Need some wood chips/mulch for your landscaping? Wood chips will be available for pick-up Saturday, November 19th from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the City Yard located at the corner of Neroly Road and Main Street (entrance on Neroly). Please be advised this is the last opportunity for free mulch until Spring 2017.
Community Thanks Veterans
The City of Oakley held its 5th Annual Veterans Day Observance Ceremony on Friday, November 11th. Oakley's program included the Presentation of Colors, student essays, rifle salute and taps to honor those who have served.  
 
The Freedom High School Marching Band began with a prelude of music. They also played the National Anthem. Girl Scout Troops #33390 and #33790 led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Heritage High School USAF JROTC cadets were present and led the Marine Corps League Detachment 1155 performed the volley salute and a moving rendition of taps.

It's Time for Breakfast With Santa!  
Don't miss your chance to see Santa on Saturday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the Oakley Recreation Building (1250 O'Hara Ave). Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to join us for breakfast and visit with the children. The continental breakfast will include pastries, fresh fruit, and juice/cocoa/coffee. There will be make-n-take holiday crafts for the children. Parents may bring cameras to capture the special moment. Registration is required and space is limited. The cost is $7 per person.

Engage In Oakley Asks About Future Recreation Center Facilities- Weigh In!
 Take a moment to fill out the survey on Engage in Oakley! Help us determine how the City should plan for future recreation facility center needs, in a manner that maximizes the most utility to Oakley residents while staying within the constrained funding. To participate, visit our website and click on the Engage in Oakley icon. 
Hometown Holiday Decorating Contest
Oakley residents are invited to show their community pride and help spread holiday cheer by submitting a digital photo of the festive decorations on the front of their home, front yard and roof. The contest is limited to residents (no businesses) and participants must live within the City of Oakley limits. Entry forms and information are available at www.oakleyinfo.com under the Recreation tab. The entry deadline is 5:00 p.m., December 8th. Photos will be posted on-line for the public vote from December 12-16th. The winner will be announced December 19th.

Recreation Leader: Open until filled
Some of the duties will range from leading participants in arts and crafts, sports, games, homework tutorials, and recreational activities, answering questions from the public, helping to plan and coordinate events, assist with set up as well as serving as a role model. Among the primary requirements are that you be 18 years of age or older, have a driver's license, available to work nights and evenings and can lift 50 pounds or more.

Facilities Attendant: Open until filled
The Facilities Attendant is responsible for assisting with the daily duties associated with community recreation programs, facility supervision, special events and City property rentals. This position consists of facilitating rentals, providing assistance with front desk coverage as needed, distributing promotional material and working with the public. Under the direction of the Recreation Manager, the Facilities Attendant will be required to enforce Park and Recreation rules and regulations in order to ensure a safe environment to all patrons seeking to utilize City facilities.

Police Officer Lateral: Open until filled
Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant or other supervisory/management staff, the Police Officer performs a variety of duties related to the protection of public health, safety, and welfare and the enforcement of applicable federal, state, and local laws; provides traffic enforcement and control; and carries out special assignments in a particular phase of police work.

Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm and Fridays from 8am-5pm
City Hall is closed the 1st & 3rd Friday of the month
