New Army Manual Orders Soldiers Not To Criticize Taliban, pedophilia, "anything related to Islam" or "advocate for women's rights" - Atlas Shrugs
The new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other Islamic things.
Mass beheadings, gendercide, gassing of girls' schools, mass slaughter of non-believers and less than devout Muslims, attacks on US soldiers, acid attacks on women, brutal burka enforcement ..... must not be criticzed. So speaketh the caliph in the White House. He is stalking these anti-humans for peace, after all.
Bloody hell, bring our boys home. Now.

How can any America hold our heads high under this monster?

New Army Manual Orders Soldiers Not To Criticize Taliban Here is a strong indicator that the Obama Administration's crusade to appease Islam has gone too far; a new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other outrageous things. It gets better; the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture- not Taliban infiltration-is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces. The soon-to-be-released Army handbook is still being drafted, but a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article that should infuriate the American taxpayers funding the never-ending war on terror. The manual is being created because someone with authority bought the theory that cultural insensitivity is driving insider attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

Vatican Calls for World Government and a New World Order
By Andrew Puhanic | theintelhub.com December 11, 2012
The leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI, has called for the establishment of World Government and a New World Order.
In a speech made at the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace on Monday December 3 2012, the Pope called for the "construction of a world community, with a corresponding authority," to serve the "common good of the human family".
As a means of defending global peace and justice, the pope's vision for the establishment of World Government and a New World Order is supposedly not to create a new superpower, but a new governing body that offers to those (politicians) who are responsible for making decisions, criteria for judgment and practical guidelines.
The Pope was quoted as saying:

Medical companies brace for 'devastating' ObamaCare tax, prepare for layoffs FoxNews.com | By Judson Berger | Published December 13, 2012
Medical companies across the US prepare for 'devastating' ObamaCare tax starting Jan. 1, with many expecting they will have to lay off workers.
Andre DiMino has been running medical device company ADM Tronics since his father, who founded the decades-old firm, died in 2001. He's never laid off anybody. "These people are like family with us," he said. The boss might not be able to hold out much longer. Come Jan. 1, an ObamaCare-tied tax specific to his industry is expected to go into effect. Though the Obama administration has downplayed the impact, DiMino calls it "devastating." "I think after all of these decades of not laying people off, I think we may have to face that," DiMino told FoxNews.com. He predicted he might have to immediately lay off three people in his manufacturing division and possibly more after that.

Marine Double Amputee 'Humiliated' to Point of Tears on Delta Flight Gets Helping Hand From Fellow Vets The Blaze | by Tiffany Gabbay | Posted on December 13, 2012 at 10:42pm
"I have been flying with Delta for a gazillion years and this crew treated Chris worse than you'd treat any thing, not even any body." That was the opening line of retired Army Lt. Col. Keith Gafford, during a phone interview about the egregious treatment on Delta Airlines of fellow veteran, Marine Lance Cpl. Christian Brown, who is now a double amputee following severe injuries acquired while serving in Afghanistan.
"I did 27 years in the military. I have seen a lot of things and have seen a lot of guys die, but I have never seen a Marine cry," added Gafford. "What the kid said was, 'I have given everything that I can give and this is the way I am being treated? This is how I will be treated for the rest of my life?'"
Gafford's stern words came in defense of Brown, who just last Sunday was "humiliated" to the point of tears during a Delta flight from Atlanta to Washington. According to the Washington Post, the Marine was treated disrespectfully and clumsily when he was wheeled to the very back of the plane.
To make matters worse, retired Army Col. Nickey Knighton, who along with Gafford were on board at the time provided a detailed and scathing "customer care" report to Delta, after others vets attempted to move Brown from coach to a first class seat offered by another flyer, but were refused by the in-flight crew. WaPo provides context including the fact that Brown was ill with a 104 degree temperature at the during the flight:

'You're Going to Do This to Her?': Wheelchair-Bound Child Sobs as TSA Detains Her for Nearly 1 Hour - Then Released With No Explanation The Blaze | by Jonathon M. Seidl | Posted on December 14, 2012 at 8:01am
"It was frightening. I kinda got mad."
That's how 12-year-old Shelbi Walser explains her experience going through a TSA checkpoint at the Dallas DFW airport on Sunday. Shelbi, who is wheelchair-bound, was held for nearly an hour after an agent said she tested positive for bomb residue. The young girl was on her way to Florida for a rare medical treatment because she lives with a genetic bone disorder.
"I said, 'What do you mean? What did you test her for?' 'Oh she tested positive for explosive residue.' Okay... at that point you would think they would test her wheelchair, but they did nothing. Everything just seemed to spiral out," Shelbie's mom, Tammy, told KDFW-TV.
The orderal lasted about 45 minutes, and Tammie eventually got out her phone to record what was going on. That's when she captured Shelbie crying.
"I want to go to Florida," Shelbie can be heard saying. Tammie was kept away from close contact with her daughter, and the young girl was screened in plain view. One official can be heard speaking gently and trying to calm her.

Tell Leadership You OPPOSE Expansion of the U Visa Program!
During this lame duck session, the open-borders lobby is pushing harder than ever for Congress to expand the U visa program. The U visa program was originally intended to help victims of domestic violence cooperate in the prosecution of crimes, but in reality the program goes much further by giving green cards to both legal and illegal aliens!
Unfortunately, the open-borders lobby successfully hijacked the otherwise uncontroversial Violence Against Women Act (VAWA, S. 1925) by getting Senators to include language that expands the U visa program by tens of thousands of green cards. And now, the same amnesty advocates are insisting that Congress pass the Senate bill before the end of the year. Fortunately, the House refused to let VAWA become the vehicle for bad immigration policy, rejecting the U visa provisions. We must now make sure that Congress adopts the House version instead of the Senate.
And there is no time to waste! According to recent news reports, negotiations are underway right now to hammer out differences between the House and Senate bill. These negotiations will determine which version of the bill receives a final vote.
It is up to you to tell CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS why they SHOULD NOT CAVE and expand the U visa Program!!! Here is why the U visa represents bad immigration policy:
- The U visa program is unnecessary: USCIS already has authority to grant temporary legal status through humanitarian parole or deferred action to alien victims who help prosecute their assailants.
- The U.S. should not be stapling green cards to police reports! Although Congress created the U visa to help victims of domestic violence, the program is actually a path to citizenship for virtually anyone who applies.
- Illegal aliens are eligible for U visas, and once obtained, they may remain in the country for four years at a time, receive work authorization, and become eligible for a green card after three years!
- Proponents of the program argue it is for victims of violent crime; however, the program neither requires a crime to actually be committed, nor that the crime be violent.
- There is no limit to the number of derivative visas that may be issued to qualifying family members of a U visa holder.
- Even family members in deportation proceedings or with final orders of removal are eligible for legal status under the program.
- Although proponents of the program say more visas are needed because the annual ceiling of 10,000 has been met these last few years, no one who applies for the visa after the ceiling is reached is ever denied. Rather, applicants and their family members are placed on a wait list and receive authorization to work in the U.S. - even before their application is ever approved!
The open-borders lobby has been working hard issuing TV ads and calling Republican Leaders to tell them to support expanding the U visa program to protect illegal aliens. Make sure their voices are not the only ones heard on Capitol Hill! Call Congressional Leaders today and tell them to remain strong on this issue!

1. December 13th meeting moved to Thursday Dec 20 from 7-9pm. Christmas/Hanukkah meeting! We will concentrate less on action items and more on fun - we'll have a good video or something planned. We want to get some Chick-fil-A catering but we don't want to buy more than we'll eat so please let us know if you're coming and if you'll eat Chick-fil-A? Click here for their catering menu.
Just email us if you're coming: central.montco.ptpp@gmail.com And email us if you would attend an Agenda 21 seminar on Jan 26. (Estimated to take 3-4 hrs, cost $10 depending on interest and venue).
2. Agenda 21 Seminar interest? Please respond and let us or Jim Rodkey at jmrodkey@live.com know what your Interest is in attending an Agenda 21 seminar.
Agenda 21 seminar details. We are hearing more and more about Agenda 21. Knowing that 40 minutes with a guest speaker at a local meeting is not nearly enough time to cover the scope of the entire Agenda 21 objectives we would like to hold a Seminar on Sustainable Development (Agenda 21) on January 26 (date tentative depending on response). The Seminar, at this point would be internal, but would make heavy use of outside sources as well as provide you with necessary materials including the original Agenda 21 proposal. The 4 major points in covering this Seminar would include: - A comprehensive overview of Sustainable Development-Agenda 21.
- Agenda 21, ICLEI, NGO's and the Administrative State - how they work together to bypass the Constitution and implement law through regulation. (this is important so people understand how non-binding U.N policy become federal law that then moves down to our local government. This would also contrast the difference between a bottom up government (our Republic) and a top down government (a Soviet).
- Global governance through local initiative.
- Property Rights - the principle that formed the nation!
What we need to know is interest so we can establish a place for the meeting. We expect a fee of $10 to cover materials and rental of the facility and we expect this to cover at least 3 to 4 hours depending on group participation. If you could respond to this message blast by contacting Jim Rodkey at jmrodkey@live.com. We'll get the ball rolling and keep you updated on the Seminar as we move forward. Thank you!
Thanks folks, -Pam, Jim, Tim

Yes, it's true: You can support ACT! for America-at no cost to you! An important message from Guy Rodgers, Executive Director
The next time you make an online purchase of almost anything, you could be helping ACT! for America-at no cost to you. Sound too good to be true? It isn't. All you have to do is sign up for "iGive"-a program that's been around since 1997. The concept is as powerful as it is simple.
Every time an iGive member makes an online purchase at over 1,000 brand-name stores, a percentage of that purchase is donated to that person's charity of choice.
|
And with the holidays just around the corner, you could be helping ACT! for America with every gift you buy! The concept isn't new. In the mid-1990s many supporters of non-profit organizations signed up with long distance telephone programs where a percentage of their bill was donated to their charity of choice. But our investigation of iGive has convinced us that this program has an ease of use and sophistication that we find remarkable.
- Imagine booking a hotel room on Orbitz-and having 1.6% of that purchase price donated to ACT! for America.
- Or buying an Xbox at Best Buy-and having 1.2% of the purchase price donated to ACT! for America.
|
The same goes for buying merchandise at Amazon, Bath and Body Works, Advance Auto Parts, Game Stop, Kmart, Home Depot, Holiday Inn, Old Navy, NASCAR Superstore, Overstock.com, Mattel, J.C. Penney, Office Max, QVC, Radio Shack, Shoe Carnival, Pottery Barn-and on and on the list goes.
|
In other words, every time you make a purchase of merchandise you would buy anyway, you would be financially supporting ACT! for America! All you have to do is log on below and follow the directions to create your account and download the iGive "button." (Note: downloading the "button" is key).
Get Started Here!
When I was first informed of iGive, I was skeptical. I've seen these ideas come and go. Often, they're too good to be true. Or there are all kinds of glitches and problems. So I spent hours researching. I looked at online customer reviews (which were very good). I read all of iGive's fine print, such as Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. I signed up and even emailed two tech support questions to see how good their tech support was.
And the more I dug, the more I liked what I saw. For instance, both of my tech support questions were responded to within 60 minutes. How often does THAT happen?
|
As you know from our Patriot Partner program, we're all about encouraging a lot of people to each do a little-to do something. When everyone does a little, together we accomplish a lot. So consider what could happen.
If just 1% of ACT! for America members each purchased just $400 in merchandise in 2013, from all the available outlets, and the average percentage donated to ACT! was 1.5%, the total amount donated back to ACT! for America would be... ...$15,000. That's a lot of money, wouldn't you agree? And if you were one of those ACT! for America members, it wouldn't cost you one thin dime to help ACT! for America receive $15,000. If this idea really caught on, and eventually 5% of our members made purchases with iGive, that $15,000 could explode to $50,000, $75,000 or more!
|
What's more, that 1.5% figure might be low. Many of the merchants offer percentage donations that are much higher. One printer inkjet company I looked at offered 13%! Every merchant website you visit tells you right at the top what percentage of your purchase price will be donated to ACT! for America. Just think what we could accomplish with an extra $15,000, $50,000 or $75,000 in our fight against radical Islam!
Get Started Here!
One of the things I most wanted to know was their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Check it out for yourself. I confirmed the terms with a company representative. And I like what I learned. As security-conscious as I am, I have no hesitation using the service-and I'm already doing so.
|
I know there are many people out there who would love to support ACT! for America, or give more than they're giving, but in these tough economic times they simply can't. Well, here's a way that everyone who believes in our mission can easily support what we're doing-at no cost to them. It doesn't get any better than that.
There are already chapter leaders who have signed up for the program, and the feedback I have been getting from them has been all positive. They love the idea and many of them are already using it.
|
So please, join me and these ACT! for America chapter leaders who are already signed up and using the iGive service. Yours for a safe and free America

AMERICAN JEWS AND CHRISTIAN EVANGELICALS: IRRECONCILABLE ENEMIES OR INEVITABLE ALLIES?
|
|
Michael Medved is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host and bestselling author. His daily show is heard by over 3.75 million people across the country. Born in Philadelphia, Michael won admission to Yale at age 16 as a National Merit Scholar. He majored in American History and graduated with honors, before attending Yale Law School, where his classmates included Bill and Hillary Clinton. Michael wrote his first bestseller at age 26 - "What Really Happened to the Class of '65?" - a skeptical reconsideration of the "counterculture" of the 1960's that became a weekly TV series on NBC.
Many American Jews distrust and even fear the rise of the evangelical Christianity. They see this religious movement as a threat to the survival of Judaism in the United States and to the continuance of a society that values pluralism and religious liberty. On the other hand increasing numbers of American Jews view evangelicals as natural allies, not just when it comes to support of Israel, but on a range of social issues here in the U.S. In this provocative presentation, Michael Medved will explain where Jews and Christians already agree, and where they can never agree, in their participation in the ongoing battles shaping American society.

The failed Republican establishment has an uncanny ability to shoot itself in the foot and punish members who deserve praise. In an effort to crack down on lawmakers who actually attempt to balance the budget, Speaker Boehner and the Republican Steering Committee decided to clean house.
Authentic fiscal conservatives Justin Amash, Tim Huelskamp, and David Schweikert were purged from the Budget and Finance Committees as punishment for trying to restore fiscal sanity to Congress. Imagine that.
Get on the phone with Rep. Bill Shuster, your regional representative on the Republican Study Committee. Tell him you're tired of seeing Republicans capitulate to the Left's big-government agenda. Tell him that punishing the statesmen who take their jobs seriously will not be tolerated.
Thankfully, we can correct this injustice. With substantial constituent pressure, the Republican Steering Committee will be forced to reinstate these friends of liberty to their posts on critical House committees.
But it will take grassroots pressure, in the form of phone calls. Endless phone calls. That's why we're turning to you.
Click here to make a call to Bill Shuster!
If the most important committees are not manned with our most solid conservatives, we will be forfeiting any advantage of being the majority party in the House. America's ballooning national debt is the result of squishy moderates running Washington - those who care more about their "team" and their re-election than the future of our great nation. We have worked too hard supporting genuine fiscal conservatives in Congress to let them get railroaded.
Let the Republican "good old boy" network know that this aggression will not stand. With your support, we can force the Steering Committee to do what is right.

RedState Morning Briefing
For December 14, 2012
1. The Evangelists' Failure
Somewhere in America this week, Protestant Christ followers will donate money to fund missionaries. The offering for the Lottie Moon fund will be collected. Mission to the World will get a check. The Foreign Mission Board will be funded and prayed for. The Salvation Army bell will be rung.
Around the nation, Evangelical America will, throughout the year, hear tales of their missions, missionaries, and their money at work drawing people in foreign lands and occasional parts of the United States to Christ. They will hear of using their money to rebuild churches and homes after disaster, to care for the homeless, and to fund retirements of past preachers of the Truth. They will get lists of where their missionaries are, some with the word "Sensitive" in place of the name of China or Syria or Cuba. They will pray.
On Monday morning, many in Evangelical America will get up and take their kids off to a church affiliated school, having chosen to remove their children from declining, failing, and secular government schools. Others will wake and teach their children themselves, sometimes combining with other parents to homeschool.
On Sunday morning, many curious new comers will probably go into a church not called a church lest it deter them, where they will experience a Christ who may or may not be as they seek the Christ who is and was when they were young and more open to receiving him The conversion of the flock is not as difficult when done at an early age when the mind is still open to the miraculous. "Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it."
What Evangelical America will most likely not do this week or this Sunday or any week or any Sunday is write a check to send a stranger's child in a government school to a Christian school. This is one of the greatest failure of the evangelical church in the United States of America. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
2. Why You Can't Trade Taxes For Spending Should Republicans trade tax hikes for spending cuts? Much of the debate over the current fiscal cliff standoff centers around discussions of "ratios": Republicans will agree to X dollars of tax hikes, Democrats will agree to Y dollars of spending cuts, and so forth. Much of this discussion is based on numbers that are misleading or worse, because Washington doesn't calculate taxes and spending the same way. A tax hike will raise real, immediate costs on real taxpayers, whether or not it actually raises any more revenue. The targets of a tax hike are citizens, who do not have a choice whether to obey. By contrast, a "spending cut" may simply involve altering future projections of the rate of increase of spending, and thus agreements to cut spending rarely actually result in less spending. And the targets of such spending cuts are future Congresses, who can disregard them at will; they're not binding. The only real equivalents to tax hikes are (1) complete elimination of federal spending programs or (2) changes in the eligibility criteria or benefits formulas for entitlement programs. There are fair arguments about the best GOP strategy in managing the tax debate, but if a negotiated agreement is to be reached that will require Republican votes to pass, Republicans should not even consider agreeing to trade tax hikes in exchange for anything less. . . . please click here for the rest of the post → 3. BTW: The GOP just took control of Washington's state Senate. One wonders how, given that the existing plan has been signed off on by the entire incoming GOP state Senate Caucus. The way the deal goes: Tom and Sheldon get to be in charge. The Republicans get to control crucial committees like Ways and Means, Commerce and Labor, Health Care* - and, here's the fun one: they get to pick the majority floor leader. That's the person who decides which bill goes to which committee, which is another way of saying "the person who can kill or save bills." The Democrats get... to play with the parks and beaches, of which I understand Washington state has some very nice examples. . . . please click here for the rest of the post → 4. Dog Bites Man. Man Bites Back: The UAW's King made Michigan's Right-To-Work bed. When the union bosses and the institutional left look to assign blame for Michigan's newly enacted Right-to-Work law, they can blame the enactment of the new law giving Michigan workers the freedom to choose whether or not to pay union dues on one particular Marxist lawyer. . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Obama Invites Syrian Rebel Leader Who Praised Saddam for "Terrifying the Jews" to Washington DC
December 13, 2012 By Daniel Greenfield
Seriously guys, Obama is pro-Israel. He said that Israel has the right to defend itself, a few days before he pressured it into giving in to Hamas.
And he's inviting Sheikh Mouaz Alkhatib of the Muslim Brotherhood, current head of the Syrian rebels, to Washington, who has expressed pro-Israel opinions in the past, such as writing that one of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's positive legacies was "terrifying the Jews."
And I bet Obama would like some tips from him on that. Sheikh Mouaz Alkhatib's website also featured claims that Jews are the "Enemies of Allah."
Sheikh Mouaz Akkhatib got his invite a few days after the Sheikh defended Al Qaeda. Because defending Al Qaeda is what it takes to get a Washington invite these days.

Thursday, December 13, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer Handbook For Cultural Surrender President Obama not only wants to gut the Defense budget, which will make it harder to win the war against Islamofascism, he also wants to gut America's moral example around the world. The Wall Street Journal broke a truly shocking story this week about the latest draft Army handbook on how our troops should conduct themselves in Afghanistan. According to Obama's Army bureaucrats, the recent attacks by our Afghan "allies" against U.S.-led coalition troops, that have left 63 of our troops dead, are our fault! Consider this excerpt:
"Many of the confrontations occur because of [coalition] ignorance of, or lack of empathy for, Muslim and/or Afghan cultural norms, resulting in a violent reaction from the [Afghan security force] member."
The handbook goes on to advise our troops to avoid the following when speaking with Afghan security forces: "making derogatory comments about the Taliban," "advocating women's rights," "any criticism of pedophilia," "mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct" or "anything related to Islam." In Afghan society, buggering little boys is widespread and women are treated like cattle. But, according to the Obama leftists running our government and military, the REAL problem is that U.S. soldiers, being good men and women, despise injustice and are inclined to be critical of such disgusting "traditions" like molesting little boys and treating women like slaves. The commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Marine Gen. John Allen, is refusing to endorse the handbook. I admire his courage, but he should be careful. In Obama's military, the general may find that his next assignment is in Benghazi. A Shift In The Blame Game? For weeks, the media have been obsessing over polls showing that the public would overwhelmingly blame Republicans if the country goes over the fiscal cliff and taxes go up dramatically next year. A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll out today questions the media's prevailing narrative. If no deal is reached and the automatic tax hikes go into effect, 19% of the public would blame Obama and the Democrats more, while 24% would blame Republicans more. But 56% of the public would blame both parties equally. Boehner and Republicans got some good news if they will only recognize it. Suddenly no one has the advantage in the blame game. More importantly, it may reflect a shift in public opinion. As the days pass and we get closer to the fiscal cliff, the public is paying more attention to this debate. While it's true that taxing the "rich" polls well, the American people strongly support spending cuts too. For example:
- 67% of respondents in the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll supported spending cuts.
- 61% of voters in a Fox News poll released yesterday said that major spending cuts were necessary.
- In a recent Politico poll, 76% favored across-the-board spending cuts.
By the way, the Politico poll also found that 69% of Americans opposed raising taxes on small businesses that earn more than $250,000 a year. It was one of the few polls that asked about raising taxes on small businesses. This is a critical point because many small business owners pay their taxes as individuals, not as corporations. Obama's tax hikes would be a hard hit to these struggling job creators. The public sides with the GOP's approach to resolving the fiscal cliff. The Fox poll also asked voters, "Which do you think is the BEST way to deal with the country's budget problems?" Fifty-seven percent of registered voters said "mostly with cuts in government spending." Just 20% said "mostly with tax increases." Buoyed by this polling data, Speaker John Boehner held a press conference today. He firmly stood his ground against higher tax rates on small businesses and aggressively made the case that spending is the real problem. State Still Stonewalling On Benghazi Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to testify before Congress on the Benghazi attack later this month. But members of Congress are still being stonewalled by the State Department as they try to investigate the attack. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) has tried to meet with survivors of the attack, but the State Department has denied his requests. According to Chaffetz, he cannot get any information regarding their names, how many survivors there are, or even what state they are from. Meanwhile, Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) is demanding that the State Department cut off funds to the government of Tunisia. In October, Turkish officials arrested Ali Harzi, the only known suspect in the Benghazi attacks to be held in custody. He was then deported to his native Tunisia. But Tunisian officials have refused to let the FBI interview him. Wolf is demanding that the State Department cut off $300 million in aid that we have provided to Tunisia unless the country cooperates more fully. Kudos to Rep. Wolf! On The Hill I went to Capitol Hill yesterday and sat down with Senator Jim DeMint. I did not need reminding, but it was apparent in our time together why we really need 60 senators like him. I congratulated Senator DeMint for all he has accomplished for the conservative cause. It is sad to see him leave the Senate, but I know he will be in a position to advance our values at the Heritage Foundation. By the way, I've always known that Senator DeMint was a man of faith. But in the time I spent with his staff, it was clear that virtually everyone on his team is a strong Christian. While Jim DeMint has been primarily identified with economic issues, he and his staff are solid Ronald Reagan conservatives on all the issues we cherish.

*** LEGISLATIVE ACTION ALERT!!! ***
SUPPORT SPECIAL CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE BENGHAZI ATTACK!
http://www.capwiz.com/actforamerica/dbq/officials/
Recently, Representative Frank Wolf (VA) introduced H. Res. 824, legislation that creates a special Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives to conduct a thorough investigation into the terrorist attack in Benghazi. As you will recall, this heinous act against our nation resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. Representative Wolf believes-and we wholeheartedly agree-that the families of the victims, as well as the American people, deserve to know what transpired last September 11th in Libya. It has been over 80 days since the attack and the American people still have not been provided answers to serious questions. This is unacceptable. It is critical that this special Committee be convened when the 113th Congress commences in January and that will only happen if the American people register their support NOW.
The more cosponsors Representative Wolf's legislation receives, the more it will be clear to the members of the House of Representatives-and in particular the leadership there-that the American people are demanding answers regarding the Benghazi attack. Will you devote just a minute of your time today to ask your U.S. Representative to cosponsor Rep. Wolf's bill? It only takes a moment, but when joined with thousands of others, it makes quite a roar-and it gets results. ACT! for America's grassroots are getting a solid reputation on Capitol Hill for being folks who "get the job done." As but one example, recently we asked our members to call their legislators and ask that they sign an important letter that was being circulated on the Hill. Within 48 hours of our calls, the number of legislators who signed the letter went from 25 to 97. A Hill staffer even contacted Lisa Piraneo, our Director of Government Relations, to let us know that the phones were ringing off the hook. Your actions are WORKING. If you'd like to lend your voice to today's important cause, please follow these easy steps:
** IMPORTANT ACTION ITEM **
Today, please call YOUR member of the U.S. House of Representatives and ask him/her to sign on to H. Res. 824, Representative Frank Wolf's legislation creating a special Committee to investigate the Benghazi attack. Further, please circulate this Action Alert to everyone you know and post it on your social media sites! NOTE: If you need help locating your elected official, visit our Contact Congress page by clicking HERE. Type in your zip code where indicated to locate your U.S. legislators. Click on your Representative and you can then see his/her contact information, including the phone number of the Washington, DC office. If you know the name of your U.S. Representative, you also can call the Congressional Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be put through to that particular office. Please make your call NOW! Politely let your Representative know about H. Res. 824, Rep. Wolf's bill, and ask that he/she sign on as a cosponsor. (Be clear that you are a constituent!) Thank you for all that you do. Together, we are making a difference.
REMEMBER, YOUR VOICE COUNTS! IF EACH OF US DOES JUST A LITTLE, TOGETHER WE CAN ACCOMPLISH A LOT!

Radio Daze, with Steve and John
Posted: 13 Dec 2012 03:27 PM PST
(Steven Hayward)
So I had great fun as usual guest-hosting Bill Bennett's radio show this morning, and especially when John called in during the second hour. When I saw his name was up on the caller board during a commercial break, I decided to run my iPhone video camera as I fielded his call and posed the question: how do you and Scott and Paul, who have real day jobs (unlike me) do it? Unfortunately my iPhone only captures my side of the conversation, so this is just a very short clip. Later in the conversation I kidded John that because I had always followed the Miss Universe competition on radio, I never knew what I was missing until he started covering it in living color on Power Line.
Small Business Owners Pessimistic After Election Posted: 13 Dec 2012 02:48 PM PST (John Hinderaker) Small business owners are more pessimistic than at almost any time in modern history following last month's election, according to the National Federation of Independent Business: The most significant factor impacting the decline in optimism is the expectation that future business conditions will be worse than current ones. The net percent of owners expecting better business conditions in six months fell 37 points to a net negative 35 percent. In October, the percent of owners who said they were uncertain as to whether business conditions would be better or worse in six months hit a record low of 23 percent. Many of those who were uncertain about the economy in October became decidedly negative in November; 49 percent of the owners now expect business conditions to be worse in six months, while 11 percent still express uncertainty about the future. In the history of the monthly Index, only seven readings were lower, all but one in the last few months of 2008 and early 2009, the depths of the last recession. Prior to 1986 (when the survey was conducted on a quarterly basis), there were just two readings lower, 1975Q1 and 1980Q2. Read More . . .
A Modest Proposal Posted: 13 Dec 2012 10:28 AM PST (John Hinderaker) The old adage goes, "Don't get mad, get even." For a select few Americans, that principle could be amended to "Don't get mad at your enemies, buy them." I have sometimes thought that if I were Charles Koch, instead of trying to influence American politics honestly, I would do it the way the Democrats do: I would buy the New York Times. With a current market capitalization of $1.23 billion, the New York Times Co. would hardly put a dent in Koch's net worth. But Glenn Reynolds has a better idea. Not only is Glenn's proposal more cost-effective, it would allow Mr. Koch to associate with a better class of people: My suggestion: Buy some women's magazines. No, really. Or at least some women's Web sites. One of the groups with whom Romney did worst was female "low-information voters." Those are women who don't really follow politics, and vote based on a vague sense of who's mean and who's nice, who's cool and who's uncool. Read More . . . Cliff City, Part Two Posted: 13 Dec 2012 08:11 AM PST (Paul Mirengoff) George Will's column, which Scott discusses below, stops short of arguing that we should go over the "fiscal cliff" in order to fix the tax code. Ending the tax credit that subsidizes wind power, for example, "is not quite a sufficient reason to go over the 'fiscal cliff,'" Will writes, "but would be a consolation for doing so." Will urges that arguments about "the propoer scope and actual competence of government should not be truncated until the cliff gets closer." Read More . . . Cliff city Posted: 13 Dec 2012 05:33 AM PST (Scott Johnson)
In a column with an improvisational feel, George Will captures some of the abundant absurdity to which we have grown accustomed. Considering one small slice of Senator Richard Durbin's fatuity, Will riffs: It is enough to make you want to hop in your Fisker and drive off a fiscal cliff. You should know Fisker because you have helped to finance the Anaheim, Calif., company that makes - well, has made a few - electric cars. Its only model, the Karma - really; Obama administration green investments are beyond satire - costs $110,000. Your subsidy helped Justin Bieber, the fabulously rich Canadian teenager (he sings), buy one. No one ever said saving the planet one electric car at a time would be easy. The Wall Street Journal reports that despite Fisker's $192 million in Energy Department loans, the Karma "has been hobbled by recalls and quality problems" and the company has sacked half its employees. But perhaps Fisker's biggest problem is that its source of batteries, A123 Systems, has gone bankrupt in spite of its $249 million Energy Department grant. The administration that in the fiscal cliff drama is demanding control of much more of the nation's wealth is the author of many Solyndra-style debacles.
Will doesn't even hint at an approach to resolving the approaching fiscal cliff, but his column supplies a little anger management therapy for troubled times. Article Here . . .

A candle is a brief flare of light. A wick dipped in oil burns and then goes out again. The light of Chanukah appears to follow the same narrative. Briefly there is light and warmth and then darkness again. Out of the exile of Babylon, the handful that returned to resettle and rebuild the land faced the might of new empires. The Jews who returned from the exile of one evil empire some twenty-six hundred years ago were forced to decide whether they would be a people with their own faith and history, or the colony of another empire, with its history and beliefs. Jerusalem's wealthy elites threw in their lot with the empire and its ways. But out in the rural heartland where the old ways where still kept, a spark flared to life. Modi'in. Maccabee. And so war came between the handfuls of Jewish Maccabee partisans and the armies of Antiochus IV's Selecuid empire. A war that had its echoes in the past and would have it again in the future as lightly armed and untrained armies of Jewish soldiers would go on to fight in those same hills and valleys against the Romans and eventually the armies of six Arab nations. The Syrian Greek armies were among the best of their day. The Maccabees were living in the backwaters of Israel, a nation that had not been independently ruled since the armies of Babylon had flooded across the land, destroying everything in their path.

Forensics profiler deconstructs Barack Obama
Dec 13, 2012 05:13 am | Coach Collins
by George Spelvin, staff writer
Cutting edge forensic profiler, Dr. Andrew G. Hodges, is using his skills to decode the psychological construct of President Barack Obama to uncover the reasons for what the doctor believes to be the poresident's "deep misguided fury ... toward America." Using a method he calls thought print decoding, Hodges explains the shadow side which Obama reveals in his speeches and especially his letters to his daughters. "These communications result from part of the subconscious called super intelligence," says Hodges. (1)
Thought print decoding enables Hodges to read between the lines of Obama's thought processes to reveal secret traumas controlling his life. The forensic psychiatrist asks in his new book THE OBAMA CONFESSION, "What does he (Obama) truthfully tell us about his birth certificate?" (1)
Secret fears and secret fury concerns are based in the President's memories of his father, Barack Obama I, a man who held deep seated anger against ... Continue Reading:Forensics profiler deconstructs Barack Obama

Sharia the centerpiece of Egypt's new constitution. Thanks a lot, Barack
Dec 12, 2012 12:30 pm | Coach Collins
by Doug Book, staff writer
Thanks to Barack Hussein Obama's Arab Spring scheme of turning the Egypt of Hosni Mubarek into a "representative democracy," the US is now reduced to watching as a former friend and ally morphs into an America-hating, Sharia-based theocracy.
Six months after promising to build a government based on "freedom and social justice," Egypt's newly elected president Mohamed Morsi authored a decree granting himself a level of dictatorial authority which even Mubarek did not enjoy. As a result, demonstrations began throughout the nation culminating last week in Morsi fleeing the presidential palace in Cairo. (1)
Though he has since rescinded most of the contents of that decree, including an article which had elevated his own authority above that of Egypt's Supreme Judicial Council, Morsi refused to alter the date upon which Egyptian voters will decide the fate of the country's newly written constitution. Authored almost exclusively by members of Morsi's own ... Continue Reading:Sharia the centerpiece of Egypt's new constitution. Thanks a lot, Barack

A Second Wave: Tea Party Leader Says 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet' |
|
by Matthew Boyle
Todd Cefaratti, the president of TheTeaParty.net, has a message for Republicans and Democrats alike: "This is just the beginning. If you think the tea party's dead, you ain't seen nothing yet."
At a press conference inside the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday afternoon, Cefarratti's organization and several House Republicans joined with Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul to decry House GOP leadership considering capitulating to Democratic efforts to raise taxes during the fiscal cliff negotiations. A more subtle message that carried throughout the presser, though, was that conservatives are trying to regain the mantle they had in 2010 with a return to true conservative principles that were all but abandoned over the past couple years.

[Video] State-Run Communism In The US
By Jonathon M. Seidl
If you were ever in doubt what type of thinking this administration fosters, this clip should put any debate to rest.
Appearing Monday morning on CBS, Obama's jobs council head and the CEO of GE Jeffrey Immelt said that one thing that "actually works" is "state-run Communism" in China.
After host Charlie Rose brought up the "growth rate" of China falling from double digits to about eight percent, Immelt chimed in.
"Look, I think it's good for China," he said. "To a certain extent, Charlie, 11 to 12 percent is unsustainable. You end up getting too much stimulus or a misallocation of resources. They are much better off working on a more consumer-based economy, less dependent on exports, driving technology and innovation harder. Really, the one thing that actually works, state run communism may not be your cup of tea, but their government works."

How much sicker can people get? It seems like our world is becoming more sadistic and more cruel with each passing day. If you doubt this, just keep reading. Sadly, I could have easily included hundreds more examples just like these. Changes are happening to our society at a very deep and very fundamental level. Everywhere you look, hearts are growing colder and it seems like we are completely surrounded by psychopaths and sociopaths. But if all you do is listen to the mainstream media, you would be tempted to think that we are the smartest, most moral, most "enlightened" generation in all of human history. Unfortunately, that is most definitely not the case. Society is literally coming apart at the seams right in front of our eyes. Read The Full Story

The Risky Business of Obamacare for States
Recent decisions by the Obama Administration concerning the health care exchanges and Medicaid expansion underscore what a risky proposition the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is for the states. Congress presumed in PPACA (Obamacare) that the states would agree to build and run exchanges and could be forced to expand Medicaid. The Supreme Court, however, ruled the Medicaid expansion voluntary, which has made states increasingly concerned over new burdens related to costs, control, and coverage-in both the exchanges and Medicaid.
Fighting Back to Minimize the Damage of Bad Decisions
Sometimes opposing bad policy-such as by declining to run exchanges or expand Medicaid- while important, is not enough. In those instances, lawmakers need to work to minimize the impact of bad policies that they are unable to fully reverse. They also need to insist on transparency, accountability, and a level playing field, so as to create public awareness of the true consequences of bad policies and build support for future reforms.
Still a Risky Proposition for the States
Enormous uncertainty still surrounds the health care law. With less than one year remaining before the major provisions of Obamacare take effect, it is no surprise that barely more than one-fifth of states have publically agreed to both establish a state exchange and expand their Medicaid programs. The other states would be wise to decline those risky steps and instead prepare better alternatives for health care reform.

The Supreme Court's Challenge: Restore Marriage Decisions to Citizens
The Supreme Court of the United States announced last week that it will hear cases dealing with the definition of marriage during its current term.
The Court will consider challenges to the Defense of Marriage Act, passed by an overwhelming bipartisan majority in Congress and signed by President Bill Clinton, and Proposition 8, California's constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
After lower courts ruled against these marriage laws, the Supreme Court now has the opportunity to return authority to citizens in answering questions about marriage policy.persecution. Every marriage policy draws lines, leaving out some types of relationships. But equality forbids arbitrary line-drawing. Determining which lines are arbitrary requires us to answer two questions:
1. What is marriage? 2. Why does it matter for policy?
There are many good reasons why citizens in 41 states have said over and over that marriage is between a man and a woman. Marriage exists to bring a man and a woman together as husband and wife to be father and mother to any children their union produces. And as ample social science has shown, children tend to do best when reared by their mother and father. Government recognizes marriage because it is an institution that benefits the public good. Marriage is society's least restrictive means to ensure the well-being of future citizens. State recognition of marriage protects children by incentivizing adults to commit permanently and exclusively to each other and their children.
While respecting everyone's liberty, government rightly recognizes, protects, and promotes marriage as the ideal institution for procreative love, childbearing, and childrearing.
In recent decades, marriage has been weakened by a revisionist view that sees marriage as primarily about emotional bonds or legal privileges. In other words, it is more about adults' desires than children's needs. Same-sex marriage is the culmination of this revisionism: Emotional intensity would be the only thing left to set marriage apart from other bonds.
Government should not obscure the truth about marriage by accepting that revisionist view. In redefining marriage to include same-sex relationships, government would weaken marital norms, further delinking childbearing from marriage and hurting spouses and children-especially the most vulnerable. It would deny a mother or father to a child as a matter of policy.
The harms resulting from redefining marriage would force the state to intervene more often in family life and force the state's welfare to grow even more. Citizens would lose more of their freedom of religion and conscience.
Today's decision from the Supreme Court comes a week after the district court of Nevada upheld that state's marriage amendment that defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman. In the coming months, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments and ultimately issue its ruling by June 2013. Whatever the outcome, debate on the issue of marriage will continue.
The coming months, therefore, offer an important opportunity for citizens to consider carefully what marriage is and why government should continue to recognize marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

Deadline for States to Claim Their Role in Obamacare
Tomorrow is an important day for Obamacare. It's the deadline for states to declare their intentions about setting up their own health insurance exchanges for residents to purchase insurance under the new regime. If a state does not set up an exchange, the federal government will come in and set it up, according to the law. So far, 22 states have said they are not going to set up state exchanges. Only six states have received conditional approval from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to operate their own exchanges. Why leave it up to the federal government? Well, to begin with, it's an extremely costly undertaking. Heritage health care experts Nina Owcharenko and Ed Haislmaier explain:
[T]here will be no steady flow of federal dollars to the states. The law specifies that starting in 2015, any state implementing a state exchange must develop its own revenue source to fund the exchange's annual operations. That puts the long-term costs squarely on the states. Moreover, the recent announcement by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that it will levy a 3.5 percent administrative fee on coverage sold through the federally run exchanges indicates there are significant costs if a state agrees to run its own exchange.
And what would be in it for them? Certainly not increased control over how the exchanges are run. Owcharenko and Haislmaier explain that "regulations promulgated by HHS allow states no meaningful flexibility or advantage by operating their own exchanges, relative to a federal exchange. Those states would simply be acting as vendors to HHS."

All of Ronald Reagan's formative years, from birth until he landed his first job across the Mississippi 21 years later, were lived in rural northwestern Illinois except for about ten months in Chicago. In all but one case, his rural boyhood homes have been preserved. His birthplace in Tampico looks as it did when he was born and is open to the public. So is his teen years home in Dixon. The house the Reagans lived in for two years in Galesburg has been lovingly restored by its private owner. Their house in Monmouth is the only home that is closed.
