Want to help advise the Council regarding the subdivision and Design Review process? We are now accepting applications (due May 19th) for the Citizen Planning Advisors Program. The Council will appoint 3-5 residents for 2 year terms. For more information and the application click here.  
Taste of Oakley Recap 
The 2nd Annual Taste of Oakley was a tasty success this past Saturday evening. Nine Oakley-based restaurants and caterers served delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts to 100 guests. Restaurants included; Black Bear Diner, Mountain Mike's, Peke's, C&C BBQ, Carpaccio, Sabrina's Pizzeria, Los Charros Mexican Restaurant, Subway and Jalisco's Mexican Restaurant.  For all the event photos check out our flickr.
Emerson Ranch Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony 
We've added another adventurous park in Oakley, making it number 33! The official ribbon-cutting was this past Saturday. A major park feature is the large field perfect for a soccer or baseball. Enjoy!

City Council Meeting Debrief 
At the Tuesday, May 10th Meeting of the City Council/City Council Acting as the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency Meeting the Council:
 
  • Welcomed Laurel Elementary School student, Emma Torres who led the Pledge of Allegiance
  • Recognized Kyle Kortsen for accomplishing the rank of Eagle Scout
  • Proclaimed May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness month
  • Proclaimed May 15-21 as Public Works Week

FREE Mulch Tomorrow
Wood chips/mulch will be available for pick-up tomorrow, Saturday, May 14th from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the City Yard located at the corner of Neroly Road and Main Street (entrance on Neroly). Oakley residents need to bring their own tools/shovels and bags/containers to load and carry the mulch, and a tarp to cover if necessary. Residents are asked to not take more than five yards at a time.
MEASURE K: Oakley Library & Community Learning Center Informational Meeting is Tuesday 
The City of Oakley in partnership with the Contra Costa County Library, invites the public to an informational meeting to learn more about Measure K. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 17th in the City Council Chambers located at 3231 Main Street, Oakley beginning at 7:00 p.m. 
 
The City Council has approved placing a proposition on the June 7, 2016 ballot asking voters if they support a new downtown Oakley Library and Community Learning Center. Approval of the ballot measure will result in $7.75 in additional tax, per month, per parcel over a thirty year period. For more information and the full ballot language click here.
Memorial Day Observance Ceremony, Save the Date
The City of Oakley will hold its fifth Annual Memorial Day Observance Ceremony on Saturday, May 28th, 2016 at the Civic Center Park, 3231 Main Street beginning at 10:30 a.m.  We hope you can join us!

Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm and Fridays from 8am-5pm
City Hall is closed the 1st & 3rd Friday of the month
