Science Week started with lots of fun for everyone! Science Week is an annual tradition in Oakley that brings children and their families together for science exploration.

It was a very busy week of science fun and learning! A tour of Marsh Creek kicked things off. Reptile Kingdom was a big hit, giving kids the chance to learn about and make friends with some wonders of the reptile world.
Other activities throughout the week included how to make video games, bottle rockets, how to fly kites, Delta science, and what Oobleck is!

Join us for the final day of Science Week tomorrow, Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Ironhouse Sanitary District at 450 Walnut Meadows Dr. where the Delta Science Center and Ironhouse Sanitary District present Extreme Delta- Delta Raptors. We hope to see you there!

Marsh Creek Receives Renovation
City workers and contractors are performing clean up and general maintenance as well as installing new plants and trees in the Marsh Creek Restoration area at Creekside Park.

The January and February Winter rain and wind storms damaged and destroyed some trees and vegetation, and left a significant amount of trash and woody debris to be cleaned up.

Some new Oregon Ash, Willow, and Cottonwood trees are be installed along with some Toyon shrubs.

A large scour hole and one smaller one were created from the flooding. Restoration Design Group, consultants for the City, recommended the two scour holes not be filled in, as it will make a good habitat feature and provide additional ecological value to the area over time.
