continue in operation from one Congress to the next.
Thus, next month [January 2013], at the very beginning of the 113th Congress, Harry Reid is expected to claim that there are no Senate rules yet. He will then move to adopt a rule by which cloture can be invoked by a simple majority, instead of a super-majority of 60 votes. And he will claim that this new rule can be passed by a simple majority. Reid can then effectuate his change to the filibuster rules without a single Republican vote, and can even afford to lose a few Democrats.
Hoping to head off this move, a bipartisan group of senators has suggested changes to Senate procedural rules that they hope will cause anti-filibuster Democrats to back away from the "nuclear option" described above. Eight Senators are involved, four Democrats - Carl Levin, Chuck Schumer, Mark Pryor, and Ben Cardin - and four Republicans - John McCain, Lamar Alexander, Jon Kyl (who won't be part of the new Senate), and John Barrasso.
In essence, their proposal would would allow the majority leader to avoid the filibuster on motions to proceed. In other words, the filibuster would no longer be available at the front-end to prevent consideration of legislation. In exchange, the minority would be guaranteed the ability to offer at least some amendments. Currently, Harry Reid routinely blocks amendments through a practice known as "filling the tree."
The compromise would also include other adjustments designed to favor Democrats (for now) and to make Harry Reid's job easier. Filibusters wouldn't be available to prevent legislation from going to conference or to block some presidential nominations. In addition, more effort would be required of those conducting a filibuster. Under modern practice, a Senator can "filibuster" without appearing on the Senate floor.
The proposed changes aren't unreasonable on the merits. But neither were they unreasonable on the merits when Republicans controlled the Senate, and Democrats used the filibuster in the same ways they find so intolerable now.
The real argument for the Gang of 8 proposal is to head off the "nuclear option," which would pave the way for the Senate to pass all sorts of lefty legislation - e.g., card check, amnesty for illegal immigrants, onerous environmental laws, and "civil rights" legislation that further erodes the ability of employers to hire and promote based on merit rather than race. That's why a broad coalition of nearly 50 left-wing and labor organizations responded with howls to the compromise filibuster proposal.
Left-wing howls notwithstanding, I suspect that a compromise along the lines proposed by the Levin-McCain group will be adopted. Reid knows that any legislation he rams through under the nuclear option will be dead on arrival in the Republican House. So I expect him to take, for now, what McCain and the others are offering and save the nuclear option for 2015, if the 2014 elections go his way.
UPDATE: Politico reports that Harry Reid will delay until later this month the decision on whether to go "nuclear." He will do so through a "circuitous procedure" that purports to keep the Senate in its "opening legislative day" until he decides what to do about the filibuster.
By Reid's standard of running the Senate, the filibuster is one of its more logical procedures.

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called it "a happy start to a new year." That probably tells you all you need to know about the fiscal cliff deal that passed the House last night.
The bill-which President Obama has promised to sign, though he took off for Hawaii again after the vote-has a 10 to 1 ratio of tax increases to spending cuts. This is the President's version of a "balanced" approach.
In addition to tax increases on Americans making more than $250,000 a year, the bipartisan deal will actually raise taxes on the vast majority of American workers. How? The payroll tax "holiday" has ended. The Wall Street Journal calculates that the "typical U.S. family earning $50,000 a year" will lose "an annual income boost of $1,000."
Meanwhile, the higher tax rates will hit small businesses and investors-which is grim news for a country in need of new jobs.
"It is the small businesses that employ the most workers who will pay the higher rates," explains Heritage's Curtis Dubay. "These tax hikes on investment will further dampen investment and result in even less job creation. This is more bad news for the 12 million unemployed Americans."
While the President touted a "balance" of tax hikes and spending cuts, the truth is that the bill increases government spending by about $330 billion.
Though Congress and the President have known for two years that they would have to do something about all the expiring tax rates, they waited until after the deadline had passed. This resulted in lawmaking for which "irresponsible" is not a strong enough word.
The Senate voted without knowing the cost of the bill-the Congressional Budget Office had not even had time to go through it.
The legislation passed both chambers of Congress within a 24-hour period on a holiday, which meant that Members of Congress-much less the American people-did not have time to find out what was in the 157-page bill.
Business Insider notes that all of the new tax rates are "'permanent,' meaning that Congress would have to agree to change them. This is a big deal. Almost every fiscal agreement reached by Congress since the Bush tax cuts of 2001 has been scheduled to phase out at a future date."
After all the damage this deal has done, Congress isn't through yet. Well, this Congress is-the outgoing lawmakers make their exit on Thursday, and the new Congress will be coming in. It will face the real consequences of the across-the-board budget cuts to defense known as sequestration, which this deal postponed for two months.
It will also face the U.S. debt limit. President Obama said last night that he is in no mood to get into another debt limit fight-even though that is inevitable.
"While I will negotiate over many things, I will not have another debate with this Congress over whether they will pay the bills they've already racked up," Obama said.
But that debate is coming. This time, rather than grandstanding, Obama must deliver on his promise of a "balanced approach," now that he has locked in his class warfare tax hikes. That means reforms to rein in entitlement spending in particular. The $650 billion fiscal cliff distracted from the $48 trillion looming fiscal crisis-the long-term funding obligations of Social Security and Medicare.
Without spending cuts and real entitlement reforms, that fiscal iceberg remains dead ahead.
During 2012, virtually every aspect of American life, from caloric intake to dishwasher efficiency, was subjected to government meddling.
Most of these rules increase the cost of living, others hinder job creation, and many erode freedom. Not all regulations are unwarranted, of course, but increasingly, the rules imposed by the government have less to do with health and safety and more to do with whether government or individuals get to make basic pocketbook and lifestyle decisions that affect them. And it is not just the regulators who are to blame.
New fuel-efficiency standards issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency will increase the average cost of a new car by $3,000 by 2025. Furthermore, consumers are unlikely to realize the projected fuel savings used to justify these standards, and the new standards will further constrain consumer choice.
Ongoing negotiations over pay and benefits between the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) and U.S. port operators highlights the economic risks when unions monopolize labor markets. They also remind us that imports do, in fact, create jobs.
About The Heritage Foundation Founded in 1973, The Heritage Foundation is the nation's most broadly supported public policy organization. Heritage created the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies in 2001 to educate government officials, the media and the public about the Constitution, legal principles and how they affect public policy.
The Masses are in need of regulation, and with the unanimous election of Comrade President Barack Barackovich Obama, the Party has been able to harness the ardent desires of the People for greater implementation of Socialist doctrine.
Regulation and laws free the People from worrying about making bad decisions that have consequences. By following the regulations set forth by the Party, workers and peasants of America will not have to be concerned about making decisions that may lead to mistakes that will be inconvenient or prevent them from receiving their fair share of social benefits.
Those without proper education are ignorant of the benefits of freedom through regulation.
