Nominations for the As You Like It Owner's Award and the Liz Cochran Memorial Grooms Award are due today. Sara Kozumplik established the As You Like It Owners Award in honor of her former upper level horse. This award honors owners who have made outstanding contributions to a rider's career and the sport of eventing. The winner receives an engraved Waterford Crystal Trophy and $5,000 to be awarded in their name as prize money to the PRO Tour event of their choice. Jacqueline Mars was the winner in 2011.
The Liz Cochran Memorial Groom's Award was established last year in honor of Abigail Lufkin's groom Liz Cochran who epitomized the dedication of a professional groom in her care of her equine charges and also was an outstanding public representative of her rider. The winner receives an engraved silver bowl; a cash award of $5,000, and a $500 donation is made in the groom's name to the cancer charity of their choice. Lindsey Taylor was the inaugural winner of this award in 2011. Forms can be downloaded from the PRO website in the Members submenu. Professional Members must be logged in to access the forms.
