New Survey Question in Engage in Oakley
A new Engage in Oakley question is available and your input is needed. Engage in Oakley is the City of Oakley's online forum for civic engagement where you can read what others are saying about important Oakley topics, and where you can post your input as well. Your statements are then incorporated into the City official's decision process.

With the month of May just around the corner, so too is the start of the City of Oakley's 2017 Movies in the Plaza series. The City of Oakley's Recreation Services Division would like your input on what movies should be shown during the 2017 Movies in the Plaza series. The series features one FREE movie a month from May to October to be shown at the Oakley Civic Center Amphitheater after dark. Lindsey Bruno, City of Oakley Recreation Manager says, "I look forward to hearing from the community what movies they want to see and to another summer of Movies in the Plaza."

To take the survey visit Engage in Oakley and select the movies you would like attend or make a suggestion on what movies you would like to enjoy at the plaza with your friends and family. Keep in mind that while we do our best to honor the top picks, licensing restrictions play a role in the ultimate movie selections. We also try to avoid playing past featured movies.

The survey will be closed the last week of February so that we can start booking the movies and dates with the licensing company and include the events in the Recreation Guide. For more information about the Movies on the Plaza series please contact the Recreation Division at 925-625-7041.
Contractors Help City Deliver Beautiful and Clean Parks and Streetscape
Being a smaller city with a lean staff, the City of Oakley often contracts with the private sector or non-profits to perform specialized functions. The Oakley Parks and Landscape Division performs its maintenance operations responsibilities through a combination of both in-house and contracted landscape maintenance services.

Terracare Associates, Marina Landscape, Commercial Support Services, and West Coast Arborists are the current contractors that help the Oakley Parks and Landscape Division achieve its goal to keep the parks and landscape areas in an aesthetically pleasing, safe, and well maintained condition.

Community Choice Energy- Voice Your Opinion
Contra Costa County has organized an online survey for local electricity consumers to express their preferences regarding which route the County should take regarding Community Choice Aggregation (CCA).  The Board of Supervisors decided at their January 7th, 2017 meeting, the two options are 1) join Marin Clean Energy (MCE), as San Pablo, Richmond, El Cerrito, Walnut Creek and Lafayette have already done; or 2) join Alameda County's emerging CCA program, East Bay Community Energy (EBCE). The City of Oakley is currently exploring its options and would like to provide the link to this survey to Oakley Residents and Businesses.
