Although the hockey season has ended, and most of us are outside enjoying the sunshine rather than strapping on the skates at the arena, it has been a busy month for BC Hockey and many players.

The BC Hockey AGM concluded a couple weeks ago with the announcement of a new President and winners of the AGM Awards. BC players are still making a mark nationally as almost 30 players have been invited to attend Hockey Canada camps this summer in hopes of representing Team Canada at numerous international events.

Overall, 2013-2014 was a great year for BC Hockey with many memorable moments.  BC Hockey Year in Review magazine captures many of the milestones that made this past season so wonderful for so many.

Enjoy!

WILSON NAMED OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER BY HOCKEY CANADA

Hockey Canada honoured long-time volunteer Nancy Wilson (London, ON) with the Outstanding Volunteer Award at its annual banquet.  Wilson has contributed tremendously to the growth of the game in BC, across the country and around the world over the past 15 years.

Wilson has had a particularly strong role in developing women's hockey, acting as both the game plan and female high performance coordinator for BC Hockey. She has also served as head coach for UBC, Team BC and Canada's National Women's U22 Team and as an assistant coach with Canada's National Women's Team.  Wilson was the first-ever recipient of the BC Hockey Development Award - Female High Performance and was the first female inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame.  She was recently named Director of Operations for the Female U18 Team BC that will compete at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Congratulations Nancy on this amazing accomplishment and thank you for all the work you put into the BC Hockey Female Hockey Program.
