OKANAGAN ROCKETS BRING HOME BRONZE AT 2014 TELUS CUP

Congratulations to the Major Midget League Okanagan Rockets who won the bronze medal at the 2014 TELUS Cup on April 27, 2014 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan!

After a scoreless opening period, the Toronto Nationals jumped out a 2 - 0 lead in the second period.  Entering their final period of the season, and for some, their final minor hockey game, the Rockets were able to claw back with goals from Linden Hora and Liam Finlay.  With the score tied at two (2), overtime was needed.  Early into the overtime frame, Hora scored his second of the game to give his squad the 3 - 2 victory.

The Okanagan Rockets defeated the reigning National Champions, the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs, in the Pacific Midget Regional Championship to advance to their first ever TELUS Cup appearance.

Finlay was named the Most Sportsmanlike Player and Tanner Wishnowski claimed the Top Scorer (15 points) and Top Forward awards at the 2014 TELUS Cup Award Banquet.
