It's that time of year already! IT'S HOCKEY SEASON! The season where we come together as Canadians to watch and/or play our favorite national pastime.
Teams and leagues are kicking off their seasons and our high performance programs are in full tilt getting our Team BC's ready for upcoming regional and national competitions.

FEMALE U18 TEAM BC EXHIBITION GAMESfu18

The Female U18 Team BC shortlist has been and named and the girls are preparing for a weekend of off-ice training, on-ice practices and three (3) exhibition games taking place September 24 - 27, 2015 at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

The exhibition game schedule is:

September 25th7:00pm
Team BC vs UBC Thunderbirds
September 26th3:00pm
Team BC vs UBC Thunderbirds
September 27th10:30am
Team BC vs South Delta Bantam A1 Storm

All games take place at the UBC Thunderbird Arena and are free to the public.

The final players selected to play for Team BC at the 2015 National Women's U18 Championship will be announced on Thursday, October 1, 2015. These players will then head to Huntsville, Ontario to take part in the championships which run November 4-8, 2015.

Come out and watch some exciting, elite women's hockey and support Team BC!
HOMETOWN HOCKEY COMING TO BC AND THE YUKONHOMETOWN


Canada's ultimate hockey festival is set for another season-long, cross-country celebration as Rogers announced the communities that will host the 2015-2016 Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour. Five (5) communities in BC and the Yukon have been selected as hosts.

January 23-24, 2016Whitehorse, YT
February 13-14, 2016New Westminster, BC
February 20-21, 2016Abbotsford, BC
February 27-28, 2016Victoria, BC
March 12-13, 2016Penticton, BC

National Hockey League (NHL) alumni, hometown heroes and local entertainment will appear at each stop along the way. Ron MacLean will deliver unique hockey stories inside the Sportsnet Mobile Studio every Sunday.

Each destination on the tour will deliver a jam-packed weekend of free outdoor activities in the heart of each community celebrating all things hockey. Fan favorites such as Sportsnet Be a Broadcaster, Scotiabank Community Locker Room and Dodge Stow 'n Go Challenge will be back, and there will be new GamePlus experiences that will take participants behind the scenes and closer to the stars of the game.

We hope to see you out in a community near you!

OCEANSIDE SUMMER SKILLS CAMPoceanside

The Oceanside Minor Hockey Association hosted a Skills Camp for Novice, Atom, Pee Wee and Bantam players from August 24 - 28, 2015. The players participated in both on-ice and dryland training, as well as many team building activities.

Judging by all the smile and laughter, the kids had a great time!
